Although I am a native of Stuttgart, I had never been to the Waldhotel before. It is located only 700 m from the (world's first) TV tower, surrounded by woods.

My room was very large, the bed very comfortable, the bathroom very generously sized, the view of the woods very relaxing, and the food was amazing. The breakfast choices are both healthy and indulgent - depending on what you feel like. The lunch buffet had plenty of choices, and the dinner food was outstanding.

The staff were extremely friendly throughout our business stay, the conference room opened onto a terrace and the front view also opened onto the woods.

Staying in these calming surroundings, you wouldn't know you're in a big city, only a 7 minute tram ride from the city center.

I did stay here on business, but would be happy to stay here for a local getaway weekend anytime.

We stayed for one night only and had a very good overall experience. It started with the underground car park; this was chargeable but came with free Tesla destination charging for our electric car.
Our room was small , but with a very comfy bed and a nice bathroom (with very fluffy towels!)
The dinner in the Finch restaurant would be categorised as fine dining. All meals were delicious and the service was impeccable.
We had guests for breakfast (on the spacious patio, adjacent to the gardens), and the hotel did not even charge us for our granddaughter, as she is less than six years old. - The Eggs Benedict were very well cooked !! Again very attentive service.
Not to forget the spa area, a proper hot Finnish sauna and a very good steamroom, very clean and modern facilities here, too.

The Hotel plus the Restaurant Finch is on the outskirts of Stuttgart. Since we have two dogs, the nearby forest was an extra attraction.

The rooms could be a bit bigger, but all is covered by very friendly service and the excellent Restaurant. If you go to Stuttgart and you don't have to be in the Center, this is your destination. Ample parking, quiet, reliable WiFi and good food.

In Stuttgart finding a real good hotel is rather difficult. The Waldhotel stands out in a very positive way!
The location of this hotel right behind the TV tower and just next to the forest site is unique, providing a tranquil and silent surrounding as well as nice sport opportunities.
The hotel itself is very well maintained and carefully developed over the last years. The cozy and very stylish rooms are extremely comfortable and clean, the daily breakfast is of high quality and offers a great variety of choice (e.g the tea station is remarkable). The restaurant Finch offers very delicious and high quality food in a great atmosphere and ambience. Overall this is a wonderful place to spend some days, or even just a Lunch or Dinner...

Close enough to the autobahn to quickly get on and off for business trips. Great hotel to relax and enjoy after a busy day. To other reviewer's points, it is off a small road....if traveling from the airport via taxi I advise you make sure the driver knows where it is. Mine did not initially but another did.

That said, I will never stay anywhere else in Stuttgart for business or personal. I was truly stunned when I walked into my room! While the hotel is a bit remote from shopping, restaurants - they are accessible. For the beautiful forest environment and view from the rooms....the peaceful atmosphere.....this is truly a gem (and very reasonably priced), especially after a long day of business meetings.

The staff is friendly and welcoming and if you are an international visitor (maybe not so good with German) they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome.

Their restaurant onsite provides delicious, well made food - although it is a bit pricey.

Dear CYNDIG901, thank you for taking the time for giving us a Review of your stay in the Waldhotel Stuttgart. what more can we say but "Thank You" when reading your lovely words and your favorable evaluation. We love to hear that you feel very welcome during your stay in our hotel and that you see the benefit in the hotel situation close to the woods and even with good connection to the fair , autobahn and to the Stuttgart City. Cordiality is one of the utmost important characteritics of our staff and it is perfect to hear that we could provide this. Next time you should visit our Hotelbar and enjoy handmade cocktails there. The builiding of the Waldhotel Stuttgart was built around 1910 so parts of the today's hotel are historically listed. In autumn 2011, the hotel was re-opened after having been completely renovated and enlarged for almost two years. All the more, we are so happy that our guests feel welcome and comfortable with us, are delighted with our facilities and like value for money. We are very proud, that we are now your favorite Hotel in Stuttgart and hope to welcome you again in Stuttgart Degerloch. Warm regards and all the best. We were recommended to stay here by our friend who live locally so we decided to try it. It was our first time in Stuttgart and did not know what to expect.
The hotel was lovely; beautiful, comfy rooms and very helpful staff. Set in beautiful German countryside it was a wonderful stay. The only minus is that it was quite a while from the city centre therefore spent a lot on taxi journeys but that was only due to the fact we were recommended that place and didn’t research further.
For a weekend city getaway it is not the best location but for a relaxing stay with lovely food and drinks it is worth the visit! Will be back :)

