We stayed here for 6 nights. I would not hesitate to recomend this hotel.
Staff are really friendly and extremely helpful. Rooms are spacious with a very good size table/desk and chairs, settee,microwave, separate bath, shower and toilet, fridge and plenty of hanging and space. The house keeping is excellent. All areas of the hotel are spotless and the rooms are serviced daily.
Laundry and ironing room is free of charge . There is a gym, bar and buffet breakie as well as free tea and coffee and muffins in the morning. Underground across the road and close to restaurants and shopping. We had no triuble walking to the Central station as well though so.e people may prefer a taxi.
Great place to stay. Particularly goodnif you have a few nights like we did and need a little more space.

We really liked the hotel although the room doesnt have a new decoration.There are twokinds of bath;shower and bathtub it is good that you can use whichever you want.The receiptionists were really friendly and helpful,I liked their hospitability.The room was big enough for us.
Negatives:The car park is expensive,there should be a discount for the hotel guests
The maids are careless,they dont knock the door to come inside,they just open the door and say something in native language,they even dont apologize for this rudeness.

We stayed for 3 nights and we liked the hotel. Rooms are very spacious and quite comfortable. There was also a microwave oven and minibar, so it can be convenient to prepare a light breakfast at your room. Free coffe is served at the lobby, but serving hours can be extended a little bit more.

Novotel Suites Hamburg City hotel is easily accessible by public transportation. U1 U-Bahn station is 50 meters from the hotel, and the Central Railway station is only one stop from the hotel. You can also walk to the Central Station (about 10 min.) or to the Rathaus Platz (15 min.).
I had a good room on the 7th floor, with good and quiet heating/air conditioning. The room was well insulated from outside noise and it was spacious. Furnishing was OK, with evident signs of wear.
The bathroom was good, with shower and bathtub, but here was nowhere where you could put your soap in the shower.
The toilette was separated from the bathroom, in a claustrophobic 1-square meter room.
Breakfast was ok, with some choices available; staff were OK, too.

I was expecting the same quality I've had in other Novotel
Missing blinds, shower and lavatories soap missing since our arrival and never replaced. I need to buy in a close market.
Housekeeping didn't even collected used glasses or vacuum the floor.
Used towels left under the restroom cabinet.

At check in on a Sunday evening I parked outside in the street and went in to ask where to park my car. I was asked if I will stay at the hotel. Is the parking really a secret kept for guests only???
It was then a story on how to pay the parking.
I gave my name and she found my booking. I could then park. We went up to the reception and I guess that 10 minutes has passed. I was asked my name again and she could not find my booking.
She had arranged the check in while we parked but apparently forgot that and me while I parked.
As I am asked to, and normally do, I presented my ACCOR membership card. It was treated like something the cat drag it. A short look and I was told that she did not need it. I hope for an upgrade, maybe is what not available. But I normally get a welcome drink coupon but not here.
I asked if breakfast was included, it was not. Fine, no problem. I was not even asked if I would like to include breakfast. If I was the manager, I would instruct my staff to try to sell in more services, for example breakfast to guests.
On the second day I asked the front desk if he could suggest a large supermarket somewhere in Hamburg? There is a Lidl 200m from the hotel, which we had visited but it was rather small. He suggested this Lidl shop and I asked if there is not another one in Hamburg that is larger? The answer was a bit of a surprise: -No they are all the same size. End of discussion as he walked away.
Google helped us out and we drove to a big supermarket, turned out that not all supermarkets are the same size.
The rooms where warm, but it is summer so nothing else to expect.
But the plastic walled toilet and shower room does not give a quality impression. I have seen this kind at low budget Formula One hotels before but did not expect them in Novotel.
This is a Novotel Suits hotel with microwave and a fridge. I guess we should be able to heat food and have a simple meal in the room. There is not a single piece of utensils in the room. I went down to the breakfast, the one we apparently was not welcome too, and borrowed knife, fork and a spoon.
By the way, thanks for the 1 bottle of water for our 3 nights stay.
If I should rate this Novotel against others I stayed at, it has turned out to be quit some, This one will be on the very last spot.

I found Novotel Suites in Hamburg below my quality expectations. The room was spacious but poorly decorated and quite weared. Besides, it was annoying that while there was a kettle in the room, there were no cups or tea bags or coffee to use it with!

A 15 minute walk from the Hamburg central station, very close to the Ubahn stop. Clean, spacious suite which was on the upper floor with a view of the main street so it was pretty quiet. I expected the bath amenities to have body lotion...

I visited Suitehotel Hamburg in November 2004 with my husband + another couple.
We wanted to have affordable accommodation, yet outside Reeperbahn. We all liked this hotel - it was opened a few month earlier, so the rooms were so nice and clean.
The hotel concept is nice - the rooms are not actually suites (well for me a suite would mean more luxury), but they were big and there are both shower and bath in them. And what's best, there is a separate toilet (very uncommon in hotels).
The hotel services are limited to the reception and bar. We did not try the breakfast at the hotel - it was a box which you could buy from downstairs. Furthermore, there were other type of meals for sale as well; very good idea in my opinion. The hotel offered free coffee/tea and croissants in the morning which was sufficient for us, because we wanted to have nice meals outside the hotel.
The location of the hotel was very convenient for our purposes (shopping and dining > just a weekend trip), there are 2 subway stops - one next to hotel and another one 5 minutes' walk away.
I would definitely stay again at this hotel, especially the weekend rate cooncept is great for tourists.

The hotel is well located in St. Georg, near the main station and down town, walking distance. Lots of turkish and indian shops around, were you can shop for the next Bollywood television evening...
I walked into the hotel without a reservation to check out the rooms and I stayed. Reception staff was young, friendly and efficient with a warm smile.
Rooms are big and well appointed. Very clean. Can be used by up to 4 people, but then the storage/ wardrobe space would be a challenge.
I personally would have appreciated china and cutlery in the room, but you can get plastic cups and cutlery in the lobby area. On the computer in the lobby you can use Internet and Skype for free. There is coffee and croissants in the morning for free until 10.30, and a small shopping corner with drinks and snacks.

from the airport, take the S1+U1 (change in the Central Station). The hotel is just in front of the U1 Station called Lohmühlenstraße.
Enjoy!
Most channels were in German. I do not recall an English channel. CNN was not available. Normally most German hotels have at least one or two English channels even if not movie. Maybe it was a temporary situation.
