Reichshof Hamburg combines an ideal location and a charming, historic building for an exciting guest experience. The hotel, which has been completely renovated, was built in 1910, and features an Art Deco design highlighting the style of the 'golden twenties.' Combined with that are modern design elements and technology. Located in the heart of Hamburg, Germany, the hotel is near the main train station and many attractions. Within walking distance are Alster Lake, the Rathaus (city hall), shops, restaurants, museums, and galleries. Each guest room and suite offers a unique layout and features. The Art Deco style gives charm to rooms with complimentary WiFi, air conditioning, safes, coffeemakers and flat-screen HDTVs. You'll find an illuminated vanity mirror and rain shower in the bathroom. Some suites have views of Hamburg. Local gastronomy within antique ambiance - ,,Stadt Restaurant" at Reichshof Hamburg. Since January 2017 the hotel's centerpiece, Stadt Restaurant, returned to bearing its original name, given with the opening of the hotel in 1910. Head Chef Mario Regensburg and team, besides offering typical German dishes, extend an international culinary selection to suit the most delicate of pallets. Cooking in the rhythm of nature and focusing on organic and regional ingredients is at the core of this gem restaurant. The new and versatile gastronomy concept ,,EMIL's" Bistro, Café and Bar, named after the Reichshof Hamburg founder Anton Emil Langer, offers a vibrant selection, corresponding to the lively centre of the hotel. The combination of a café and a bistro, promises an energy boosting breakfast to kick-start the morning, a delicious afternoon tea after a shopping trip as well as snacks and aperitifs right before your theatre visit. According to the "Stadt Restaurant" philosophy all dishes are to order and made with love. Homemade cakes, chocolates and sweet delights are also available on the selected menu of "EMIL's".Host a business or social event in flexible function space that offers complimentary WiFi, modern conference technology and in-house catering consisting of fresh, seasonal dishes. A total of 250 sq. m in the Reichshof Hamburg is dedicated to relaxation and fitness. Hotel guests can enjoy a modern fitness room for a power, cardio or aerobic workout free of charge as well as two saunas with an exclusive quiet zone for an extra fee. The spa also offers high-quality beauty treatments and feel-good massages.

The Reichshof Hamburg garners praise for its cleanliness, with visitors impressed by the meticulous condition of the rooms and public spaces. Guests appreciate the spacious and comfortable accommodations, although there are occasional mentions of dated decor. The hotel's prime location near the central station is a highlight, as well as the charming and regal atmosphere it maintains, complete with art deco elements.
While the staff generally receive accolades for their professionalism and friendliness, some guests have noted service lapses, particularly at the bar and reception. Opinions on value are split, with some travelers finding the prices steep despite the hotel's merits.

I visited the hotel in July 2023 for five nights in July 2023 with two children. It is a great hotel with very friendly staff, large rooms and very comfortable beds (even the fold-out couch was comfortable). Despite the central location, the room was quiet and dark in the morning thanks to the black-out curtains, so we could all sleep in. A coffee machine with capsules and various tea bags, as well as four bottles of Viva con Agua, were provided free of charge with each room cleaning. You could choose not to have your room cleaned on two days and plant a tree instead; the children loved it too. The room had everything you needed, including an ironing board with iron, bathrobes, an umbrella for the Hamburg weather and enough power sockets. The breakfast buffet had a large selection, especially Hamburg / North German specialties (such as various fish salads), but also milk substitutes for vegans. Unfortunately, it is quite expensive at €25 (if you book in advance) or €28 per person (children are free). We were treated very courteously at reception. The location is ideal, you are right next to the main train station, but also quickly reach Mönckebergstrasse, the Kunsthalle or the Museum of Arts and Crafts. There is also a city bike station right outside the door. Next door is the Dim Sum House (a delicious Chinese restaurant) and the Deutsches SchauSpielHaus Hamburg. The hotel is highly recommended, we will definitely come back.

We chose the Hotel Reichshof because we found the media presentation interesting and we liked the location (short walk to the Kunsthalle and Museum of Art and Crafts, the Deutsches Schauspielhaus right next door and the Ohnsorg Theater opposite). The room on the 5th floor at the back of the hotel was very good, beds were good, light sources were great so we could read well in bed and the lighting in the bathroom made it easier to put on makeup. 2 bottles of mineral water every day for free. Breakfast was simply fantastic - quality and the selection of the buffet - the service was very friendly, everything was just great - aromatic coffee from the machine - a coffee in different variations that tasted good! The egg dishes - freshly prepared at the frying station. Everything was right and, above all, tasty! We will come back - we liked it so much!

