Dear AnjaP909, Thank you very much for your wonderful feedback, which we certainly love to read and share with our amazing team. Since we put a lot of heart and love into our product, your words are very motivating for us. Our breakfast is indeed a gem, and we source our products from local partners, primarily in organic quality. Marcus, our owner, has been importing Beaumont Wines for over 20 years. We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed them. We very much look forward to welcoming you again when your travels bring you to Hamburg. Rest assured, our wine fridge will be well stocked :) Greetings from St. Pauli and the entire Hotel St. Annen Team

Located in a quiet street with the distinct neighborhood feel of St Pauli, this hotel is run and staffed by attentive people who make you feel welcome. Our room overlooked a lovely garden, had comfortable beds, and the breakfast served was delicious and well-presented. Staying four nights we got a good deal, which was excellent value for money. We also appreciated the possibility of parking our car in the garage. Overall, this is a professionally run hotel with a much more welcoming and personal approach than the big chains in the same price range. Its location worked well for us who enjoy exploring all parts of a city on foot, but there are plenty of public transportation options as well. We would definitely stay again.

We came to Hamburg for the first time in December, for 3 nights, and the St Annen was a great place to stay, at a great price. Everything was perfect, from the wonderful staff, to the comfortable, modern room, to the lovely breakfasts. And for a small hotel to have a proper 24-hour reception is a real boon for late arrivals.
It's located on a quiet street in a fairly bohemian area, but don't let that put you off. It's only about 5 minutes walk to the St Pauli U-bahn, which gets you into the city centre quickly, or you could even walk into the centre in about 20 minutes.
All in all, thoroughly recommended!

We have yet to experience the service we received at the Hotel St. Annen. The staff member, Sarah, greeted us not only with a big smile but also with great information. She quickly found us a reservation at a great Indian restaurant and made a note to have coffee ready for me at 5:30am even though breakfast does not start until 7am. They provided umbrellas (and Lucia even got some from storage when they ran out), which helped on the rainy evening. Wonderful breakfast, outstanding service, and conveniently located within a 20-minute walk to the Fischmarkt and Harbor. The toilet and shower also are separate, which is lovely for two guests, especially as both have sinks. We highly recommend this quaint hotel for your stay in Hamburg.

Dear “Kathryn Pollak“, Thank you so much for your outstanding review you posted on Tripadvisor. The entire team, especially Sarah and Lucija, were thrilled to read your very kind words! Service definitely comes first at our small Hotel St. Annen, it is so much fun to provide insider tips and be of assistance when it comes to bookings of restaurants or theaters. Flexibility is hugely important and all staff members are keen to help wherever possible. The high quality of our breakfast products are again another major part of our general standards. Many products are individually made from our team, such as smoothies, marmalade, pancakes and all egg dishes (omelet, scrambled eggs, etc.) Thank you so much for your recommendation. It would be lovely to have you stay with us again. Until then – all the best! Kind regards from Hamburg Marcus van Riesen Director, Hotel St. Annen

We stayed for 2 nights so we could see Noah Kahan at the Stadtpark.
The hotel is in a quiet location on the edge of a residential area and it was an easy walk to the waterfront and other parts of the city. It’s also a short walk to a couple of S-Bahn stations.
All the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The breakfast is very good. The cabin room was small but ideal for us and looked out over the front of the hotel. It was very quiet at night.
Booking direct with the hotel meant that we were treated to a couple of glasses of wine.

Absolutely loved the St Annen. The hotel is tucked away on a quiet street in St Pauli - close enough to the Reeperbahn and the city centre for accessible fun, but without any noise or mess. We had a very warm welcome, and the room was spotless, air conditioned and very comfortable. Breakfast has to be booked for a preferred time, but is simple, tasty and with lovely service. Would definitely stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 6-night stay at Hotel St. Annen and are already planning our next stay there. Our double room was clean, well-appointed, and comfortable. (We wished we could have taken the pillows and bedding home with us.) The room overlooked a courtyard and we could open the windows and hear birdsong. The water temperature and pressure in the shower were good, and the shampoo, soap, and lotion were of nice quality. We did not try the TV, but the WiFi worked well. We looked forward to breakfast each morning: high quality coffee/tea, fresh juices and smoothies, assorted croissants and rolls, tasty eggs made to order, German sliced meats and cheeses, overnight oats, fruit, and a variety of sweet and savory spreads. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We are from the US and were glad to be able to converse in English with them, but I also want to remark on their patience with my broken German. The location was great for us. Hamburg is a beautiful city with much to explore, and we were able to walk / take public transportation everywhere we wanted to go. We highly recommend Hotel St. Annen.

Stayed here for two nights in July 2022. Property is located on a quiet side street in the St Pauli district--close and convenient to both bus and subway lines.
Rooms are spotless and spacious by European standards. Breakfast buffet is varied and healthy, with made to order eggs, etc.
The true standout of the St Annen is the exceptional staff. From the general manager to the front desk staff to the support staff, everyone is friendly and accommodating. Knowledgeable about their city and very eager to share advice on things to see and do. We would highly recommend this hotel.

The room felt more like a motel room, quite basic, rather than the top rated hotel we were expecting. In exchange for a drink you could forgo a daily clean. You needed to hand your key in every time you left the hotel which we found odd.
A specific time for breakfast must be booked the day prior which is slightly annoying when on holiday. On day one we were given no explanation of breakfast options, the maître d’ just asked did we want eggs and bacon. I asked for toast but was told they didn’t have any. The selection on the buffet was not extensive.
The next day we got a much nicer welcome from a lovely girl who gave us the missing explanation - breakfast is “small but mighty” - she also arranged to toast some bread for us.
They had a lovely courtyard where you could sit and have a quiet drink. The wine was especially good. The bar was a nice spot to have a drink before bed though drinks are pricey.
The location is good, a relatively easy walking distance to places of interest. It’s very close to the Reeperbahn, the famous red light district.

We enjoyed a fantastic family mini break at Hotel St.Annen. It’s location is perfect for walking around sightseeing and is close to very good train links. The staff on reception were friendly and very helpful, recommending restaurants and places to visit. We were impressed with the good selection and healthy choices offered at breakfast. The hotel and our bedrooms were spotlessly clean. After long, busy days out we sat in the bar in the evenings which was quiet and perfect for chatting about our day. We would happily stay there again.