What a find this is! Located about 10 minutes drive away from the airport and messe, we took a taxi from the airport which cost 30 euro. The hotel itself is extremely well presented, very nice decor, all top quality funishings and modern yet classy decor. The staff are very freindly, lovely warm welcome on arrival and perfect English for us non German speaking guests. Our room, a Classic, was spacious, clean, well presented and quiet with a view across a courtyard which would be lovely in Summer. The bathroom was large, all marble with a very modern marble wet room type large shower and frosted glass screen diving it from the bedroom, lovely REN toiletries and ample little extras such as cotton buds, sewing kit, nail file etc. we paid for breakfast with our room rate before arrival and we were so glad as the breakfast was absolutely fantastic, brilliant chloice of fresh, good quality porducts, everything you could possibly need from fresh fruit salads, yoguurts, juices, nuts, seeds, cereals, various breads, pastries, cold meats, hot food, infact although this may sound similar to many other hotel breakfasts, we would say it was ampng the best we have had in a hotel. Very nice to have proper table linen on the tables, comfy chairs and very efficients staff. We also ate in the restaurant one evening, although fairly pricey, it was excellent food, service & surroundings. The tram is a 2 minute walk away, this goes regularly into Stuttgart main station, taking about 10 minutes, you can then change for a tram to the airport/messe which takes about 30 mins and stops right in the airport/messe itself so all really easy and convenient. The hotel is next to a wooded recreation area, so in Summer it would be nice for walking. Wish more hotels were like this! Fabulous!

My wife and I came to Stuttgart to attend a music event and made a long weekend of it.

The location in the leafy suburbs of Stuttgart is ideal for anyone wishing to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. The best part is that you are only about 400m from the Waldau U-bahn station which takes you right to the centre of Stuttgart. Take the U7 line to Monchfeld and get off at Schlossplatz in the city centre; it’s about 5 Stops and cost less than €10 return for two of us. You get the same line back towards Ostfildern and trains run until after midnight. It was just so easy.

On arrival we were given a free upgrade which included some free drinks each day in the mini-bar and a room with a balcony looking out in to well-kept hotel grounds and in to the forest. Sitting out in the morning listening to the birds was just lovely.

The room was spacious with a traditional touch and a very modern bathroom with a walk-in shower. There is a large frosted glass panel that allows light in during the day but also has the misfortune of lighting up the whole room at night if someone uses the bathroom. There was also a Nespresso coffee making machine which I loved.

We didn’t take breakfast but did eat in the restaurant on the first evening. We arrived late due to traffic and they were really flexible moving our booking back an hour to allow us to freshen-up. The food was delightful, we both had different steak variations and both were delicious. We followed this with a mini cheeseboard (it’s enough for two) and several glasses of Prosecco for less than €100. The staff in the restaurant and the bar were so friendly and helpful it was just a pleasure to be here.

I also took advantage of the wellness facilities in the shape of the steam room and sauna. The area was set out nicely with an outdoor relaxation area outside the sauna. Be aware (Fellow Britons) the area is mixed gender; the shower area, steam room and sauna are not places for the modest, nudity is not an issue here. I just joined in (When in Rome and all that). It was a very relaxing experience.

All in all this a great hotel, far enough from the city to enjoy the tranquility with excellent transport links to enjoy a night out. The facilities and the staff were first-class. If I return to Stuttgart, I will stay here for sure.

To be honest, I am not sure there is a Cafe close to the hotel. The breakfast we had included in the room rate, so it was fine for us. However, the price for breakfast for two Teenagers is maybe not reasonable. If you have a car, you will find an alternative close to the hotel for sure.

The city centre is certainly not on your doorstep, but a short train ride ( station is 5 mins or so walk) or drive away. A lovely hotel however. Very quiet
