Detailed Reviews
This hotel is in a fabulous location located a few steps from the beautiful pedestrian area on the town square with many outdoor wine bars and cafes that fill up in the afternoon spilling out to the sidewalk . The hotel was clean and lovely with a pool and a hot tub and sauna building. It had a delicious extensive breakfast spread and excellent friendly service . It was pricier than other hotels we stayed at during our week long trip and only had shampoo, no conditioner or body wash in the shower, but I still would highly recommend !

We recently stayed at the Hotel Zugspitze for 5 nights. This is a first class hotel with a very competent, friendly staff. It is definitely worth getting a junior suite. We really loved our room and balcony!
The meals were all delicious. We definitely recommend getting half board. The chef is amazing, and some of the things we had were really gourmet. I recall my favorite dish was a cheese brûlée starter that was out of this world. The dinners were 5 courses!
When I complained about the hard bed, the staff put a topper on it that solved all my problems and was wonderful!
We also enjoyed the hotel's proximity to the pedestrian area, which was delightful.
For getting to the ski area, you had a 1 block walk to the bus stop or a 2 block walk to the train station.
The pool and saunas were very nice.
The only deficiency we experienced was that the massages given by Chris were sub-par - very short, and there was a lack of effort.

Our recent two week trip around Bavaria involved staying at 5 different accommodations, one of which was a one night stay at the Hotel Zugspitze. We wished we had known how nice the hotel was in advance and would have stayed longer. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, the location of the hotel within a short walking distance of shopping and restaurants was great, the rooms were clean, comfortable, and well equipped, the bathroom and shower were updated and refreshing, and the view from the balcony was sensational. The spa was a fantastic way to recover after a long day of travel. We truly enjoyed our time there.

What a great hotel! We immediately felt welcome, were even given a short tour of the common areas. Location is excellent - very short walk from the centre. Our deluxe room had a view of the mountain and was very spacious, including the bathroom. The daily "Jause" (afternoon tea/coffee with snack) was a nice touch.
Breakfast was served at the table due to Corona but that was no issue. The half board option - dinner for two for just €40 - is the bargain of the decade. Four courses of delicious food, with Michelin Bib Gourmand rating. We are not really into fine dining, but the quality and taste was terrific, and the service more relaxed than stuffy and formal.
Internet was good. Our TV had some issues though, most of the time ARD did not work, sometimes ZDF. We should have reported it but didn't.
Underground parking is a plus, reserve in advance. Some charging points would be a welcome additon.
We will remember our experience at this hotel and warmly recommend it.

The breakfast is very good and the staff is professional. You can choose the dine in the restaurant or in the bar area wich is cosy and serve good food and beer in a relaxing environment. The rooms have a good size and there are some different ones to choose between (if the hotel is not fully booked).

Very good breakfast and pleasant staff. Nice pool area. Professional treatments can be booked so you can feel really pampered and relaxed. A nice garden with clean furniture where it’s possible to enjoy beverage or a meal is appreciated. I have stayed at this hotel many times throughout the years and it’s one of my favourites in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

We drove here from Fussen and found this hotel quite easily with in vehicle GPS. There is ample parking at the basement garage. Overall location was good as we were able to walk out for dinner and we used this hotel as our base to visit Zugspitze.
Our room was spacious clean and very comfortable. The inroom coffee machine was a treat as the drink was made from beans.
The hotel has a spa, heated pool, sauna and gym. We had breakfast only for one morning and the spread was good. The tea we had (riobos cream orange) left a strong impression.

We stayed for 3 nights while exploring the town and the surrounding area. The hotel is well-positioned, 5- 10 minutes walk from the train station, and a similar distance from the old town, with restaurants and bars, in the other direction. There are great views of the mountains all around.
We had a ‘superior’ room, looking out towards the front of the hotel. It was a large and comfortable room, with a good bed, and a settee. The bathroom was well-equipped with twin washbasins and an excellent shower.
The buffet breakfast was really good with a wide choice available. For dinner, whichever dining room you are in, there are three menus available, with set prices for three courses. In practice, this is more flexible than it appears, as you can mix and match across the menus, just have one or two courses, or share a course. All the food was of high quality.
Service at the hotel was friendly and helpful throughout.

Excellent service- very clean- breakfast was excellent The location is great for accessing the town center (square). Staff was extremely helpful with all our questions.
Note for American or European Christian families- the hotel encourages everyone to wash off in the public showers before using the hottub, swimming pool, and sauna. As such, there are naked women and men in close proximity to each other.

I can’t say it any simpler: This hotel is perfect in every way. From the friendly and knowledgeable staff, to the fantastic breakfast, to the well-appointed rooms, we could not have had a nicer stay in Garmisch Partenkirchen. This hotel is spotlessly clean — I challenge anyone to find even the smallest dust bunny in a corner. Our room easily fit three, with a lower level with a couch bed and an upper loft area with a double bed. Bathroom was large, modern, and immaculate.
It’s in a great location, may be a minute walk to the pedestrian zone. Plenty of restaurants and shops in the area.
Hotel staff was eager to answer all of our questions, and we were able to buy passes for the Zugspitze cable car from the hotel.
Breakfast had a ton of selections. One of the best we’ve seen in Europe. The hotel also had complimentary afternoon snacks and coffee - a nice touch.
Wi-fi was also strong and easily accessible.
We would return again to Hotel Zugspitze with any hesitation whatsoever.
Hint: I would recommend paying extra for a parking space in the garage underneath the hotel. The free parking is a bit of a walk away. It was having easy access to our rental car.

No , the hotel rooms have no AC
The outside temperature during our stay was 28-30 degrees but the room temperature was still very pleasant
I can absoulutly agree with all previous posts. Please write us an email for a price list for the laundry service. As already said a self service laundry shop is just a couple minutes away from the hotel. Hope I could help. Do not hesitate to contact us.

Florian
Hotel Zugspitze
Dear dilovesthesea,
thank you for your question. We are glad to help you.
We are not directly at the slopes. But from us it is just a 5 minute walk to the "Zugspitze" train station, which brings you to all the ski areas in a couple minutes. Cross country skiing starts at Hausberg, which is pretty close to the ski areas.
You can rent ski items on a lot of rental stations in Garmisch, some of them are next to the slopes. We are working together with Skischule Sprenzel.
If you have further questions do not hesitate to contact us.
Yours sincerely
Florian
