Detailed Reviews
Motel One in Hamburg is simply fantastic! The room was clean and well furnished, I booked the one with the balcony and I enjoyed staying there reading a book enjoying the view and the warm sunshine. The lobby has a large room serving tea, drinks and breakfast... different services at different times. I was able to sit on very comfortable chairs sipping tea in the afternoon and a thirst quenching cocktails after dinner. The breakfast buffet is really very rich with savory and sweet products. The only downside is that there is a bit of a queue during rush hour as there are not enough tables to accommodate all the customers. But I must say that the wait was not long, 5 minutes at most. The staff is extremely professional, well-mannered and always attentive to customer needs. I appreciate it very much.

Staid here for three nights, it is a very nice looking hotel located on a great position close to both city centre and the harbor.
The rooms are not big, but they are modern, clean with some of them having a great view of the canals and the nearby areas.
The service at the hotel was very good to great, the only problem was a bit slowe check in, otherwise it ran like a clock.
Breakfast is solid, with good choice for Germany.
The bar works very late in the evening with a great choice of gin and tonics.
Prices were very reasonable and I would visit again.

We were in town as tourists, so wanted a good location. It didn’t seem to matter what we were doing, the Motel One Fleetinsel wasn’t far from it.
The lounge was useful, as was the speedy wi-fi. With regards to the room, everything felt new, & there wasn’t much I’d change (except maybe the room size, as it was a little too cozy).
The staff were friendly and were able to help us out when we needed it.

Room small but well furnished, smart and comfortable.
Bathroom small (shower, no bath) but really nice (eg marble, underfloor heating, good shower).
Lounge / bar area a really pleasant place to spend time, nicely furnished and not too busy.
Staff friendly, speak enough English to get by.
Food odd: ham-and-cheese toasties are the only thing on the menu. They’re nice ones though. I don’t know what you’d do if you were vegan (they serve nuts I think).
Breakfast decent for the price.
Quiet location near city centre.

Nice decorated rooms but a little space. Very good quality of breakfast and good location. Clean and safe parking space with extra charge. The room price was expensive for this category. In general we were satisfied.

Rooms are tiny and extremely claustrophobic , no daily cleaning room service, and the staff are extremely RUDE, especially restaurant staff. My conference pre-paid for my room and breakfast. The front desk informed me that my breakfast WAS INCLUDED. Yet the kitchen staff yelled at me for helping myself to continental breakfast. I felt like I was booked in a prison. I have never been treated so badly in a hotel before. THE WORST MOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED.

Couldn’t believe that most of the staff were so rude!! Appreciate us English can be over polite but wow. One staff member after we complained was removed by the police as he refused to leave!! One member of staff ( kind woman) behind the counter was lovely. Was advised that I couldn’t buy just a Green T & Coffee in the morning but had to pay €16 each as it was part of the breakfast. No where to sit at night as the bar area was small couldn’t order drinks at the bar had to wait for waiter service which I might add was extremely slow and often got the order wrong!! No Tea or Coffee making facilities in the room just another way to get money as it cost me €32 for 1 x Green T & 1 x Black coffee!! Would I visit or use this chain again NEVER. Which is a shame as the room itself was not bad at all bed was comfy, shower was spot on.
If you’re thinking of using this hotel do your homework!!

We stayed for one Thursday evening and were kindly upgraded upon checking-in after an excellent receptionist took pity on us after a slightly fraught arrival. Our room (on the top - seventh - floor) was still pretty small (despite the upgrade). After dinner at a local restaurant we went back to the hotel for an evening drink - the bar is large, cool and atmospheric (like at many other - though not all - MotelOnes). That said, wasn't impressed that the not-overly-friendly bar lady assumed we were tipping her and pocketed our change. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is in a fantastic location for all the tourist sites. And it's also new and in a very quiet spot, despite its centrality.
