We stayed at Dorint Kurfürstendamm Berlin for four nights. We drove here in our own car, so it was nice to be able to park in the parking basement at the hotel. It is a bit pricy (30 Eur per day) but it is convinient. It is not possible to book parking in advance but we had no trouble fining a parking spot.
Check-in was fast and the room was big - we had booked a superior room - which has a nice big bathroom with a hottub and shower. It also had a huge closet-area which was nice as we could easy fit all our lugage there so it would not clutter the room. TV features easy connections via HDMI (bring your own cable), Apple Airplay and Google mirror-connections. Nice as I have a tradition with the kids to watch a movie before bedtime. Overall, the room was clean and welcoming but if you travel with a child under 13, you will need to ensure an extra bed is set up. We were not aware of this and it came at an extra cost of 40 euros per night - which I think is a bit overpriced.
Breakfast was great and included what you would expect from a continental breakfast.
Hotel is located centrally in Berlin. We like to walk around the city when we visit and all the major sites are within a 5 km radius, which for us is considered walking-distance. There is also a lot of options for shopping very close to the hotel (less than 5 mins walk).
Overall, we were extremely happy with this hotel and our stay there. Would be happy to stay again when we visit Berlin next time.

It was the Sofitel and it is no longer. However, the service is impeccable and competent, daily cleaning including Sundays and even if you leave the room very late. The Nespresso machines are new and the capsules are replaced daily. Good sized rooms and perfect location for a visit to Berlin, close to Ku'dam shops, S-Bahn and U-Bahn and minutes from Tier Garten and Zoological Gardens. This Hotel will see us again

Check-in was quick, friendly and professional. The room was very large with a separate toilet, shower and bathtub, and plenty of seating. I always want a quiet room far away from the elevator and on a high floor. Everything was there. Room facing the inner courtyard, excellent soundproofing inside. That is very important to me. I have also used the fitness room and sauna. Some of the equipment in the fitness room is not working properly, but the small sauna with relaxation area is great, just not for many people. The breakfast is above average with lots of delicious salads, guacamole, omelettes, etc. Conclusion: if the price is right, I would be happy to come back.

This was our third stay in this hotel, although the first time we stayed at the Sofitel.
I had asked for a room on a higher floor for the 2 nights and my wish was granted.
The reception was very friendly as always.
The rooms are very large by Berlin standards, but still have carpet that is showing its age.
The bathrooms also need to be renovated.
You can get slippers and a second pillow on request.
A small bottle of water is included in the price and there is a capsule machine in the room.
The housekeeping team urgently needs training: we put our empty shopping bags from shopping next to our suitcases, and they were completely thrown away, including my earplugs on the bedside table!
That's not right!
The bathroom amenities, cotton pads etc. and toilet paper were not replenished.
The breakfast situation is so unbearable at the moment!
We had to have breakfast in the next room (conference room) on the second morning, which felt like a canteen. A makeshift buffet was set up, but you still have to go next door for bread and coffee.

Coffee is only available from two machines, which were very busy considering the number of guests.

So we had to queue.

Unfortunately, the quality of the breakfast has also deteriorated compared to our last visit.

One positive thing I would like to mention is the friendliness of the staff.

Unfortunately, for me, a good, comfortable breakfast is part of a sightseeing trip to Berlin; large rooms and the location alone are not enough for me.
This urgently needs to be improved!

We stayed at this hotel in room 709. Overall, we really liked the hotel. The rooms are spacious, and the bathroom was especially impressive — very large, with a separate shower and bathtub, as well as two sinks. The breakfast was good, although the selection was not very extensive. However, all the products were fresh and of excellent quality. The girl who made omelets stood out in particular — always friendly, and her omelets were simply delicious. The coffee was also very good.

However, there were a few things that spoiled the overall impression. First, the room had very poor soundproofing. The footsteps of the neighbors upstairs were so loud that it sometimes felt like they were walking right in our room. This caused discomfort and disrupted our rest.

Another serious issue was the housekeeping on the last day of our stay, January 2. Dirty cups, glasses, and wine glasses were left on the table. The trash bins in the bathroom and room were not emptied and were completely full. I contacted the reception desk to request cleaning and replacement of the dishes. Upon returning to the room, I discovered that the trash was still there. The glasses had been taken, but no cups were provided. Instead, they left one wine glass and three regular glasses.