Had a great stay at the hotel and would recommend to others!
Our positives...
The hotel is very luxurious in style and spotlessly clean. Everywhere was clean.
The bar service was very prompt from order to drink delivery and I don’t think was too badly priced.
Such a good atmosphere and buzz around the place. We loved to sit and watch the world go by in the lobby/bar area. Nice seating area outside too if it's a nice day. Bikes for hire as well.
Breakfast was in the restaurant and was good with a big selection of good quality food and drink.
We booked the king large room which was massive and really nicely decorated. The bed was so comfortable as were the pillows. Tea and coffee was available too. Decent space for hanging clothes and storing a suitcase.
The location is brilliant for getting round the city close to bars, restaurants and the touristy stuff.
The reception staff were helpful in helping us find a nice room.
Some room for improvement...
A better mirror for doing make up would be great. The bathroom mirror steamed up if someone had had a shower and the other mirror in the room wasn’t suitable.
We could hear construction work nearby so be mindful when booking. A drill woke us a couple of times but thankfully stopped after a short while. The walls are also quite thin so you can hear people walking past your room. The shower guard needs to be improved as water went all over the floor during a shower.
The check in could have been more helpful in explaining things about the hotel. For example - The plant a tree scheme. We didn’t get our hotel room cleaned the 4 nights we were there as we assumed the tree would be planted at the end of our stay but it turns out that was a complete waste of time and the guy at reception said that this wouldn’t be done now because we hadn’t hung it on our door specifically. I am still unsure why they refused to plant a tree regardless as there must be records to say that we had not had our room cleaned for our full stay? It’s a great policy but maybe explain it to people and you’ll be able to plant more trees!
The sauna and steam room is chargeable which I think is a bit rubbish when you’ve paid a decent amount per night to stay there anyway.
We would've eaten at the hotel but we felt the menu was quite restrictive in choice.
We were in Hamburg celebrating our anniversary and had told the hotel (they ask people to tell them if they are celebrating a special occasion) but nothing was mentioned about it.

Excellent location and comfort. To highlight the cleanliness of the room and comfort of the bed, I stayed 3 nights and felt like I was home, very friendly staff, details like complimentary water bottles that were renewed daily as well as coffee capsules are appreciated. I would stay at this hotel without thinking.

We stayed at the Reichshof for two days. We liked the relatively recently renovated room on the 6th floor. But that was it. Queuing in front of the breakfast room and then at the buffet. The unfortunate placement of the egg dish station and the queue in front of it meant that access to large areas of the buffet was blocked. The appointments we had planned could not be kept due to the delays. But maybe we are too demanding, because breakfast only costs €28 per person.
The bar staff in the entrance area were either non-existent or quite unfriendly. We wanted to order a tea and an espresso at 11:05 p.m., but were then told that no hot drinks would be served after 11:00 p.m.
When we left, we discovered that our room cards no longer worked at 11:40 a.m., even though the room was booked until 12:00 p.m. The staff were then unable to reprogram the cards, so room service had to unlock the door for us. Of course, there was no apology for this. Nobody was interested in whether we liked the Reichshof or not. You just have to realize that there are better hotels in Hamburg in this price range. You won't see us here again.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Reichshof Hamburg recently and was completely delighted. From the very beginning, the service was exceptional: the staff was friendly, courteous and always ready to help. The rooms were spacious, elegantly furnished and spotlessly clean. I was particularly impressed by the hotel's historic atmosphere combined with modern amenities.
The breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired, with a wide selection of delicious food and drinks. The hotel's central location allowed me to easily explore the city's attractions on foot. In addition, the Reichshof Hamburg also offered a variety of amenities such as a gym and a wellness area.
All in all, my stay at the Reichshof Hamburg was truly first class. I can fully recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again on my next visit to Hamburg.

