Everything we wanted to see in Ulm we could reach within walking distance - so seen the hotel was ideal for us.
Only (small) drop of wormwood: The parking fee in the Salzstadel car park is relatively steep. According to the reception, the hotel has not been able to negotiate better prices for hotel guests with the car park.
Conclusion: We would love to come back - for sure!
After we parked the car for 18 euros per day in the nearby public underground car park Salzstadl, we checked in and moved into the rooms. The receptionist was very nice and the rooms were modern, big enough and clean. The breakfast was small but nice and there was absolutely enough choice. The hotel is centrally located and we would book it again at any time.
We stayed in this hotel during our stopover to our holiday destination. We had two rooms (a double and triple room).
A nice and clean hotel, nice beds, shutters (so very dark), rain shower. A public parking garage is at the end of the street, which is less than a 2-minute walk. You can also use the extensive breakfast buffet for just €10 per person.
There is no bar at the hotel, but there is around the corner. In addition, Ulm is a very nice big city and we were able to eat delicious food in the city center.
All in all, a nice hotel!
Small hotel, without ostentation or luxury, but very comfortable rooms, clean, and well maintained.
Fair breakfast, lacks a little variety, but it serves the purpose of having something to eat before starting the day.
Note: reception closes at 10:30 p.m.
3 real stars..
Our room was very clean and comfortable bed, however there is a shelf on top of the bed and you can hit your head easily.
The breakfast was good (very small room for it) and the staff was very friendly.
The bathroom did not have tiles which can be a stylistic choice, but it was spatula (perhaps done voluntarily) so much that it seemed (I repeat it seems) with mold was actually just stained. Even the shower, large, with laminate walls is really camper/caravan.
There was only one micro bedside table on one side of the bed, while the other was missing.
The choice of carpet in the room is really bad for cleaning the room. If it is back in fashion, it is not something to use in a hotel room. It's practically impossible to keep it clean enough that it had a visible stain.
"Third floor rooms have sloped ceilings. If you're tall, you might want to ask for something lower."Read full review
"We stayed in room 13. The bathroom window overlooks the 'old wall' and the bedroom window overlooks the side road (Deinselsgasse). No complaints about this room."Read full review
"The 4th floor rooms get a little hot, and the lift does not go all the way. On the other hand, they are original rooms and you have the view of the munster over the rooftops."Read full review
