Very friendly and helpful staff. Menu was great for all with plenty of quality to choose from. Staff recommendations very helpful. Being an IHG member really helped with the late checkout being available. We stayed as are employees from the UK and are very pleased with the service and products provided.

This is a brand new HI, located 150m from the famous and beautiful Hambourg Speicher Stadt (UNESCO Heritage site).
This hotel is a real 4*, totally different from the older Holiday Inn standards (they were more kind of business hotels). The staff is very friendly and will help to solve amy queries on the spot.
We were set in a room on the 6th floor, their executive or club floor, albeit the room size was similar to the others (abt 18sqm) it had an in room espresso machine and some quality amenities in the bathroom.
There is a gym on the 6th floor, well equipped.
The hotel is easily reachable by car or metro with a stop just 500m away and a nice walk along the canals of the old dock town.
This neighbourhood has a modern and historical vibe, surrounded by canals and history, along the former inner city docks (Haffenstadt) you can find some cafe hosted in new or historical buildings and few but excellent restaurants too.
We had no trouble parking on the street but the hotel has an underground parking too.
We stayed 2 days and paid 100 euro per night, which was a good price considering the prime location in Haffencity and the venue qualities.
Excellent hotel, albeit not in the Altstadt, it is merely a 20mns walk away thru the most beautiful part of the town that survived the war.
Staff and venue itself are worth staying here whether you are coming for tourism or eventually business

We had a really nice stay here and I would recommend it as a good place to explore the lovely city of Hamburg. Our room was clean, good size and homely. The hotel has good transport connections to the centre and we never had a problem with easy access to the city. The hotel is also in an interesting area which is worth exploring. Overall a really nice relaxing stay and a fantastic hotel.

Still not a bad hotel and the COVID measures aren't easy for everyone but:
it still does mean you can excange towels and clean rooms everyday (not having to ask for it, towel on the floor=renewal)
I have to say that the breakfast crew of this hotel is the greatest I have seen in a long time. The afternoon and dinner crew are okayish (nothing more than that). But how the breakfast crew handles everything with their COVID challenge (serve the guests on the buffet, keep smiling and remember the guest's preferences) is just great, really is.
I ate twice in the restaurant in the evening and the food is expensive and although the products are good (quality-wise) it is just not prepared so well. I had a 30 euro steak (each side is 3-4 euros extra) and it was COLD inside. The second one that came was still not 'hot' but I did not want to complain anymore and eat the steak. The steak itself was really better than average, but it was not prepared correctly. Same for the soup and other dishes I ate (the chicken was so long-cooked it chewed like cardboard and was very salty). Sorry to say. However with a little bit of effort in preparing the food a little better, they can improve this.
Despite this all the breakfasts crew makes it good for me and I still return on a (bi)weekly bases to this hotel. And I will keep doing so in the future!

The first room I was given was on the first floor over a main road by some traffic lights, so too noisy for me. I immediately requested a quieter room (as did 2 of my colleagues), and we were given rooms on the 5th floor - mine right next to the lift (545)! The lady on the front desk had already been reluctant to make the change so I stuck with the room I'd been given. Needless to say I was woken in the middle of the night when someone used the lift, then again at 6am after which the lift was in constant use. I spent the next morning waiting to move room again. As I was working all that day and evening, I had limited time to move and so took the next room on trust (309), only to find that I was listening to freight trains rolling by all night long. May I suggest that the staff at Holiday Inn research which rooms are actually quiet at night. It's as though they don't really know their own hotel. The rooms are comfortable and well-furnished but incredibly dark, with no means of lighting them during the day. Breakfast is very good, and we had very good (and reasonably priced) meals in the hotel restaurant. Because of the noise and the dark rooms, however, I'm afraid I wouldn't choose to stay here again.

