Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

First of all the location is very good. It's in the middle of everything. Parking garage next door, and more or less located at the main train station.

Room is a standard Motel One room, but I would say it could need some proper carpet cleaning, as there are huge stains in the hallway, and also our room.

I was simply not impressed with the service level of the staff at this Stuttgart hotel. Check in agent did not make we feel welcome at all. He could not find my reservation in the system, and that was my problem, even though I tried to show him the motel one app. Not a good first impression.

When I later went down to reception due to some issues with the aircon in our room, the help I got was simply so rude and the same agent did not care at all that I had a room too hot to be in. We finally figured out the system after google helped us, still too warm a room for my liking, but better. Apparently there is a winter and summer setting. We got only the winter setting.
The check in agent also told us that breakfast could be purchased in the morning. When we tried to do so, we were told that breakfast was full, and we could try back in an hour again. I understand all the covid restrictions, but information is the key here. Nice if we had been told, or if there was a letter in the room, or a poster at the breafast, or anything really.

so location is great, the room ok, but staff and flow of information needs improvement.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent. The rooms are comfortable minimalist with everything you need but nothing you don't. Location is great S-Banh station just 2 - 3 steps from the main entrance. I will definitely stay here again.

Great Hotel with great location and Amazing Service. Directly in the city center, 2 mins away and you are in the Königstrasse of Stuttgart. Their famous Shopping street. Regarding the rooms they where as stated in the pictures, Cleaness of rooms was on point. I do recommend it.
Their Morning Buffet was with variety of food to meet everyone's taste.

I waited a week before writing this review to give them a chance. I stayed there with my mother for 3 nights. From the minute you walk in the door they make you feel like a nobody, and when you leave it is like you never existed. Travelling from Canada, I had 2 power converters. When I use to travel with my late husband he always joked that I was using his, so he wrote his name on his. He passed away last year and this was my first trip without him. Well I accidently left them at the hotel. I realized on the train and immediately emailed them as I was sure the room was not even cleaned as it was early. No reply. I emailed again that evening, no reply. And again the next day, no reply. Then I put my email through google translate and emailed a fourth time in German, no reply. Then on the next day, an email came from their marketing department asking about our stay. I replied that I had sent an email and asked if they could assist. I got an automatic reply saying someone would get back to me, no reply. Then I forwarded my chain of emails to my work email, and resend it from that account, thinking maybe it was my gmail account getting blocked, no reply.

I realize what I left behind would seem trivial but to me it was sentimental. Either way, what kind of hotel ignores all email for 1 week? I will never, ever, stay at another Motel One and highly recommend, if you want even the smallest amount of service, respect or attention that you avoid them.

I've read similar complaints that the thermostat in the room doesn't work and when we asked the receptionist downstairs, he said the rooms don't have ac.... A bit unacceptable to be honest. We just opened the window. Room was clean when we arrived though.

Well, we tried to make a reservation but never received a confirmation. They charged my credit card for $178.13 but would never confirm that we had a reservation! We went back and forth with them via email (and they never answered the phone) but to no avail. So I'm now trying to have my credit card company deny the payment..

Motel One is one of the biggest hotel brands in Germany.
This 3* hotel is modern and very close to the main railway station Stuttgart HBF.

The room was good and very clean.
Only a water kettle is missing.
A small safe is available.
The bed was very good.

The bar and the reception are stylish and very nice. This is typical for the brand of Motel One.

The whole staff was very friendly.

I enjoyed my stay in the hotel.

Booked this hotel on recommendation of some friends who had recently stayed a sister Mobil one hotel. Can not fault it- great location a few minutes walk from the centre. Lovely surroundings and a comfortable bed- good quality toiletries in the bathroom. Lovely bar and outdoor area to sit and have a drink- highly recommend- and a great price too!

This place is very close to train station. However the room is tiny. There is barely enough room in the bathroom to stand. Also no vent in bathroom. There is a really small desk/table. I had to catch and early train so I had to miss breakfast. Didn't offer a takeaway option

If it was raining, you would not even need an umbrella to make it to the nearest S-bahn entrance open during the day. The closest late night entrance is a short block away, ~ 100 yards.

I'm traveling by car, do you have a parking garage?
Answer from Elsetravelling
Nairobi, Kenya217 contributions116 helpful votes
they do not, and there are several ones around but please take into account, they do not accept card or credit card payment, which gave us a long run finding a cash dispenser.... quite ironical : the motown of Germany : no card payments in the car garages in the middle of downtown...
