The Marbella Club We have just returned from our week ling stay at the exquisite Marbella Club and once again we were totally thrilled! We traveled from New York City during these crazy times overseas initially for work in Switzerland and I was concerned about a holiday in Spain - another country with different restrictions. But we decided to return to the the coastal beauty of southern Spain and to relax and enjoy life in the elegance, grace, beauty of your timeless property. It truly is a glorious setting with divine Mediterranean views! It was perfect! We loved the view from our room 316! At the Marbella club we experienced professionalism and kindness from the entire staff! From correspondence with GM Julian Cabanillas before our journey to the moment we arrived both concierges Ricardo and Antonio were smart and I know each day they are greeted with different tasks, challenges, and opportunities for which they always found a new solution. We love the spa and the gym both my husband and I had treatments he had a massage I had two facials in one week! top level - I’ve had facials around the world and Julia & Natalie were so thorough and skilled and kind! My husband worked out at the gym and enjoyed his 2 training sessions with Victor who also recommended we go to Ronda for the day.. We were impressed and thinking of coming next September for bullfight there! They recommended our driver, Antonio who took us to Ronda for day trip. It was a fantastic day with views not to be missed! And Antonio fantastically safe driver for roads that were nearly treacherous! We had Antonio take us to the airport last day (roads not nearly as serpentine as Ronda) goes but he’s terrific driver we felt very safe! We love the MC Beach restaurant for lazy lunch and one dinner too at sunset! The light is exquisite! And the food awesome - we ate sushi and spaghetti lobster everyday and everyone who works there is top level attuned to guests needs! We packed a lot into our stay with you and enjoyed pool, beach, spa, wellness and your elegant dinner outside at your classic restaurant was 4 nights of wonderful dinners was a treat and Martin singing was fun at bar! Felt very spoiled! Lot’s of memories! Marbella Club must take very good care of the staff as they are all so professional, kind and happy! Hope to be back soon.

Reviews are prone to being a little biased when you are greeted on arrival to be told your very nice suite has been upgraded to a 2 Bedroom Villa with Private Pool, but here goes anyway. Met at the airport by car organised by hotel. Very pleasant driver and efficient transfer. The room was incredible, and stocked with lots of snacks and drinks, which were supplemented most days by something extra (wine, chocolates, cheese etc). Rooms were spotlessly cleaned and maintained twice a day by lovely staff, and room service was always very quick. We didn't use the beach but the pools were lovely (although can imagine rather noisy in the school holidays ). We ate in El Grill on two occasions. Food and service were excellent, but even better was the food and service in El Patio, which we only discovered a few days before we left. One table in El Grill was rather poorly located at the top of some steps with a lot of people traffic but that is a minor gripe. The highlight for us however is the Garden Bar, a fantastic venue with a live pianist and singers both before and after dinner. A great atmosphere in a stunning location and very knowledgeable cocktail staff. The whole place has a great history of course and the "Winter" facilities make it look like an excellent all year round venue. Just one complaint, if your breakfast is included, you have to take it in El Grill. Anything via Room Service is charged. The breakfast buffet area in El Grill is really not big enough to cope at the busy, later times. That is the only part that doesn't feel truly "5 Star". We will be back though...soon as we can !

Marbella Club is exceptional. So - a 3 star rating? We stayed for 3 nights in a Junior Suite which was lovely - but the patio outside with sun beds was a communal area, with staff, maintenance men with drills at 9am, and other clientele passing across our doorways…..we’re looking for more privacy for our £5000 for 3 nights price tag…. The Grill was fabulous, and the service in El Patio amazing. The MC Club served beautiful lunches overlooking the sea…. However, the hotel bar was disappointing. The first night we had lovely cocktails and the service was great. The second night we ate in El Patio which doesn’t have a dress code, and then made our way to the bar for post-dinner drinks. My partner was wearing shorts; smart linen shorts, a shirt, and full-toed leather driver shoes - he was refused entry by the lady bar manager (?). She enquired if we were resident in the hotel, and suggested that he went to get changed…. The dress-code is apparently no shorts or sports wear or sports shoes. Now, we understand rules are rules, so we left the bar without question - even though we felt her manner was a bit rude to be honest, and she was quite loud in her demands in front of other guests. The following night we ate in Nobu in a neighbouring hotel and then returned to the bar for drinks. Another guest; a lady was wearing blue linen shorts and a cropped top. She had been accepted as appropriately attired, and been served without question. The rules do not state the gender of the shorts that are acceptable….. The bar manager was clearly uncomfortable with our reappearance after the previous night as she avoided eye contact, and pleasantries and merely showed us to a table. We totally understand that standards are to be maintained, but surely they are for everyone, and not to be at the discretion of the staff, where they pick out some, and ignore others. We really liked the hotel - but this has left a sour taste, and rather felt like victimisation and a poorly judged decision and attitude on the basis of a member of staff.

My father and I tried this hotel for lunch one day and we were hooked. The service and food and drink was perfect. The place was dreamy. It is worth its 5 stars, it was luxury but had a lot of cuteness about it. We crammed in a lot more lunches and cocktails during our golf trip. If we come again, we will book this hotel to stay for sure.
