Detailed Reviews
Good location plenty of bars and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Bus goes straight to the city centre and takes 5 mins. As for the hotel I was a bit disappointed. The first morning we were woken by the cleaning staff collecting their cleaning equipment as we were located right next door to the cleaning cupboard. I would suggest they don’t locate rooms next to this cupboard. Room smelt of sewage during our whole stay.
First morning I wanted coffee and they refused as the bar doesn’t open until 1030 and we didn’t purchase breakfast. They do not provide Tea & Coffee making facilities in the bedroom so they should allow guests to purchase coffee before 1030. In the end they did oblige and I was able to get a coffee.
Rooms a bit dated and need decorating.

Thank you for sharing your comments with other Tripadvisor users. We have taken note of the noise and will inform the staff to minimize the noise. Cafeteria is closed until 10.30 and until that time we only offer buffet, sorry this has been an inconvenience. Guest can ask for tea facilities in room and we offer to the guest if they ask in front desk. Every single comments help us to improve.

Lovely hotel . Staff very helpful , great breakfast , rooms quite noisy as stunning courtyard but with a huge tree that has birds nesting in it in their hundreds . So loud bird song in morning and even late at night . Rooms very clean . Would not say it’s a 4 star . More 3 star . Only complaint is that it is about 25-30 minute walk into main area . Uber taxis are cheaper .

Dear Miranda, as we have indicated to other clients who say on Tripadvisor that we arent within the historic center of Seville, we want to inform we are 20 -30 minutes walk from the Cathedral, within the walled area of the city, so inside city centre. We like to see that you enjoyed our impressive patio. We hope you stay again wit us in you next visit to Seville.

This was a nice hotel and good value. The layout of the building and rooms helps to keep cool in hot Spanish weather - does mean the room was a little dark but that's worth it. Comfortable bed, good bathroom, and a delicious breakfast buffet with a wide selection. Staff were great at keeping everything topped up even shortly before the end of service, so it was rare to run out of anything. Nice bar and the prices are sensible, though as you would expect, a little more than local bars. You can walk to most of the main attractions in under half an hour, but it's cheaper than staying in the centre, so this is a good compromise if you're happy to walk. Nice pool, and the sunbathing terrace area is split over different levels so there's a bit more privacy. The courtyard is lovely to sit with coffee.

The reception staff were excellent helpful and accommodating with it manned overnight which was great for late drinks and my late arrival due to a canceled flight.
Breakfast was excellent in a shaded courtyard with large olive and orange trees.
The location was perfect by the Macarena gate with local buses nearby as well as the hop on /off service .
The location was quiet but nearby traditional tapas bars.
I spent many hours joyfully lost but finding the hotel was always easy
The room was spacious with an excellent but quiet airconditioning.
The roof pool was perfect after exploring often with air temperatures above 40 degrees.
The location was very quiet but within east walking to this magnificent city.
One night a flamenco/ religious parade passed the front door , a wonderful atmosphere
I shall return to this wonderful hotel, and recommend to everyone I talk to

2star hotel service,
Check in was laborious to say the least. I was also told that I should buy the €15 breakfast as it’s very difficult to get a breakfast in Seville city this is factually incorrect as the city, and the neighbourhoods are full of bakeries and cafés.
I was told there was parking prior to booking at the hotel. It’s in fact to Street over there is no one to take the car at the door and return it in fact, one of the staff/maintenance, men, sit into your car and direct you as you drive, which was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional
Why the hotel rooms pleasant there is no soundproofing and very little natural light
Also, the bathroom is very dated with cracks and chips on tiles, carpentry and mirror leading to a generally unpleasant experience
We were walking early from my sleep at about 7 am from the dragging of chairs around a central patio by the cleaning staff when I mention this and check out all I got was a shug of the shoulders staff are generally impolite unpleasant, and someone is rude
I was offered no help back to my car with luggage or any type of assistance. The only priority of the staff is to get payment from you as quickly as possible
This is probably the most unfriendly rudest. Worst experience I’ve had in a hotel in a very long time.
As somebody who books rooms in Seville city six times a year I will never return to this hotel

Dear customer, we would like to point out a few things to you: Our breakfast costs 14 euros per person. We have never said that it is difficult to have breakfast in our city,. Sorry but simply this is not true. We have a car park, but we do not offer valet parking. As it is difficult to drive in the city centre, our staff will help you to get to the car park. We take note of your suggestions to improve every day. Thank you.

