This was our 2nd stay here at Hans Clipper and we thoroughly enjoyed the maisonette apartment with balcony. The kitchen has enough space to move about unlike most other serviced apartments in Europe. The location is excellent and major tourist attractions like Miniatur Wonderland, Maritime Museum, St. Pauli's, St. Michael's etc. are just a few minutes walk away. Although there is no restaurant on the premises for breakfast, you get coupons to a nearby Portuguese coffee shop and you can redeem these any time of the day. But of course, they charge 10 euros per coupon. There is a REWE supermarket just behind the property but beware that it's closed on Sundays.
Landungsbrücken train station is just down the road (0.5 km) and another 2 minutes walk will get you to the ferry point. Hamburg Hauptbahnoff (main train station) and airport are 15 and 30 minutes away and a taxi will cost 12 and 30 euros respectively.

We stayed at the Clipper Boardinghouse at the Michel for a few days. When we arrived, we used the in-house underground car park and didn't need our car for the rest of the days. From the underground car park, you can take the elevator directly to the rooms. We had booked an executive apartment. This was really very good and not at all shabby, but very well thought out and with a comfortable feeling of space.
The location right by the Michel is outstanding and only a few minutes' walk to the Landungsbrücken or Baumwall, which means you are already on the banks of the Elbe. For breakfast, we tried Mili's Café and also used the branches of the Schanzenbäckerei, which also offer the option of having a quicker breakfast on site.
In the evening, the Portuguese Quarter offers various culinary influences from all over the world (Portuguese, Brazilian, Spanish, Italian, etc.). In summer, there was a Mediterranean flair on the streets and life took place outside, which you noticed surprisingly little of in the Clipper Boardinghouse.
The REWE supermarket right on the next street is also ideal for stocking up on all the essentials for everyday use.
The Clipper Boardinghouse was an ideal starting point every day to explore Hamburg and a welcome place to rest for the night in the evening.
If we were to be in Hamburg again, the Clipper Boardinghouse would definitely be on our shortlist for accommodation again.

We had a Studio Deluxe.
The room was very large (about 40m2) and was equipped with a kitchenette (fridge, dishwasher, microwave/grill and stove).
The bed was very comfortable.
Located opposite the Michel in the Portuguese quarter. This offers a very large selection of restaurants and also some bars and cafes.
You are in a few minutes walk to the landing bridges or even in the Speicherstadt. The connection with public transport is good.
The hotel has its own underground car park (€ 25,-- per night)
The next stay at the hotel we have already booked again.

Very nice modern boardinghouse with perfect decor.
We had a separate living-sleeping area with a kitchenette.
Very friendly welcome.
Great location, 15 min walk to the Elbphilharmonie and Miniatur Wunderland.
The landing bridges can be reached in 5 minutes.
For breakfast you are in Milis Café in 4 min.
During our next stay in Hamburg we will definitely stay here again.

A hotel apartment in need of a coat of paint and an upgrade of the decor. Functional and very clean, but lacking in charm. Situated in a quiet residential area close to the harbour close to the Hamurg city centre

Tolles Boardinghouse. The long one is great. 5 minutes walk to the landing bridges and the Speicherstadt, 15 minutes to the town hall and St. Pauli. Very nice large modern rooms. For my taste, the mattresses could be a little softer. That's just a matter of taste. We always like to come here.

Dear guest We would like to thank you for your stay and for your subsequent feedback. This is always important to us, as it is the only way we can constantly improve. We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us and that you had a bad impression. As January is usually the busiest time of year, many businesses have to carry out necessary work during this period, such as us having to paint some areas. As soon as this work is done, the smell will be gone. We particularly regret the impression of our colleagues on site, as they are normally all very helpful and the well-being of our guests is very important to them. It would be nice to welcome you again to give you a second and better impression. Yours sincerely Your Clipper Team

The appartments are situated very good and are clean. However we travel a lot and we can not advise these appartments to people who travel with a baby or a child. With big windows, no airco and a noise street it becomes a sauna very quick if the weather is good. If you close the curtains it isn't dark and the bathroom is too small for a baby bed. Thereby the beds are very small and wifi and parking cost you a lot of money.

Urban architectural coupling of glass with steel in down town Hamburg, this lofty place is a true gem. As soon as you walk in the room you get this home city feeling only movies can give you.
Two-story unified apartments with interior staircase leading to the second floor which pertrudes like a balcony inside the room. Bathroom is upstairs right next to the bed featuring a spacious tub- gotta love that.
A wall sized paneled window runs along both floors making the outside visible from any point in this room. Stereo system, flat panel, baroque styled couch with warm lighting all add in making the room unique. Kitchen is small but practical and parking is available by online reservation.
It's very close to the subway, various different restaurants types and cafes. Still, there is cafe downstairs where basic breakfast can be purchased.
The staff is friendly and the neighborhood fairly quiet for its location.
In January 2013 I'll be going there for the 5th time.

My German partner and I spent 4 nights in this apartment hotel in Hamburg in Oct 06.
It is in a strange but good location--sort of between the harbour and the city. The area itself is lively and features a lot of Spanish and Portugese bars and restaurants.
Well run but a little run down. Designed for business people. Near the R'bahn if that is your thing (I found it terrible).