I called reception again and explained that our room had a coffee machine, but no cups were provided. The staff insisted that cups are only available for rooms with coffee machines. After I clarified that we did have a coffee machine, cups were finally brought an hour later, but without any apologies — they were just handed to me quickly, and the staff member left.

Additionally, the deposit of 100 euros taken at check-in has still not been returned, even though it has been almost a month since our departure. This adds to the frustration and disappointment.

This incident significantly affected our impression of the service. When returning to your room, you expect it to be clean, tidy, and fully prepared for relaxation, without concerns about unreturned deposits.

That said, I must note that the housekeeping on all previous days was excellent, and the restaurant staff left a very positive impression. Overall, the hotel is good, but such issues should not overshadow the experience.

The best thing about this Dorint hotel is the location. Overall, the hotel does not meet the 5-star criteria. 2/3 of the lighting at the entrance to the hotel is either not switched on or broken, which is not very inviting. The central revolving door is also broken or at least not working, barricaded with furniture from the inside so that guests are not tempted to use it. To do this, guests have to manually operate the incredibly heavy glass doors to the right or left of this revolving door. There is no hotel employee anywhere who wants to help. Of course, there is no luggage service either. The service is mediocre at best in all areas. The welcome given to guests is not particularly cool. I stayed here for 2 nights, and I was asked to pay the bill when I checked in?! A bad habit overall, that is not acceptable in a 5-star hotel. The furniture and equipment is showing its age, and should be renovated soon. The same goes for the rooms, everything is a bit old. Praiseworthy, there is a Nespresso machine. An empty fridge is also not acceptable in this category! Instead, there is a kind of kiosk directly opposite the reception, where guests are supposed to provide for themselves, which is a shame. The bar on the ground floor is uncomfortable and not very inviting, it was actually always empty. In my opinion, this hotel deserves a maximum of 4 stars in this condition and with this service.

Stayed at the hotel for a reunion gathering for 4 nights. The hotel did a great job accommodating a large group and all the events. For this group, they could have had more bar tenders on available. The breakfast that was included in the rate was the typical European breakfast buffet with plenty of bread, fruit, meats, eggs, etc. The rooms were a nice size, very clean with a large bathroom and very large tub. Overall awesome experience.

The rooms (I had a comfort room) are larger than average and offer a safe, ironing board, coffee capsule machine, fridge, large TV, tilting windows, king-size bed. The bed was a bit too soft for me personally. The view of the department store opposite wasn't the best, but there was enough light in the room. My room had a connecting door to the next room, which I usually complain about immediately when checking in. But this time I didn't and it was a good thing. Either I had no neighbors during the 4 days or the soundproofing was optimal. Otherwise, the hallway was relatively quiet, which is not something you get in every hotel. The bathroom with its green marble is a bit old, you can see it from the stained shelf around the two washbasins, but it was clean. The existing bathtub is a plus, but I prefer to shower. So you can do both here. Another positive is that you can close the toilet with a sliding door.
I made the compromise with the carpet because of the excellent location. It's almost impossible to top it. Service was attentive and friendly. I hadn't booked breakfast or any other extras.
I would definitely recommend the hotel and would be happy to book there again myself.

I stayed at this hotel with my wife for five nights. I choose this hotel because of its location and price. No complaints there. The checking process was functional but otherwise the staff were friendly and helpful. I stayed in a standard room. I have stayed in this room type in the past (pre-Covid). It is a good size room, comfortable but now a bit dated. We were on the 9th floor, but the view overlooked a building that was under construction. That was not a problem for me. The real issue I had and the reason I will not be returning to this hotel, is the poor level of room amenities. No coffee machine, single small bottle of water provided (for two people) and not given on two days. Towels that were very thin and not large. No slippers or robes. Bearing in mind this is meant to be a five star hotel. Overall, that made us feel like we were staying at a budget hotel not a 5 star one. There has clearly been some cost cutting since my last stay. I could have paid for a better room such as a deluxe and I may have had more amenities in my room however the extra cost that would have entailed meant I could have got a better deal at one of the better 5 star hotels in the city.

The hotel was top notched in its look and comfortability. The staff was attentive and thorough. The bar and restaurant provided good food and service. The hotel’s location also helped as it allowed us to easily find good restaurants to be able to enjoy food beyond what was provided by the hotel.

I did use the executive lounge. There was a happy hour when you can get alcohol, breakfast is enough in the morning and you can get soft drinks during whole day. I think they close at 10pm (do not remember). Have fun!
