Hotel Colón Gran Meliá earns high marks for its central location, making it a breeze for guests to explore nearby attractions and dining options. The rooms are lauded for being modern and comfortable, but there are occasional gripes about soundproofing and lighting. Service at the hotel is regularly celebrated, with the staff's attentiveness and the concierge service receiving special mentions.
Guests are captivated by the artistic atmosphere, although some find the elevator music intrusive. Amenities, including a rooftop pool and the breakfast spread, are popular, and while the hotel is generally considered a good value, some visitors have reservations about the costs.

Beautiful hotel in excellent location with an extremely welcoming staff. We really enjoyed the flamenco show and guitar player - it was outstanding and provided by the hotel free of charge. Not provided everyday so check the schedule. Highly recommend this hotel.

Very nice, neoclassical luxury hotel just 10 minutes walk to the historic center. The hotel has a very nice lobby and the check in experience was smooth and relaxed. The rooms are quite large with plenty of closets and a large bathroom with double sink and with shower and bathtub. Rooms are bright, immaculate and creatively decorated. The hotel has all the facilities you expect from a luxury hotel and a very nice rooftop pool area. See picture. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall for the price we paid of between €200 and €250 including breakfast t is definitively worth it.

We are currently staying as part of a 3 night trip to Seville. I booked this as a celebration with my daughter and assumed a member of the Leading Hotels of the World would give some standard of quality - this is not the case at The Colon Grand Melia. After 1 night I wished I had booked a different hotel.
On arrival late last night we were shown to our Family Suite and as it was dark the curtains in the room were closed. Only on waking this morning did we realise that’s because this room doesn’t have any windows to give natural light. Room 130 feels like an underground bunker and it’s also a disabled room which I didn’t request. We were shocked to see our bath and FACE towels had been stacked on the disabled shower seat. Even if this seat has been cleaned between guests I do not want to use a towel when it’s been used to sit someone to shower them. It’s disgusting and unhygienic.
This room has a general scruffy and unclean feel with a stained carpet from a leak, the towel issue and the whole hotel has a choking smell of air freshener. We can occasionally smell a whiff of drains so I assume the air freshener is to try to cover this. It’s being pumped out through the air con as it’s choking on every floor.
We have been moved to a different room today but we had to compromise as on our original booking we had 2 double beds and we now have a much smaller room with 2 single beds. No adjustment to the room rate has been made and I assume a smaller room with smaller beds would be a lower room rate.
This is a poor hotel with an average breakfast, slow service and very poor attention to detail.

The Colon Gran Melia is well located to explore all of the top attractions in the centre of Seville. The Alcazar and the Cathedral are around a 15 minute walk away and there are lots of different pleasant ways to get to and from sites through the bustling streets, many narrow and pedestrianised.
Our room on the 5th floor was large and well appointed. It overlooked the adjacent Baroque Church and as a result it was very quiet given the hotel is in a busy area and we were able to keep the window open at night. Rooms on the roadside were presumably noisier. Each floor is 'themed' for a different Spanish painter with the door for each room displaying a different painting - felt a little bit like an art gallery walking the corridors. We had a Red Level room and I think the extra amenities this provides are well worth the additional cost - from being able to enjoy a full breakfast in an elegant dining area, a red level lounge serving snacks and drinks from 12-22pm and complementary late check out (if available). Being able to pop into the lounge at different times when weary from long walks to enjoy complementary tapas and a glass of wine or two was special.
The staff were uniformly excellent and very friendly, something they clearly work at and take pride in.
Overall, the hotel provided a memorable experience fitting with the beauty of Seville.

The Gran Colon is truly a lovely hotel with excellent staff to cater to your needs. The rooms are somewhat small like many European hotels and they have showers inside a high step bathtub. When we told them that we had difficulty with the high step bathtub, they changed our room to one with a shower. The red level is worth the extra cost as the lounge is lovely and the premium breakfast in a less crowded room is also worth the extra cost. We would stay here again.

Fabulous hotel great welcoming service from the minute we arrived we were escorted to the lobby and our bags were handled for us and a welcome drink provided . Very spacious room and bathroom. I usually prefer no carpeting in a hotel room and this room was carpeted but very clean room. AC top notch for Summer in Spain. Bathroom had double sinks and a large shower I could have down without the window from shower into main bedroom even with the curtain closed you still get the light from the bathroom. Turndown chocolate always a bonus . I was concerned about not having red level service because no availability but the regular breakfast in the restaurant was excellent a hot option was available as well as pastries, fruit and cold Meats and cheeses. We also had dinner in the restaurant one night which was the best meal we had in Spain. Lobby bar a plus. Rooftop pool was refreshing given the hot temps. Just very small and too bad they can’t find a way to add more seating as it gets very busy in the afternoon . An excellent place to stay in Sevilla.

Clean room serviced 2x/day. Multiple pillows and comfortable (if a little lumpy) bed. Room included Barcelona's highend Carner toiletries from soaps to conditioner. Shaving and dental kits were also provided. They have the best hair dryer I've seen at a hotel (Black Mambo). If this is you're only destination, just pack a hairbrush and sunscreen! Water, tea, and coffee are free in the room too.
Upon check-in, we upgraded from Premium to Superior room because in the Premium room, the tub and shower are combined. With the Superior room, we also had access to a club with snacks and beverages (including alcoholic beverages) from 12-22:00. With the upgrade, breakfast was open until 12 and served in a different area. We tried both levels of breakfast. Both have a great selection of cheese, meats and fruits and at both you are served a hot meal upon request from the menu.
Our room had two TV's. We found just a few English channels. We could access the back to attach a Fire Stick, but power was an issue (no available plugs nearby). We ended up plugging the Fire Stick into an extra cordless charger we brought. Working outlets were all Euro plugs; there were no working USB nor USC outlets.
The gym is small, but adequate. The roof top pool is shallow, but the whole set-up is lovely. The only disappointment was that the area isn't cleaned up as often as the rest of the hotel and the service button didn't work. Once when we came up we saw most chairs were taken and at another time, later in the day, the place was a mess with used towels strewn all over.
The staff all spoke English and were nice and helpful. Note: We were informed by locals that this hotel is the preferred hotel of matadors during the bull fighting season, which helped explain the lobby décor and the hotel restaurant (features bull tail stew)!

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism by the attentive staff. The rooms were sumptuous, spacious and immaculately clean,
The hotel's amenities were of a high standard, with a luxurious swimming pool, a relaxing spa and gourmet restaurants offering delicious and fine dishes,
The service was impeccable: from the concierge who helped us organize our visits, to the room service which was discreet and prompt. We also appreciated the little touches, like the chocolates on the pillow in the evening.
The hotel's location was ideal, located in the heart of the city, making it easy for us to explore tourist attractions and vibrant neighborhoods. We had an unforgettable family stay at this 5-star establishment and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional luxury experience!

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights to get to know Sevilla. It was fantastic. It is very well located, and it is not necessary to use a car to see the city's tourist attractions. The hotel has been completely renovated, has beautiful decoration and differentiated service. Upon arrival, we were very well received, they showed us the entire structure of the hotel and told us a little about the history of the building. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, with a good bathroom and impeccable cleanliness. The breakfast was wonderful, very varied and with quality products. But what stands out most is the attention with which the entire hotel team treated us. They pay attention to the smallest details to make your stay unique and unforgettable. If possible, we suggest opting for RedLevel when booking. We really enjoyed the experience. We strongly recommend choosing this hotel and we will definitely return to Seville to relive the experience!