We stayed for one night at this hotel on our return from Denmark to break up the journey. I booked a suite for my family at the hotel because my adult son is autistic and we have a therapy dog. As he is very anxious, we required a room with a sofa bed. On check in I was asked if it was OK if the receptionist, who was friendly, if she authorised 50 Euros on my account. She explained that it's just an authorisation, it wouldn't be taken from our account, and as soon as we checked out and paid the bill, it would be immediately removed. Of course, I said that's no problem. We had breakfast elsewhere as the hotel breakfast is pretty expensive. And then I went to check out. The man on reception informed me that I couldn't take advantage of the car parking reduction as the receptionist the day before should have dealt with that and now it was too late. I asked, but apparently nothing could be done to change it. That was pretty annoying, after all, as a guest I had done nothing wrong and yet I now had to pay more than 30 Euros extra for parking. Once at home, we checked our bank account. The hotel had booked the bill off correctly but they had additionally 'authorised' a further 325 Euros from our account. That was made up of the 50 Euro authorisation the receptionist had mentioned and a further 275 Euros room charge. The authorisation just said 'pending' on our online banking account. But that meant that we had the money in our account, but it was frozen - we couldn't access it, it was just waiting to be potentially taken by the hotel. We were a bit irritated, but we assumed it would just disappear in a day or two. But it didn't. We called the hotel and were informed that this authorisation is normal and takes about a week to go away. A week came and went. Then two. We contacted the hotel and they told us it's not their fault, it's our bank's. So we contacted our bank. Our bank took the time to look into it all for us and said that it is definitely the fault of the hotel. And that they are powerless to do anything. To the room itself: the suite was really large, the decor felt a little dated in style, my mattress and the sofa bed mattress were uncomfortable, but my husband said his was OK. We paid for the dog package, which was supposed to include a dog blanket, food and a bowl. However, there was no dog blanket. Our booking stated (in writing) that our room was ours until 12 noon, however a woman was knocking our door at 11 am to prepare it for the next guest. Almost a month later, we're still no further forward. I can't decide whether the hotel is just hugely incompetent or whether there is something more sinister going on. For us the whole thing has been a real headache and we have been juggling money around to make sure we're not overdrawn. Because the bank says, even though the money is technically in our account, it isn't. We can't use it and if we 'overdraw it', we will have to pay charges. So my recommendation to you is to avoid this hotel. Don't wave a bank card in their direction. They can't be trusted.

We were in Hamburg over the weekend. The hotel was right in the city and because of its location near the train station we were able to get to the concert in the evening and back again without any problems. Pauli, Landungsbrücken and co were quickly accessible thanks to the direct location.

Very good city hotel with flair, directly opposite the main train station. We were greeted by a very friendly professional employee, had a room on the 5th floor that was very clean and quiet, very good beds, large shower, free mineral water and a coffee machine. Very good breakfast, everything is there and the egg dishes are freshly prepared in front of the guest, so there is nothing to complain about. We also went to the 1910 bar in the lobby, polite, professional, that certain something, that's how a bar should be and the beef tartar is just awesome!! As for the location, it's a 15-minute walk to the Radhaus and public transport is directly opposite. Since we come from the catering industry ourselves, we are naturally much more critical and we felt very comfortable, if we were in Hamburg we would happily stay at the Reichshof again.

Although this hotel is more at a higher price range, the prices are still reasonable especially considering the value it offers. The rooms are large, clean, air-conditioned, in excellent condition, and offer everything you need. The staff was friendly and helpful. In the entrance lobby, there is a large bar area where it is pleasant to hang around. Breakfast is served until 11am (12am on weekends) and offers a large choice.

Hi, I would say the area is fine. It is like any major train station and yes you will see homeless people and people drinking but it does not feel unsafe at all. the hotel is great - although with 8 and 10 year olds I remember mine would have wanted a hotel pool to play in, which this does not have.
It depends- studies or smaller rooms have the basics ( handsoaps/shampoo in some big dispensers attached to walls) others have high quality soaps, shampoos etc.
There are Hilton Hotels that charge a mandatory resort fee, but the Reichshof Hamburg Curio Collection is not one of them and does not charge any type of resort fee. The Hilton app shows that the breakfast package costs an extra €30 per night, but not per person. The extra fee is likely some type of package being offered by the travel website. Check with them and see what it includes. In my experience, Hilton (and most other hotels) would prefer that you book with them directly instead of using a travel website. I would recommend that you call the hotel or the Hilton reservations phone number and they may match the deal that the travel website is offering and can tell you exactly what you will be getting. Finally, our family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers stayed in one extra large king room and it was a good size room for 4 people.
There are more places to choose from in the Hamburg area.
