Corral del Rey receives high marks for its exceptional service, with staff earning accolades for their warmth and attentiveness, ensuring a personalized experience. The hotel's amenities, including rooftop terraces and elegant breakfasts, contribute to its charm, as does its central location, making it a tranquil haven within easy reach of Seville's highlights. While the rooms may be cozy, guests appreciate their comfort and chic decor. Cleanliness is a standout feature, with travelers noting the pristine conditions throughout. However, some guests feel the pricing is a bit steep for the value received.

You don’t really need me to tell you that Corral del Rey is one of the best hotels in Seville, certainly in the historic centre of the city and probably anywhere roundabout. It gets high praise in the listings, such as the Telegraph hotel guide, and from a recent visit I’d say the 9/10 ranking is completely deserved. Mind you, I haven’t stayed in the other top Seville hotels for comparison, but I have in equivalent ones in other European cities, and I’d say it stands up to the competition and at very reasonable prices too.

The reason why Corral de Rey excels is because of attention to detail. Of course, that’s to be expected in a top hotel, but everything about my stay from the way I was greeted at reception to the furnishing of my room was well-thought through. For example, the style of the interior design is crisply elegant and well-considered (very much to my taste). The buildings are very well maintained and my room was cleaned really fastidiously every day. My room was also well insulated both for sound and light: the efficient window blinds were much appreciated somewhere as sunny as Seville. I don’t usually think much about hotel beds, but the one in my room managed to combine firm support with softness (a difficult combination to pull off). And a very neat and big cupboard tucked away the espresso machine, sink, fridge and even a microwave. A terrace with a view of the Giralda tower was the icing on the cake.

The other thing that Corral de Rey gets absolutely right is a sense of friendliness and welcome. Again, of course, you expect good service in a good hotel. I’ve stayed elsewhere and had thoroughly professional – but perhaps more mechanical – attention. Here everyone from the staff in reception to the chambermaids and the maintenance guy had nice smiles and friendly greetings. The ethos of the place was exceptionally pleasant. This must be hard to sustain because I’m sure lots of ‘guests’ are more than a little trying, but it all came across as effortless (which I’m sure it isn’t).

This is a beautifully quiet hotel. The Corral is very narrow so not much traffic gets through but it doesn’t seem to trap noise as can sometimes happen in old cities. The building is also very solid, with well-insulated walls. Staying in a hotel inevitably means staying near other people who can’t help making noise, but here I felt wonderfully calm and protected. It meant I had a really serene escape from ‘normal’ life.

I cannot begin to say enough good things about this absolutely lovely boutique hotel. Immediately after booking, the communication began with the exceptional staff. They were most eager to accommodate us in any way from scheduling activities and tours to providing comfortable transportation from the train station and arranging taxis for dinner when walking was not an option. On arrival, the kind staff met us on the winding, unfamiliar cobblestone street and lead us to the hidden Corral Del Rey. Upon entering, I immediately was immersed in the Andalusian culture. The decor reflective of the inter twined cultural influences. I was enamored with Seville!! Again the staff was so kind and was visibly worried that our enormous, over packed all American suitcases would not fit in the room we had booked. They gathered staff and scurried around discreetly then reported that they had moved furniture to the basement to help accommodate our belongings. The room was small, but all that I had hoped for in this first visit to Spain. Attention to details like fresh flowers, turn down service with lemon water and a sweet treat nightly. They even remembered my husband’s allergies and coffee preference at breakfast.
And there’s more!! The location is remarkable as we were able to walk daily to most everything we wanted to see or do. Be advised, however, that this is a very historic area with cobblestoned streets. Be very careful with your shoe choice or you will be returning to hotel to change after about 20 embarrassing steps. Also, we visited in early April and it was not the season for air conditioning and it just so happened to be 80 degrees that week. But again, we leaned into this new culture and found ways to adapt. This hotel was one of my favorite parts of our trip.

Corral del Rey is a beautiful hotel and my family and I had a wonderful time in Seville. We were a group of 5 adults and the hotel was perfectly situated for exploring, walking and socialising. The hotel staff went above and beyond with their warm hospitality and they booked various sights and made travel arrangements for us. The rooms are extremely comfortable and quiet, even though our room was street facing and the bathrooms in the deluxe rooms are very spacious with fabulous showers. Breakfast each morning was delicious and generous in quality and portions.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and, should I find myself in Seville again, I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.

Ah ......what can one say about the divine Penthouse at Corral del Rey that would actually do justice to this stunning hideaway,
Having been lucky enough to have spent two beautiful days and nights here we were really pampered and cherished and staying anywhere else on our Andalusian adventure had to work hard to measure up !
The area is made up a spacious suite of rooms including our own private terraza where we enjoyed a delightful breakfast in the early sunshine and each afternoon a slumbering rest after exploring Sevilla , a sweet little plunge pool to cool off in when the temperature rose and a magnificent bathroom where everything was giant size including the wonderful and powerful double shower , just bliss ....
The bed was incredibly difficult to leave as was the whole suite and when our two days had flown by , we cold have happily moved in for the summer !