The hotel is great for family trips, we were there for one week in March with our 6 year old daughter and it was great. Location of the hotel is ideal, and having acces to a garage in the crowded historical centre is priceless if you are by (rented) car.
Hotel personnel great, roomservice great, location great, breakfast great.
The only thing which could be better is a more optimal usage of the cupboard, putting more shelves, respectively more storage facilities in the room and bathroom.

Stayed here for our last trip to Spain
The accommodation was comfortable and the food was tasty.
The location is in the old part of the city but there are multiple transportation options.
The roads are tooooooo narrow. It might be okay from their normal standard but we found it very very difficult. We took our our car and drove around spain. The hotel provides a garage facility (chargeable) but the mere thought of driving in and out from there gave us shivers.
Might be a good idea to block a car space when you book this hotel because if they don't have space in the garage you will have to park on the road and a couple of scratches are guaranteed!

An attractive hotel in a quiet area. Very clean and staff friendly. The courtyard at the centre of the hotel was a lovely green space to eat, drink or relax and the reception area had beautiful tiling. The rear of the hotel with the bedrooms was more modern.
Had a triple room which was very big and good sized wardrobe. No balcony. There is a quiet walkway outside the rooms overlooking the courtyard.
Food was fine although some dinner choices not available. Breakfast buffet choices were good, although surprisingly for Seville, the orange juice was very watery.
There was a pool and nice sun terrace on the level below, but we didn't have time to use them.
It is in the Macarena area just inside the old city walls. This is a more traditional working class area away from the centre mainly used by the locals and the road outside was very quiet. It's not glitzy but lots of interesting buildings.
We found it was very easy to walk to the centre. It took us about 15 mins to walk to Setas and from there you can cross to the main well known shops, then Cathedral, Alcazar etc - it all seems to be more or less a straight line and a pleasant walk which felt very safe. There are regular buses C3 & C4 nearby but it was extremely hot when we went, so eventually we used a taxi a couple of times which was quite cheap.
There were plenty of small bars/cafes and shops in the roads near to the hotel and it is a short walk to the Alameda de Hercules, a very large square with lots of restaurants, bars and play area which was very popular with the locals. There is an old local market hall nearby selling fresh produce and a flea market on Thursdays, and in the other direction just by the city walls, the Macarena Church which houses their famous Macarena Madonna.
If I returned, I would stay here again.

The hotel was lovely, room was spacious and very clean, very comfortable bed with lovely bedding, and lovely white large towels that we had changed often. would have like coffee facilities as we do like one when we wake up. The staff were amazing and very helpful. Breakfast was good, plenty of variety for everyone's taste. We ate 3 times in the evening there and the food was delicious. We were there for a week so we could go and visit everything which was amazing and not far to walk from the hotel to all the sights that we visited. When we came back there was always fresh cold lemon or orange water that we could help ourselves to. If we were to visit Seville again we would definitely stay at hotel San Gil again.

Hotel San Gil is a short walk to the squares and coffee patios of the old town. It's food is good and I have no complaints about the pool. However, when we went to our room upon our arrival, we found it hot and steamy. We tried the air conditioning and found it wasn't working well. Our rooms windows opened onto a walkway, so we weren't comfortable leaving with then open. We went to the desk about this, didn't get any satisfaction. They said they had no other rooms. It wasn't until our third night that they finally got around to sending someone to look at the air conditioning.
They were unable to fix it that night and came back the next day. Finally on our last night (5rth night) they brought us a fan - which was inadequate.

Dear Customer, thank you for your comments. We are very sorry for your experience due to the problem with the air conditioning. We want to indicate that it has been a specific problem and that it has already been solved. We want to apologize for the delay in resolving it. We know that the best solution is not to offer a fan but a room change, if it is not possible to fix it at that time. If we were full the day of your complaint, we could have changed your room the next day. We do not want this to serve as an excuse. Thank you and we want to indicate that each comment helps us to improve.

It does not have a heated pool.
Yes in the reception there is a locked room where luggage can be stored until checking in.They will be happy to help you.
No they did not but I am sure that they would provide if asked
Dear the hotel is 24 hours open. Thank you.
I believe your best bet is to phone the hotel for advice. Our arrival and departure times were late and very early so public transport was a non-starter. A taxi (30 Euro) was very much the best bet in our case. Sorry that I cannot be of more help.