Very clean, there was no dust when I wiped, but rooms have a dark carpet and we always use slippers, so can't see if the floor is clean. The only thing lacking was a fridge and safe. The room has big mirrors, some art. We had end of corridor rooms, so very quiet. The room had lots of surfaces to put stuff, even in the bathroom and at entrance for your keys, there are knobs on the wall for your bags/coats. There was a mini waterboiler, cups and teabags. There was a bottle of complimentary water with glasses. The window can open, the curtains are dark (the sides are even taped to the wall to let minimum light in in the mornings, really appreciate that), but some light from the sun (east facing rooms) came through some cracks above the curtains. The aircon worked well. We had twin beds with soft mattrasses. Pillows were too soft for me, but they have other options if you ask reception. Bathroom is basic, but good and clean. There is a small wardrobe space incl. ironing board. Enough power outlets. U-bahn is right outside. The lobby is big and spacious, with enough seating, nice fresh colors, iced water available for guests. Frontdesk staff was curt, unfortunately no parking space available when we arrived, had to park in a public place nearby. Breakfast was included for us, it was really good, with lots of choices, even lactose free. We would definitely return and recommend this hotel to others.

The gut reviews of this hotel don't lie. It is nice, offers modern rooms in good price, stuff is polite and the location is very good. They have an underground parking lot, during the Corona phase you can order something from outside or have some beverages at the reception (well thought).
I will probably visit again.

This was my firth experience in a Holiday Inn and it was quite good.
It was a very good hotel for a short stay. We stayed for one night to enjoy the city. The room was comfortable and the staff was nice.
The only thing that was bad was breakfast, wish was a little unorganized, but we felt safe and the food was really good.
The hotel is not very close to the center, and does not have any transports nearby, but if you like to walk you can be in the center in 20 minutes or so...
If you come by car be careful because the hotel does not have a park for your car and parking in the street is paid during the week.
If I ever go back to Hamburg I will sure consider repeat this place!

I stayed here for 3 nights, arriving early on a weekday after a very early flight. The hotel is in a fairly soulless but safe new docklands / waterfront area of Hamburg with an underground station adjacent. There’s a few restaurants and shops about 5 minutes’ walk away, and the fairly level walk to the city centre takes about 20 minutes or so.
As a Diamond Elite member with IHG, I had pre advised my request for a quiet, end of corridor room but I was told this could not be accommodated when I arrived as the hotel was very busy. I was initially assigned to a mid corridor room on the 5th Floor. The room was spotlessly clean, smart and stylish and created a very favourable first impression.
When I returned to the hotel after my first day in Hamburg, I was exceptionally tired and ready for an early night. I was horrified however to enter the building to find a party happening in the lobby with music so loud that it set off a decibel warning on my smart watch. As I reached my room I could feel the floors and walls literally shaking as a result of this din five floors below me.
I returned to reception to explain that I had hoped to be sleeping in a hotel rather than in a night club and, to my amazement, I was told that the event was a staff party to celebrate the hotel’s 5th birthday! It seemed odd to me that a hotel’s management team would want to risk annoying or inconveniencing paying guests with loud music to celebrate a property’s birthday, but maybe I’m just a bit old fashioned when it comes to customer service and prioritising guest needs! To the credit of the receptionist I spoke with, he worked hard to relocate me to the quiet, end of corridor room at the rear of the hotel that I had first requested, and I was also very appreciative of the adjustment the hotel made to my account to reflect my inconvenience on my first evening.
After what was literally a shaky start, I enjoyed a very restful night’s sleep in a room which was quiet, comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast buffet at the hotel was exceptional each day, and one of the best I have enjoyed with this brand in Europe.
Overall, I’d recommend this property… but you might want to check that they are not planning another staff party in the lobby when you intend to stay here!

Convenient location with walking distance to the Elbphilharmonie, Speicherstadt, some museums. Short walk to underground station.
Modern style rooms , fitness center, good breakfast buffet, bar and restaurant. Some bikes available. Attentive service, It was raining cats and dogs during our stay and they never ran out of hotel umbrellas.
We had booked a suite, which has a large living room and more windows for rather small extra money. Espresso coffee maker in the room, very comfy large bed, etc. No frills such as bathrobes, slippers though.
Good value.
