My husband and I took our large family to Germany and stayed here because we had such a positive experience the last time we stayed here as a couple. Unfortunately, during this stay, we were disappointed because the service was inconsistent. Since we were staying here, I didn’t expect that we would need to carry a credit card with us for the breakfast buffet (assuming we would be able to simply charge it to our room). The staff at the front of the restaurant had our names and our room numbers on a list. However, on some days they required us to charge it on our credit card, other days we were able to charge it to our room. The inconsistencies were mostly annoying - more than anything else. In addition, room service was limited and the housekeepers did a mediocre job. If we ordered room service the night before we were expected to bring our trays and place them outside our room because the housekeepers would not remove them while they were cleaning our room. I don’t believe this was an issue when we visited this hotel the first time. Maybe it was COVID related and there simply wasn’t enough workers. However, this wasn’t explained to us and leaving dirty dishes in a room after it was otherwise “cleaned” was disappointing.

On the positive side, the hotel was gorgeous and had an amazing view. (See the photo of the view from our room!)

Good size room for a family, decent size bathroom, great shower option. The breakfast was varied and fresh, great coffee choices. The pool and saunas were decent size and clean. Parking availability in the underground with pay was really convenient. The dinner option is 30 eur/person and the food is really nice, always had good options. The view of Danube is the best feature of the hotel.

Disliked · The bathroom amenities were scarece and not available for days, even though we specifically mentioned them, and no vanity kits available at all. The bathrobes were not available in the room, those needed to be requested at reception. The furnishings are in ok condition but they could use updating, the TV as well. The wifi was one of the poorest I have encountered, reception was ok in the reception area, it disconnected a lot even so and logging in was done by room number and name every time... the rest of the areas barely had any signal at all. The minibar was empty, but we did get a complimentary 0.5l water bottle at the reception on arrival (not in the room!). If you need a quick drink or snack there are some options sold at the reception area, a bit overpriced though (to say the least!). There were warnings for mosquitoes if windows were open (there weren't any mosquito nets), but to be honest all I could see were big spiders outside the window - so they stayed closed.
The major warning is that they have just started renovating some rooms so the noise does not stop until 10 pm!

As far as value for money and size of room this hotel is hard to beat. What lets it down is the the décor is the room was a bit dated, although the bathroom was recently renovated. Not sure if it was due to COVID but the Panorama restaurant was closed and the other restaurant only had a very limited menu (3 options for main) which did not change in the two night we were there, which given the hotel is a bit outside of town was disappointing. Breakfast was ok depending on who served you, first morning we were asked what coffee we wanted on the second day I was told the machine is over there.
The pool is nice although only open for a limited time which doesn't seem to make sense.
It would be interesting to see what this place would be like during normal operations.

The girl at the reception spoke a very poor English, despite the British flag on the name tag, it was almost impossible to understand. No explanation about the hotel services was provided, there isn’t a concierge. We asked for a dinner in the restaurant and it was already closed, on Friday at 8 pm.
Same story for the day after, the piano bar was already closed on Saturday at 10pm.
The fridge in the room was empty, actually there was some left over beer from previous guests. There was no room service menu in the room, I am not even sure there was the room service at all.
The room was clean and the size was ok.
The breakfast was a standard continental breakfast, nothing too great.

Overall I don’t think we would come back.

Was supposed to stay at the Maritim for 9 days but decided to move after 1 1/2 day.

Nothing is open! Not the gym, not the bar, not the restaurant! One restaurant was open, the breakfast restaurant, but they only serve pizza or burger!!

The girls in the reception are nice, but their English is are really not up to par.

This might use the corona as an excuse but it is simply not good enough.

Ps. They charge full price even though all service is not available!

Nice mid range hotel. Stayed here before visiting the nearby Legoland theme park. Modern, clean rooms with lots of space. Very good buffet breakfast breakfast. Central location does mean you will have to use the hotel parking at extra cost.

(+) It is a big hotel with banquet halls. We booked a spacious room on the 9th floor with Danube view, which is nice any time of the day, be it a sunset or sunrise. Breakfast is excellent - a lot of choices, everyone can find something (even champagne).
(-) Unfortunately despite having 3 elevators, only one or two are in operation. We stayed on the upper floor and had to wait for quite some time to get down for breakdown in the morning. One day my wife asked twice to bring s bed sheet to our room and leave it on the bed, while we were absent. It did not happen and had to ask about it again in the evening. Parking costs 18 euro per day, which is somewhat pricey.

We were just passing through Ulm and needed a hotel for a night. The Maritim was highly rated at a reasonable nightly rate. Located overlooking the Danube River, the Maritim has 16-floors with good views of the river and city of Ulm. The rooms were air conditioned, clean and spacious. The hotel provides secure, attached, underground parking (for an additional fee). The breakfast buffet was outstanding (the best of our three-week trip). My wife and I were very impressed with the Maritim and would recommend it highly to anyone visiting the area.

Although Maritim is a major chain in Germany as well as throughout Europe, this is the first time my wife and I stayed in one of their properties. All in all, a great hotel offering some incredible views of the Ulm Minster and the Danube. The check in was very easy with most desk clerks having various language skills. What I didn't like was how much more parking and the breakfast was added on to the stay. Still, I must say that the any breakfast offering champagne says a lot to us as we always enjoy several glasses before hitting the pavement to walk the city. We also closed out our evenings each night enjoying more wine and/or champagne. Next time, perhaps we will dine up here in the restaurant with a panorama view overlooking the Danube and the city. This place had an indoor pool; however, the water was not warm. Perhaps that was intentional to dissuade usage in this COVID environment. As Germany continues to open, I may have to start checking this chain out as we were overall impressed.

Located just a few minutes' walk from the historic old town, the hotel's location is undeniably ideal for those wishing to explore the area. The rooms, while somewhat dated, are generally well-maintained, clean, and comfortable. However, there are a few small enhancements that could significantly improve the guest experience, such as the addition of more power sockets and USB charging points.

One of the hotel's standout features is its tranquil atmosphere, making it an excellent choice for a restful night's sleep. On the downside, the breakfast offering, while adequate, left something to be desired. A greater selection of local cuisine would have been appreciated, though there is still enough variety to ensure most guests will find something to their taste.
The most notable disappointment, however, was the cost of parking. Despite the large size of the carpark, which is rarely more than half full, the parking fees seem disproportionately high. This detracts from the overall value of the stay, especially considering the ample availability of parking spaces.
