Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed at the Siegfriedshof for two nights & enjoyed my stay, the single room was a good size and all was spotlessly clean, there was an outside area at the front where you can sit & enjoy a beer and at a good price. Found the location to be ideal with the U-bahn, being about a 5 minute walk away and the STASI museum about a 10 minute walk away. There are also a few bars & eateries close by. It has a car park, but a shortage of space's, we were lucky as a car was just pulling out. All in all great hotel.

On the positive side the hotel is a reasonable walk from the station nd underground but wouldn't be great for those with mobility problems. I found the area a little on the dirty side but surprisingly I found a lot of Herlin really dirty on this visit, but back to the hotel. When we approached the small reception there was no warm welcome or greeting just a check that the room had been paid for then handed us a key and pointed us in the direction of our room! I don't know what I was expecting but this was not it! No kettle or coffee, tea etc. No ironing board or iron and no air conditioning or toiletries (except for general hand wash and shower wash) Basic. Breakfast was friendless also with no one around to advise the procedure but we worked it out and the food suited me and yes worth 8 euro. If you just want a base and frills don't matter then this is for you but I like comfort and friendly staff but didn't get it here.

The hotel is really excellent. Everything was clean. Even though we were only 3 people they gave us a room with 7 beds which was quite nice as there was a lot of space. The subway and train station are only a few minutes away and you can reach the city in about 15 minutes. You can get very delicious breakfast for only about 8 Euros. There aren't many restaurants in near the hotel but there is one right across it. I can only recommend it when you want a clean and comfortable hotel with friendly staff.

Hotel location good - near the train station ( less than 5 minutes walk ) and quiet environment, Room was clean and tidy - stayed in double room with two beds although I asked for 1 single double bed. Wifi slow - went to reception early next morning to complain and they re- booted the wifi equipment - was now much faster. Variety at breakfast could be more - do not eat pork or ham.
