Detailed Reviews
With this hotel you get cosy rooms, clean and fancy gym and wellness all for the price of a normal hotel room. It is located near 'the lake' behind the old city but if you get one of those scooters (electric ones, just get one of the apps) you get to the old city easily and actually this area (of the hotel) is much greener and closer to both the restaurant area and the bar area (both just a few mins on the scooter). At the same time the hotel is in a residential area so absolutely quiet and relaxing! Great place to stay.

Everything is different at the moment because of CORONA...
We chose this hotel because it was one of few hotels that had opened the pool area.
We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed it very much.
The spa area was closed but the spa pool was really nice /quiet and relaxing. It was nice to swim outside. It was heated. The spa area lokkede really nice as we walked through it.
The fitness classes were all fully booked - but I was lucky to get a spot from the waiting list. The yoga was good. ( We didn't know we had to book in advance from home which would have given us more options of different fitness classes) next time we will do that.
The gym is really nice.
The garden around the hotel is beautiful.
The breakfast was at the lobby and it tasted really good.
A clean and nice hotel where you can relax and be active. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable.
There are a lot of great restaurants walking distance from the hotel. And the bus is easy to use - bus stop right outside the hotel.
We enjoyed this calm and stress-free hotel... It might be different after corona.
Maybe we'll take the kids next time.
They can play soccer and much more...

The Aspria is a very stylish hotel with a sports club.
There's a gym, outside tennis courts, inside and outside swimming pools and a spa.
The rooms are very clean and gorgeous!
The breakfast is very nice with lots of variety. It's quite pricey though if it's not included in your room price.
It is in a very nice area of Hamburg where you will find lovely restaurants, for example Gusto Vino, Uhlenhorster Weinstube, a sushi place and Literaturhauscafe to name a few. You can either walk along the lake to the city centre (around 40 minutes) or simply take the bus number 6 from the front of the hotel.
I would definitely stay here again!

I booked this hotel for a business trip - somewhere along the line the wrong reservation date was incorrectly entered and I was charged in full by the hotel for a date that even though I was not in the country - I was put through to a very rude woman Katharina [--] when i called ot question it who would not even admit there maybe a problem with their systems and point blank refused to look into it further. I've never been to this hotel and if Katharina is anything to go by I never will.

At first, my impression was rather good, but eventually I started to grow all the more disappointed.
For one, Covid-19 regulations were not met by the hotel which put everyone in danger. I have pictures of over-crowded pools, staff not wearing masks and other things that I have felt compelled to share with the German authorities.
Another negative aspect was the low-quality breakfast which they blamed on the Covid-19 situation. We paid full price for breakfast, yet there was literally nothing to choose from - A couple of dry sandwiches and disgusting waffles that took 20 min for them to serve. A total scam.
But the whole negative experience culminated with their manager who was extremely disrespectful and seemed to be on a real power-trip.
Asking for towels to go to the pool area, I was told (ordered) to get in line (in full swim gear mind you) whilst loads of people had to check in. Yet she just stod there doing nothing, literally just waiting for people to fill out forms.
It takes what, 2 seconds to hand over towels? Nah, impossible for her to do. Naturally, I decided to enter without towels because I didnt want to stand there like an idiot just to go swimming, but was then stopped and very rudely ordered again to get in line. Yes, I was actually prevented to enter the pool area in a hotel I had paid expensive money to stay just so this person could have the pleasure of bossing me around.
She could not take 2 seconds to hand me and my kids towels, but she could take plenty of time to come over to police me and lecture me on their rules. What a complete joke.
Needless to say, I'm never coming back here again. We paid a lot of money to stay here and supported their business during these trying times, yet we get treated like scum. It's mind-boggling to think this person is working in the service sector. Like hiring a butcher to work as a brain surgeon.

I went today and in the reception it was a man very rude. I arrived today at 13 to look the spa and the gym and to decide about to became a member of the club. The man in reception said me to stay and he called a collegue for me. I stayed here one hour and nobody arrived. I asked to the man and he was very very rude and said me to go out. Incredible... The club is very beautiful but the employees very terrible.

This hotel was nice but for me to was too far away from the centre!
The hotel itself is nice and clean. It is also a health club to people outside of the hotel so when your a guest staying there you don't feel like you get enough attention. My check in was messy and it felt like they didn't really care.
The room was clean and overlooked the outside pool on the 2nd floor. There isn't a lot of privacy if you have the curtains open, as everyone from the pool can see it. The room also had two twin beds pushed together (which i hate).
To get to the centre it was a 40 minute walk.
I just prefer to stay much more centre and not at a health club.
The room service is also not fantastic, and i ended up going across the street to get a Chinese takeaway.

I did not actually stay at the hotel but tried to use a gift certificate for spa services from my husband. The services at the spa were fine and the facility is lovely but the customer service was horrible. I won't get into the fact that the restaurant had run out of food at 4pm on a Sunday so we couldn't even grab a bite to eat. In short, they refused to honor my husband's gift to me as he didn't have the correct "gutschein number' just proof of payment and a confirmation email as an actual gutschein was never e-mailed or mailed to him. The front desk was completely unhelpful and offered no solutions even implying we were at fault. CAN NOT RECOMMEND this place - there are far lovelier and nicer establishments in Hamburg to spend your time and money. This is really a local health club for people who live in the area and want a place to play tennis, use the gym or sauna. Out-of-towners or non-Uhlenhorst residents don't waste your time here. I certainly won't be going back or recommending to friends.

If you want to be near the city center and parks, then this is the hotel for you.
The rooms and baths are designed nicely, though the corridor is a bit dark for my taste. They have (free wifi), pool, spa, gym etc. Their rooms are generously spaced with robe, slip ons, full length mirrors and they have usb port near night table. Their beddings are clean and soft. Service is average. The hotel is open to people who have bicycles. Their hotel view is great and it is near Alster Lake where you can jog, do brisk walking or just ride a bike around the lake or city. The neighborhood is also nice, safe, peaceful and quiet. There are good restaurants around which is walking distance. It is a nice place to stay especially if you are a couple. Next time I visit Hamburg City, this will be our place to stay again.

We don't know Hamburg well, and hotel Aspria was a recommendation of friends. We are pleased, great location in an area with lots of bars & restaurants. The hotel itself has a great spa area, gardens, several pools, tennis and a huge fitness facility ( in fact, i think the location is better known as a fitness club than hotel!). The first floor - including breakfast room, espresso bar, large business center and a large outdoor terrase is a very attractive and comfortable place to spend time. The breakfast offering us great, the rooms attractive with great bathrooms, good beds etc. What didn't we like? We arrived early in the morning, and were pleasantly surprised to hear that our allotted room was vacated and they would prioritize the cleaning. We were led to believe we had a short wait - but almost 3 hours later we were still sitting in the lobby, and ignored by the front desk.... if they had told us when we arrived that we had to wait until 2 pm no problem, woukd have dropped our suitcases and done something! The hotel decor is different - and most of it we like - our only other complaint is that the lighting is not good in the rooms and hallways(why paint them dark blue anyway???). We would return.

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay and our facility. In regards to the fact that you were placed on hold for over three hours we are very sorry especially as you were told that the room has already been vacated and was priorities by our Housekeeping Team. This was not our attention and for sure this was a human mistake that our colleagues forgot to get back to you. We have taken your feedback and have highlighted this to our Front Office Staff to be more on top of the wave in regards of to getting back to our waiting guests. Once again we are sorry for any inconvenience caused to you but we hope to see you soon again in our Hotel. Kind regards, Management
