Has gone downhill since the virus ---- clean room but place bordering on shabby --- hotel's parking not available and NO BREAKFAST was a surprise; was not really made clear on website -- wont go there again

Astoria Hotel in Trier is a lovely hotel very close to the city centre. Paula the owner went out of her way to help me when I left a bag on the train, which contained my medication. Paula helped me fill in a form to the railway which resulted in me getting my bag back and also helped me get another lot of tablets. The hotel was very comfortable with a great breakfast. The welcome glass of champagne was greatly appreciated.

I gave this place five stars-no it isn’t a « five star hotel ». It is a good place to get a nice night of sleep and breakfast. The owner bends over backwards to be helpful. I arrived early and he invited to use the bathroom, stash my belongings and while I parked in their nearby garage, he made sure my room was readied. The hotel is three minutes from the main area of tourist interest in town and though I had barely heard of Trier, it is not to be missed by tourists. The room was small and clean with a simple bathtub. Had the place not been dirt cheap, I would not have rated it as highly. So what does this place do to earn my rating? Clean, cheap, well located and exceptionally warm and friendly. I suppose if I had paid more, I might have gotten a larger room, but how much room does one person need?…

While location is great and breakfast is good we found staff to be unfriendly and room very small and uncomfortable. The room was tiny and could hardly turn around in the bathroom. Breakfast room is nice and breakfast is good.

The hotel was in a good location for access to the town centre and old town. On arrival we were met with a warm welcome and a glass of champagne, appreciated after a long bike ride along the Mosel. The staff were very helpful, letting us have the use of a UK/Euro adapter to charge our phones. A good breakfast the following morning.

The Hotel Astoria accommodated 7 in our party when we were in Trier this week. It is conveniently located near the town center and an easy walk to shopping and historical sites. The rooms were really comfortable and decorated so well. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms so clean. The breakfast was fabulous with incredible attention to detail. It is reasonably priced and a great place to stay while visiting Trier.

Location is good, although the street was quite loud and you can hear everything form the windows, they are quite old. The price was too expensive for what they offer. Bed was very small for 2, we thought its a single roome they gave us.Breakfast was ok.

Paula and Sudhir are lovely hosts and this hotel is ideally situated for exploring Trier -- a ten minute walk from the train station and just minutes from the Porta Nigra and main market square. While the rooms are a bit dated, the delicious breakfast, engaging hosts, and central location more than make up for it. If you are looking for a small, family-run place to stay, I can't recommend this enough. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Trier.

This hotel is very well located within walking distance of all there is to see in Trier. The parking is about 5 minutes walk away. Reception was very friendly with a welcome drink and we were given the choice of two rooms. The room is a bit small but has all it needs to have for a good price. Wifi is good.
