Revamped Royal Townhouse Once the summer residence of Empress Eugenia de Montijo (Napoleon III´s wife), Hotel Claude Marbella is a 17th- century townhouse that has been revamped and restyled to meld authentic period features with modern design, setting a new benchmark in the boutique-is- beautiful league of southern Spanish hotels. This latest chic retreat takes its name from the late Claude Devoize, the French Opera singer, whose home this townhouse was back in the 70s and 80s, hosting endless soirees and cultural gatherings. The focus of Hotel Claude is its marble-flagged patio and its unique romantic roof terrace, overlooking the bustling old town of Marbella. The seven rooms, divided into 6 Superior Deluxe Rooms and 1 Suite, have been designed individually and each boasting their own unique personality and feel, though all come equipped with the latest in comfort and technology. The Suite Francesca is the only room that looks out onto the old town’s main street. A large balcony and a huge floor-to-ceiling window keep it bright and airy, and the high, wood-beamed ceilings and decorative arch leading to the minimalist mosaic-fitted bathroom create a sense of spaciousness. All 6 Superior Deluxe Rooms are located to the back of the building, overlooking neighbouring patios and roofs. Up in the eaves, The Flamand room overlooks the roof terrace and has its own private stairwell leading up to a smart loft-style studio with glossy oak floors and a semi-open-plan bathroom. Listening to the church chime outside and looking out over the steeple, you feel like a princess in a tower. Savannah and North African-themed Marroqui are joined by a courtyard, making them ideal for families or friends travelling together. Small properties can sometimes feel stifling, but not here, and the design incorporates a flurry of velvet, purples, reds and cream colours. Once the a la carte breakfast has been served on the roof terrace or the black and white themed “bijou” style dining room, guests are left to their own devices. Focusing on showing guests a slice of the old Marbella, in addition to the Costa del Sol´s beaches and golf courses, Hotel Claude emphasises on slowing down and enjoying the surroundings. You´d be hard-pressed to find a retreat as slick or private as The Claude anywhere in Marbella.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our stay was amazing. The hotel accommodations are super comfortable and the staff is OUTSTANDING. Driving in old town is confusing at best. The streets are extremely narrow and only allow for one-way driving in many areas making getting to the hotel a challenge. Not only did they walk a block with us to get to the closest location we could drive with our car, they also drove with us to the parking garage and walked us back to the hotel from there. Their customer service goes above and beyond!

In the midst of the touristy Old Town of Marbella, one hotel stands out - Claude Hotel. With only seven unique rooms, it feels like visiting old friends in their magnificently restored Spanish townhouse. The service and attention to detail is impeccable, and very, very personal. The Team caters for your wants and wishes with a “can do” attitude and charm. And the breakfast… Oh la la! To die for. And so is the view from the charming, secluded and private roof terrace where one can indulge in the before mentioned breakfast, or a healthy drink from the honesty bar in the reception area. Truly a five-star exeperience!

Hotel Claude exceeded all of our expectations. Newly renovated, the building and rooms are well-designed, comfortable, and immaculately maintained. The location is perfect. Located in the center of Marbella’s Old Town, you’re steps away from dozens of cafes, restaurants, and boutiques. Breakfast should not be skipped. Arguably the best meals we had while in Marbella. Where the hotel really shines is in its service. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful—eager to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The next time we’re in Marbella we’ll definitely be returning to Hotel Claude.

The hotel and staff were perfect. We stayed for only three days and wish we could have stayed longer. We always felt noticed and cared about by the staff at all hours of the day. The staff was amazing, we cannot say this enough. They were so attentive and thoughtful. Everyone from the front desk, to the room cleaner, the chef, and the handyman. I think we saw and met almost everyone at this hotel and they were so friendly to us. The room was always perfect. If we left the room when we came back the room always seemed to be tidy again with towels folded, the bed made and little items always found their way to an area that was out the way and easy to find again. The breakfast at the hotel was absolutely delightful on the patio in the morning and the honesty bar at night was

The most beautiful experience we have had at a hotel. The staff was amazing and they included so many personal touches and complements throughout our stay. The location was perfect and easily walkable to all the shops and beach. My husband and I will definitely stay here again next time we are in Marbella.

Luxurious hotel with excellent personalized service. The 4 course breakfast with warm croissants, homemade yogurt and beautifully garnished egg platters were delicious. Towels and robes were the thickest I've ever seen. Staff, including Olivia & Hanna were so attentive & helpful.
