The Prizeotel is located near Reeperbahn, Hamburg's famous red-light district.
People who love psychedelic colors and designs will love it here. Fans of simplistic, minimalistic designs will hate it. If you look for a hotel in St. Pauli for a short stay, this is an option to consider. However, you have to know that the hotel is not very supportive of human interactions as every personal contact is reduced to a minimum - from check-in to check-out. When interactions take place, these are complicated by staff that does has issues communicating in German or English as they are not locals. Staff also lacks training in Customer Service. The rooms are small but clean and seem to have been renovated recently. Beds are comfortable. Double rooms have one chair only, almost no space to hang clothes and are being cleaned every three days only (but you may ask for more frequent cleaning). If towels need to be changed or you want a toothbrush glass, you will need to contact the reception.

The best was the hotel's Breakfast buffet.

The nice thing about the Prizeotel Hamburg St. Pauli is that you are right in the middle of the action where the action takes place – nevertheless the location of the hotel is quiet, clean and safe!

The hotel is no more than a 2-minute walk from Reeperbahn S-Bahn station – a perfect connection to the rest of the city. In the vicinity of the hotel there are numerous bars, restaurants, clubs, shops, etc. It is definitely advisable to check in advance what the district has to offer or what the Reeperbahn is. A nightlife district with a legendary reputation.

If you stay in this hotel, you can reach all Unpacked on foot in a few minutes.

We stayed at the hotel for 1 night and were very pleased with our choice.

The check-in went smoothly and very friendly in the 1. Floor. Although there is a desk on the ground floor, this remained unoccupied throughout our stay. If the door is closed, the bell is next to the door. The building is also only accessible by key card – you definitely feel safe in the hotel.

There is an option to make an online check-in – however, we have decided to check-in at the reception. At check-in the room is paid directly. Our wishes were noted and fulfilled accordingly.

The standard room has a good size, is clean and very simple but practical. The design may not suit all tastes (predominantly white), but scores with soundproofing and cleanliness. We stayed at the hotel on a Saturday night and didn't hear anything about what was happening outside. However, our room was facing the courtyard (possibly a good tip). The bathroom was a normal size and equipped with a soap dispenser. Shampoo, conditioner and lotion are not provided.

Housekeeping is only available every 3 days. Towels can be requested directly at the reception.

Breakfast was a bit too expensive for a budget hotel for 18 EUR, so we decided against it.

The bed we felt was too soft. For people who need a harder mattress, this could be a problem. However, as we were only there for 1 night, it was fine. This is a point to consider for longer stays.

Conclusion: Great hotel for a city trip in Hamburg with a visit to the neighbourhood, the landing bridges and the tourist Unpacked. The connection to public transport is unbeatable.

A disadvantage: The hotel cannot be reached by telephone, either from outside or from the room.

Modern hotel, in a great location!

We had a twin room, but disappointed to see it was a double bed with 2 sets of covers, and we are 2 male friends in our 50’s, so had to book a second room, with an on the day rate, which was over double of what the price was of the original room!
The rooms do not have safes, so had to carry all my money with me around the Reeperbahn!
We was told room service was not a thing, but if we needed fresh towels etc, to go to reception, and after a heavy night and got in at 4am I was woken by the room service people knocking and entering my room at 9am,
The hotel was modern, and clean, but obviously with the issues above, I would think two about booking again!

We have read so much on thir breakfast being good, but it wasn't anything special. Just cold bar. The only warm food was pancake, which took forever by the pancake maker machine! Even their toaster took around 5 minutes to give you a toast! Didn't worth the cost!
Even though we hanged the sign before leaving the room in the morning, and although cleaning cart was just outside our room, we came back to a not cleaned suit in the evening!
Staff wasn't that nice, except for the guy welcoming us to the breakfast lounge. The reception didn't smile at us even once.

Young style, new Hotel New Design no great experience but not cheap either.
Checkin cool and easy. Room small but very effective designed quiet acceptable.
After night one we expected the room made but appearantly no personnel to do it.
We got two coffes and a promise that next Day it will be done.
Well it wasn’t. Communication rather difficult, no phone to call reception so we walk down. No contact even in the app no way to get in touch.
Bathroom itself well designed and all in in a fairly small space but Towels are not realy drying in the tiny bathroom.
We stayed 4 nights and there was just no way to get the room done.
Ok it’s corona time, ok personell might be hard to get, Prizeotel solution ahhh the guest will suffer it.
All no biggy all cool don’t be like that…..
If I would have been told and asked and maybe have a discount or a breakfast thrown in maybe it would have been ok.
But not to tell, still charge a rather high rate for 3 stars not so cool.

Hotel offers very good value for money if you book it in time. The location is great. Check in went smoothly and we even got a free room at 10:00. Rooms modern and perfectly adequate for a longer weekend. Plenty of parking available and these are quite large:-). Parking fee 22,- quite high, but parking is very wide. Rooms are cleaned daily unless you only want cleaning every 3 days. Lifts are quite fast. Room ambience is appealing. Our stay was great, so I like to award 5 points.

The room was very modern and interesting. Loved the colors . Bed was very comfortable. Had to ask for extra pillows which was no problem at all. The staff were very helpful especially Richter on the front desk. He helped with restaurant selections, taxi reservations, just all round a great man. You can get free coffee even if you don't get the breakfast buffet. No problem getting ice and water in your bottles. Dining area is huge and again with nice colorful design on the walls. Shower was powerful and enjoyable. Early check in was available and appreciated. Easy location to get to by public transit. 30 minutes from Cruise port terminal via taxi , 30 minutes from Hamburg airport via taxi. 14 stops on subway to get to Hamburg airport. Lidl grocery store right beside hotel so handy for groceries. Great restaurant was RPR reeperbande St Pauli at the 4 corner stoplight. We stayed one night before and after our cruise and would stay here again.

Unfortunately, when I got home I realized that I had forgotten my charging adapter with cable (approx. 70 euros): you can't contact the hotel directly by phone or email! So I contacted the head office twice (!) and communicated the situation: there was no response, not by email or phone... sad!!!

As already written, it is 50m from the S1 stop; and the S1 goes directly to the airport passing through the center. You go down from the room and you are in St. Pauli. Elba is 10 minutes away. Clean and quiet. Without concierge but with automated check-in.

Very good hotel in the immediate vicinity of the Reeperbahn. Were here for one night to attend a concert at the Grünspan. From there it is about 7 minutes on foot. The check-in took a little longer, as the self-check-in terminals unfortunately did not find my booking. With other guests, I also noticed this problem. The service team was friendly and helpful. We had a room facing the main street. But through the high-quality windows, nothing was heard and a good sleep was possible. The color choice of light blue and that, I call it spacey, design are a matter of taste. But everything was tip top clean. And the breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired. Although I would like to point out here in particular the focus of the sustainability kiet (no small packaging with 1,000 t of garbage).
