My family and I recently visited Hotel Edelweiss to have breakfast there. The hotel offers breakfast to nonguests for 24€ per person. The breakfast buffet was recommended to us by friends of ours. When we arrived, we were shown to our table which wasn't in the breakfast room

We were supposed to have a superior double with a mountain view but when we walked, into the room it was a suite facing the street. Went back to reception and was told we had been given an upgrade. Dubious about the explanation but as we had a very busy evening planned, decided

Having just completed a tour of Salzburg after a long day this was a welcomed sight. Hotel was well maintained and very clean. Check in was a little cumbersome but I am sure that was due to the number of people in our group just arriving. Room was neat, clean and a great view

Dear PatP thank you so much for your wonderful feedback - this is great and the two points mentioned (check in and room temperature) were like this definitely as you say due to many people arriving at the same time and so much sun and warm weather for so many months ... We are happy that you enjoyed your stay anyways and we wish you all the best for your trip through Europe - enjoy it! Yours, team EDELWEISS

After partaking in the Munich Germany Oktoberfest, my travel party and I took the train to Berchtesgaden where we stayed at the Hotel Edelweiss. The property itself is situated on a hill with a substantial array of both commercial and mom and pop style store fronts. The area

Are there laundry facilities in the hotel? In other words, can we do our laundry there?
There is a laundromat up near tge church on the same side as edelweiss hotel. The laundromat is part of a small hotel opposite the greek restaurant. They are not the easiest to us & sometimes only 2 washers are working, dryers no problem there is 2. If you have a problem go to the reception of that hotel they are very helpful. Takes coins $2 & 1$ only. Take your own wash powder too. Go first thing in the morning at 8.30 or before 6.30pm close at 8pm i think.

Does this hotel have in-room air conditioning?
This is a good question, as this was confusing for us before we traveled. Hotel Edelweiss does not have traditional air conditioning with air blown by a fan. Instead, they have pipes in the floor through which they force cold water. Our trip was in the heat of July, and we were unable to get the room as cool as we are accustomed to for sleeping. That said, I should point out that this is an awesome place to stay for many reasons and should we visit Berchtesgaden again we would certainly stay at the Edelweiss.

It's about 20 30 minutes by taxi. If we had less luggage, we'd have taken the train. And, yes, absolutely, day trips to Salzburg are very doable. Actually, we did an Obersalzburg and eagles nest with a local company who informed us that most of her tour people come up from Salzburg on the bus or train for the day, and she was delighted that we were staying in Berchtesgaden
