Dear, Thank you for your review. We always try to use hints and advices to better our quality. Unfortunately we did not get a feedback on site or with our feedback paper. Comfort and design is a very personal things sometimes, your writing left us speechless for a while though. We will accept your opinion but we also want to explain some things to the readers. We are situated right within the old center to be exactly, just below the castle. So sometimes in can be a bit tricky coming by car, but we send information and have a route map so works well. It is good to know you found the way easily. Thank you also for mentioning our breakfast which you seemed to like. Regarding the cons: Your room (you also posted 2 pictures here) is shown on our website, on booking.com, on tripadvisor, everywhere. So we do not understand why this should look "nothing like the online photos". Of course, there are different types of rooms, especially as they are mostly different shaped and from different times. But we like the individuality. And as mentioned, we show this room everywhere on the pictures? Of course, with bad angles from the middle of the room and poor lightning, one can make every room look different, but the room is popular, spacious and we receive good feedback. Taste is individual, but honestly, we finid this is a nice room. The carpet, with is also on the online pictures by the way, is a high quality carpet that is definitely no outdoor carpet. When prefering non-carpet floor, just let us know when booking. The we can provide a room according. But again, we do not only show pictures with non-carpet floor rooms, so we do not understand why this is expected or taken as a negative thing? There are shutters on the windows and door that allows a complete darkening of the room. The bed is a box spring bed (double spring loaded). Mattrasses are middle hardness by standard. When preferring a harder one, please let us know, in best case in avance so that our maids can prepare according. The sheets are no knit material (does that exist? never heard of that), but 100% cotton and rather soft hotel quality. Maybe you prefer jersey or seersucker style? We regret to learn you did not like, though we never had that complain before. Regarding later check-out, this is possible in some case. When having a whole change of the rooms that needs to be done until 14:00 and with some guests arriving earlier even, this can be impossible sometimes, though I hardly can imagin (sorry) that half an hour has been denied. Of course, you always have the possibility of storing your luggage here while discovering the town and area or using our restaurant. So all in all, we find it tough getting some ideas out of your review. Although really trying to understand and trying to feel your needs, this mostly is so against our other experiences and feedbacks that we stumble.

The hotel is in an old building in the center of this old city, but the rooms are thoroughly modern. Ours was very spacious, with large bed and plenty of seating area and closet space.
Great breakfast included. Restaurant is also nice for dinner.
Very reasonable price.

If you read Rick Steves Germany book you most likely have seen his recommendation for this hotel. During my stay the other Americans were there because of his recommendation! There was even one of his tour groups there during my stay. I stayed here August 31 - September 3rd.

Hi, is there any air conditioning in the room. I will be staying in July. Would it be very hot inside the room during the month of July?

does this hotel have an elevator and are there in room safes?
No elevator yet, in the traditional hotel, just stairways. A central safe is available, just ask at the reception if you like to deposit anything.
