We were here for the second time and felt very comfortable again. We were given a very friendly welcome and were given an upgrade with a view of Neu Schwanstein Castle. The location on Lake Forggensee is quiet and a good starting point for various activities such as hiking, cycling tours, sightseeing, cable cars, etc. Our suite had a living room, bedroom, children's room, balcony. Bathroom with shower and toilet were separate. There was a refrigerator, safe, 2 TVs, sauna bag with bathrobe and towels, kettle for tea and coffee. There was also a free bottle of water every day. The hotel has a wellness area with various saunas (60-90 degrees) and 2 swimming pools (1x inside and 1x outside). There are enough parking spaces and an underground car park for a fee. There are several charging options for electric vehicles. The breakfast is plentiful and you can find something for every taste. For dinner (with half board) you can choose from several main courses, and there is always a dish for vegetarians too. The staff is super nice, so you can feel completely at home. Disadvantage: Lake Forggensee does not always have water. From October to March the water is drained, so there is no water in the area of the hotel. It looks a bit like a dried-up lake, but it serves as flood protection.

Really like this hotel in term of the surroundings of Germany town, by the lake, view of Alps. Giving me a feeling of relax and wellness! Staff are very friendly. I am from Singapore, and stayed Sommer Hotel in Sept with cool temperature. My most enjoyable feel was swimming indoor and outdoor pools with view of snow on Alps top! I also love the Wellness spa. Great to walk around the hotel by the lake in the morning. Morning breakfast buffet is good with sun through the restaurant glass roof. Highly recommended to stay in Fussen. My stay purpose visit is Neuschwanstein Castle, and short drive to destination

What an excellent family run hotel: beautiful surroundings, wonderful foot and friendly staff. The high point of our return journey from Tuscany back home. Our dog loved swimming in the Forggensee and we enjoyed a boat trip before the next leg of our journey

From the outside and the surrounding area of the hotel is nice. However, don't let it fool you as the rooms have furniture and decoration from late 1990s. While this in itself isn't a problem, for the price of the hotel, you'd expect a more modern and newer amenities in the rooms. Additionally, there was only one person working the front desk when we are checking in. Also, I'm not sure if this is with all the rooms but our carpet had a smell and the windows are not very sound proof as we could overhear other guests chatting and smoking until 2am with our windows closed.
The hotel breakfast buffet is nice, but there is only 1 coffee machine for all the guests. Needless to say, you will surely wait in a long queue for your coffee. The omelette is great but highly suggest you to avoid the bread. It is harder than a rock!!! Another positive is the all you can eat salad bar for dinner, highly recommend.
The parking is also an issue as the hotel does not separate parking for the restaurant and hotel guests, creating unnecessary chaos. The parking garage is for small cars only and our rental SUV could not fit. It would be nice if they create a separate bike lane for the guests who use it so when cars entering and leaving the parking lot, it is safer for both the cars and the cyclists.
One last thing, upon check out, it was pointed out hotel WiFi costs 8 Euro a night. One suggestion to the hotel: Don't list this! Or better yet waive the charge! It's 2022, not 2005!

I can't understand where all the positive reviews come from!!
The hotel is beautifully located on Lake Forggensee. Great view of the mountains and the lake. The impression you get when you look at the pictures on the homepage is promising. Unfortunately, they have nothing to do with reality:(
The helpfulness of the staff was limited, as was their friendliness.
I didn't get the feeling of being a guest, supplicant is more the right word.
With exceptions, of course!! The staff who cleaned the rooms were extremely friendly and attentive, and the same goes for a large part of the service staff.
We booked a suite and got a large bedroom, which was also very nicely furnished. The room in front of it was more like a walk-through room. No couch, no pillows to make yourself comfortable in.
The attention to detail... a lot of room for improvement!!
The minibar was empty.
On the first of the three days we stayed there, we asked if this was really a suite???... and if there was a possibility, we would like to change to one that looked like the pictures on the website.
The young woman at the reception took our request and then nothing happened until we left!!
Very disappointing!
The food is unfortunately not worth repeating either. There is a lack of sophistication and freshness and vegetarians have a hard time. The breakfast buffet, on the other hand, was great! The smells from the kitchen permeate the corridors, which is unpleasant. The price-performance ratio is not right.

Let me start with the good: service in the restaurant was ok, checkout was fast and friendly.
However, when we arrived at the hotel the checkin was a disaster. The guy at the reception did not understand/speak German correctly (nor English) and could not find our reservation. Finally I pointed on his desk with the hotel paper of our reservation. I had several questions, unfortunately he could not respond to one of them. Without getting any support rgd luggage we were sent to our room: really dated and the bathroom incl. toilet was about 2 sqm. Definitely not what we expect if paying more than €300,- per night. Going to the highly praised SPA: again the spa reception speaking/understanding poor German only and could not respond other than find yourself. Indoor and outdoor pool are also dated and water was not really warm. Service at dinner was just ok, however, the steak of my wife dry and my duck not crispy.
Will we return? Certainly not !!

How do I start..... The standard room we booked was absolutely fine. It was clean, big enough and quiet. The food was very tasty throughout, but unfortunately there was a BUT. Before arrival, you could indicate any food intolerances, which we did. On the first evening, when our table was assigned, these were even mentioned again. But unfortunately that was it. When choosing the main course, not all of the ingredients were listed and we thought it would be prepared accordingly. That wasn't the case. We then swapped the food among ourselves. In hindsight, we should have said something. But unfortunately it was already too late. I think it's a real shame that these things aren't addressed when you're explicitly asked about them. The wellness area is very small, not to say too small for the number of guests. There is an 80C sauna that doesn't have 80c and only has space for two people if one of them is sitting. The other saunas aren't much bigger. The 90C is already very full with about 4-5 people, the 70C with 3 people and the largest sauna at 60C can fit maybe 6 people. You can safely miss the infusion. On the day we were in the sauna, a hotel guest had to remind us about the infusion because nothing happened at 5 p.m. He then came back to the sauna with a bucket and did the infusion himself.
In my opinion, it is not a wellness hotel. The relaxation area is spacious and nice, though. The staff were also consistently friendly.

A nice hotel. Great location right on Lake Forggensee and good starting point for excursions, both in view of the castles as well as hiking and cycling trips. The rooms are modern and very clean. However, the price-performance ratio was not right for us when comparing with other wellness hotels: No welcome drink. The breakfast buffet is rich, but not special. Standard buffet. In this price range, most other hotels offer at least a small lunch snack. The evening menu is good but doesn't keep up with other menus of comparable hotels. The pools for a wellness hotel too cold.

We booked a very expensive "romantic" weekend here, but when we arrived it was just a disappointment. The room faced the street and the parking lot. With the windows open (because there was no air conditioning) you couldn't sleep because the noise from the street was just too loud from 4 a.m. onwards. The romance was gone. The kitchen promised a 5-course menu in the half-board, but in reality that's just one course. The rest is more like all-you-can-eat self-service at the counter. The wellness area is too small for the number of guests accommodated in the hotel.

People are so unfriendly in this hotel. Dinner says from 8-9:30 and they didn’t want to serve us food, they had to discuss between the stuff for them to give us a place in the restaurant. I went with my swiss family and before lunch we sat at the table in order to get something to drink and 3 waitresses passed around us for an hour and we didn’t get served. The handle of the door of the room is broken. We ordered a double bed and we got this bed one above the other and there’s no promised view to the castle. You really need to improve.

In Germany it is usual to be nude in a Sauna of a SPA.