The area is perfect for strolling and has a plethora of delicious restaurants nearby , the staff are so sweet and charming and we feel as if they are friends forever now , if you stay you know that they would happily help with any requests or advice in a " nothing is too much trouble " way ,
We left feeling how lucky were we to have stayed in such a wonderful setting and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment, and would highly recommend to future travellers.

This is a charming hotel on a narrow cobblestone street in the heart of the old town, very conveniently located near much of what we wanted to see in Seville. The staff is extremely friendly. They allowed us to check into our room several hours early and brought us coffees in the comfortable lobby while they finished up getting it ready and brought our luggage to the room. I recommend Corral del Rey highly.

The CdR is utterly beautiful, it is like being in a private house with the best service.
Each room is stunningly decorated but feels calm and relaxing. Each bedroom has a different layout and they all incorporate the charm of the original building. The rooms with a terrace, plunge pool and lounger area are incredibly spoiling yet will be the best combination for when the heat starts in the city.
The breakfast was wonderful, starting with fresh fruit and pastries, delicious coffee and if you want it, lots of other breakfast combinations. For staying in the glorious city of Seville this is a must, you are literally around the corner from the Cathedral, restaurants and cafes, yet it is peaceful.
The staff are helpful and dedicated to making your stay the best it can be.

Words and photos don’t do this amazing property justice. The attention to detail is immaculate - from the fresh flowers in the room, to the beautiful recessed lighting, and even an optional turn-down service. Albeit a little bit hard to find due to its nondescript signage - this hotel is truly a gem and one I absolutely plan to stay at again when I can spend more time in Seville.

This is a 3 star hotel that is very upscale, easily as nice as some 5 star hotels minus a full restaurant and spa. Everything about it was charming. Our Deluxe double room was lovely, especially the spacious bathroom - so appreciated when traveling! The staff were very eager to be of service. Breakfast was served and consisted of a full continental cuisine with additional items available for order. We loved being tucked away on Corral del Rey street not far from main attractions. Don’t hesitate to reserve here if a historic boutique hotel is your thing.

I disagree with the average and poor reviews on here and had I trusted these we would have selected a different hotel.

We had a junior suite at £500 a night and it was tiny, it' a suite I suppose as it had a sofa in it but an odd configuration of a room. Large bathroom. Everything was comfortable and it was nicely decorated throughout but so expensive for what it was.

The breakfast was healthy and well-presented but really just some fruit and pastry with eggs and bacon charged on top which at £500 a night is penny pinching. No water in the room.

Nothing done or said for it being my birthday trip.

Tiny amount of outdoor space a few tables on the roof, the plunge pool is the size of a large bath and it resembles a trough for an animal. As another reviewer has said, the communal spaces are nicely decorated but guests don't hang out there they pass through en route to the tiny rooms.

As has been mentioned in other reviews the staff are smiling and friendly and it feels homely but if they halved the cost it would feel about right. The hotel is well located but there is hardly any outdoor space, the breakfast is not to write home about and the rooms are vastly overpriced.

You enter this hotel from a small cobbled street, which the taxi usually has to drop you at the end of as it really is narrow! The front door is rather discrete!
You are welcomed by smiling, happy staff, who are full of useful information and recommendations to make your trip as special as possible. Booking tables, recommending restaurants and being thoroughly lovely.
The rooms are generous for an old building with very comfortable beds and large bathrooms with amazing power showers. Breakfast is continental but you can order a cooked one. The orange juice is the most delicious freshly squeezed that I can still dream about.
They run an honesty bar on the roof terrace and in the sitting room. We had a room at the front of the building overlooking the quiet street. This hotel is close to the main attractions of Seville and everywhere is within walking distance.
We stayed for 3 nights and highly recommend this hotel.

How difficult is it to park your car? How far away and how much is it?

The hotel has no car park as the street is too narrow. There is one called Cano y Cueto located in Plaza the los Refinadores number 1. The daily rate is 20 € aprox. Once there you can take a taxi to Corral del Rey number12. the ride costs 6€ aprox. or arrive walking if the luggage is not heavy it takes 10 mins aprox.

No parking indeed but a public and underground one is not far. It's however recommended to try to drive as near as possible to the hotel to drop off any luggage and go parking afterwards (not so difficult with any decent GPS) and not the contrary, local cobblestones can be very painful for it indeed ;-)

we had a double and then they rolled in a roll-away twin... it was fairly uncomfortable... as the other contributor said, best to call the hotel or check their on-line options for the rooms. G'luck!
