The reception was friendly and our room (comfort double) was modern and fully equipped. Everything was clean, only the smell (cleaning products or similar?) was a little unpleasant. The bathroom is very small but just about OK.
There is an underground car park for €19/night, which we recommend as the parking situation on the street is tight.
The breakfast may seem expensive at first glance at €22 but it is really exceptionally varied and of the highest quality. There is definitely nothing left to be desired here, which absolutely justifies the price.
The rooms facing the street are quiet with the windows closed.
It was a very good choice for our short stay of two nights and we recommend this hotel with a clear conscience.
It was a good surprise to see that an old building (supposedly from the 70-80s) was renovated in a way which created an artificial but pleasant feeling of being in a typical Japanese house. For this the management deserves nice words. Rooms were properly prepared, cleaned and there was no reason to complain. Bathroom was clean and neat. Actually within the budget segment, this hotel scores pretty well.
On the negative side, there is no big choice of facilities and the hotel asked 15 euro per person for breakfast in a "restaurant" that did not really impress. That is why we went to the city center where we had much better brunching options for the same amount than what the hotel offered.
In conclusion, I would recommend this hotel if you need to stay somewhere in Hamburg for a night and if you have just to leave on the next day. In case that you would like to have a better city-trip experience, this is not the right place.
Rooms are nicely designed (only deduction is that the bathrooms are quite smal, so better spare the waffles). Pets are welcome. My dog got his own bed and some treats.
The lobby looks like any other low budget hotel save for the japanesque decorations. The rooms are smallish and very sparsely decorated and equipped. The theme serves as a handy excuse to give an "uncluttered" view. My main gripe is with the beds which are so hard, you might as well sleep on the floor.
The room had a strange odour and not as clean as it could be. Examples of this are the side and bottom of the toilet which was filthy with brown streaks running down the sides and black mouldy grout in the shower.
At EUR 120 its cheap but given I was shattered the next day through lack of sleep it was definitely not worth it.
The Hotel is clean, rooms are renovated and enjoyable 'different' - Japanese style with bast mats (kind of no 'shoes allowed' in the room) and Shōji (fake translucient paper room dividers in front of the windows).
No wellness/sports/recreation facilities, lots of extra services for horrendous prices, no free parking and horrible parking situation in the area, breakfast unreasonable 15 € per person.
Internet is terrible, If you are here for work, no way! At the Same price you can find something nicer! I was asking help for internet, The poor receptionist didn't know how to help me and The owner passed by, with a terrible attitude and she didn't even asked what was The problem. She really don't care about her clients! I come often in Hamburg but unfortunately My favorite hotels were overbooked for a festival... Tomorrow I will find something else!
Staff: very friendly

Extremely comfortable bed
Room: clean, flat screen TV, Minibar
Bathroom: en suite bathroom, clean, hair dryer
Dining room: well kept, clean

Only one thing I would have liked are more screens to cover the windows, but this is minor as overall, the hotel is very well kept and serene hotel.
The aesthetic can easily be appreciated as the basics a comfortably covered. I would most certainly return to the hotel!
