This was maybe the best Scandic hotel which I have stayed. Rooms are big and staff was very nice. The kids play corner in the restaurant was great idea. Breakfast was very good and full of tasty food. The best part was the sauna! It was closes sauna experience what you can get outside of Finland. There is also own sauna just for women.

My stay at Scandic Emporio in Hamburg was perfect. The hotel is the cleanest I have ever seen, and also the safest and the most tranquil ever. You will not find a single dirt trace. The bed is much comfier as my own, room temperature is good, you also have a sofa to chill out. In case you do not want to eat outside you have the restaurant till late evening inside and snacks all the time. Tea and coffee are provided in the room. The position is top. You can reach almost all the most important spots at walking distance. And...you will not ear a single noise from outside as well as from the other guests. This hotel chain is sensational and relatively on a budget.

I stayed only 1 night at the Scandic on business trip in Hamburg. Easy enough to find, took one of the colour changing lifts to a lovely modern room, clean, with a large bathroom, featuring a powerful shower.
Downstairs is a nice restaurant and bar (where you can eat too). A good selection of draught beers.
The hotel is within easy walking distance of the centre, and the hotel has their own bicycles too.

This was my forat travel after 03.03.2020. Visited Hamburg with my family and dog. Arrived late night at 00:45 in Hamburg. Check in was informed that we will arrive late. So helpful. A luggage carrier on 4 wheels was ready waiting to get all stuff transferred from car to room. Beds are of utmost quality - which i knew from before. Both children and my wife mentioned the wonderful night rest due to excellent beds. And believe me, we are spoiled. (-: Breakfast was organized as pre ordered prepare plate delivered to breakfast table. Wide space, safe feeling distances and staff working with masks. 👍 Thanks for the extra efforts. We felt really welcome and excellently taken care of. Looking forward to next stay at Scandic Emporio Hamburg

This is a beautiful property with nice rooms. The superior rooms have a high ceiling and the outside wall is of glass. Even bathrooms give an impression being larger and fancier than the standard Scandic bathrooms. The only minus is that there are only two sockets for plugging one's gear.
This time I was given room 1633 which is at the level of huge Scandic neon lights on the outside wall. Pigeons kept knocking on the window early in the morning which made it impossible to sleep. Perhaps one should install "pigeon nails" on these neon lights.
This property could be easily more than four stared if the service were better. Check-in is slow with toing and froing. In the morning there are not enough of capacity for check out without a long wait. The receptionist did not offer to reserve a breakfast slot, and the breakfast coordinator just said in the German style: not my mistake. Not wanting to go to the room with a tray, it took her 10 minutes to come and propose that I could have my breakfast at the bar. BF per se was very nice.
The minibar included in the price contained an open wine bottle.
I feel this all is sad with a view to the enormously beautiful property. I will give this hotel one more try and then look for something else.

Excellent hotel! We stayed in a suite with access to the living room in the 8th floor and enjoyed the breakfast there in a quiet atmosphere. The hotel is modern and the room had a good view. The location is in a nice area in walking distance to many shops and restaurants.

Scandic is a new chain tried out in 2020 for us. Positively impressed with great rooms, good Covid-19 handling and an adequate useful location for walks through the city of hamburg. Spacy rooms, great bathroom, the upgrade to a superior level to hold a family of 3 was good. Suits well as business as family hotel. We had breakfast included, price value is good, less then other major international chains ... one drawback though ... the fried eggs were cold when held ready under the heating lamp.

During a 2-night stay my room underwent no cleaning and neither toilet paper or coffee were checked or towels changed. As reason for this the fear of guests due to the Covid Pandemic was stated. In no other hotel I had an experience like this. I had the impression that the pandemic is used as a reason for cost optimizing.

The hotel is located conveniently just next to a metro station, although the station doesn't have an elevator on the exit closest to the hotel. The town hall and main shopping streets are just a short walk away and the famous "Planten and Blomen" park is also very close. The immediate surroundings of the hotel are quiet with few restaurants or shops.
The rooms were clean and breakfast was nice with plenty of options (healthy ones as well). We visited the hotel on Easter and there was some special treats for children during that time.
Our only complaints were about service. We had made a reservation on a family room with a nice city view, but as we arrived we were told that there are no more family rooms left but they would accommodate us on two normal rooms that were connected to each other. Sure, our new combo was bigger than the family room would had been, but the view from the room was very dull. I found it a bit odd that there were double bookings for rooms...
Also, I find it highly irritating that a group of two adults and two children doesn't get room cleaning for a stay of several days without asking it. Especially as trash bins are so small. I knew that this is the new line in all Scandic hotels (they say it's for environment but of course everybody knows it's about money...) so I asked for cleaning for the whole duration of our stay already on the evening of our arrival. However, our room wasn't cleaned next day even though we had asked for it. I complained about this and for the rest of our stay they cleaned it ok (with cleaning I mean emptying trash bins, changing towels and such).

With the nearest U-bahn station about 3 minutes' walk, the location really is ideal; everywhere we wanted to go was accessible (the group transport ticket for just 14.10 Euro is a great deal). Both the water and central area near the Rathaus are within easy walking distance (under 20 minutes). We opted for a Superior Plus room, which gave access to the "Living Room," a dedicated space for breakfast and light bites - as well as drinks, both beer and non-alcoholic - throughout the day. Vegetarians definitely have options. Our room on the 7th floor was incredibly quiet and of a quite comfortable size for 4 nights. For travelers caring about sustainability, the hotel has made many thoughtful decisions.
