Just note that the street the hotel is on is dissected by the tram line and taxi drivers often drop people off on the wrong end. The hotel is on the north east side, (up the hill). The street on the other side of the tram line down the hill isn't so inviting (a LIDL and an 'adult' shop. The area felt very safe at night though.
I wouldn't hesitate to return.
Second, The Host. Wonderful man! Mr Wolfgang Ziegler is not an owner who simply has his name on the building; he is 100% hands-on. He is very welcoming, prepares breakfast every morning and just an all-round very pleasant gentleman indeed!
Reception was closed when we arrived; but a very effective security-coded system allowed us to get our key and into our room which, like the rest of the hotel; was immaculate. Two very large single beds next to each other make for a vey sizeable double yet; which my wife fully appreciated as it allowed her to (sort of) escape my incessant snoring!!
In addition, more plug sockets than you can shake a stick at; a TV on desk and a chair.
The wardrobe is equipped with hangars and plenty of storage for other items which don't need hanging. The only thing the room doesn't have is a safe; but one is available, if required, in reception.
The bathroom too is equipped with an excellently powerful shower and fully functional basin, heated towel rail and loo.
The breakfast is of continental type; delicious and filling.
All in all I can't recommend this hotel highly enough and, should we visit Stuttgart again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here nor would I hesitate it to anybody else.
Thank you Herr Ziegler.

We stayed 1 night because of a concert (Scorpions), and picked up this guesthouse by coincidence, via internet, since everything else we checked was occupied, and the price was in between a hotel price and a private room price. I was pleasantly surprised . Great price for a service. It was 45 euros for a person in a double room, so 90 all together for a night, breakfast included. Owner has a professional - but very warm and domestic attitude. His English is good enough for what he has to say:). So is the hotel: domestic and professional at the same time.
Great location - 5-10 minutes walk to the center. Undergrounds (S-bahn stops underground) are the shortcuts, use it. You don't need a car or a tram to move around. If you go far from the center, there are a bus and a tram station beside the guesthouse.
The room was perfect: totally equipped, perfectly clean, a lot of space, mini bar, welcome snacks, more than basics in the bathroom (shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste...:). Heating is great. Non-smoking rooms, but you can open the window and smoke there. Smoking is allowed downstairs, where the bar is.
Breakfast was excellent, as would be in any classical hotel. (Cheese, ham.. to beaconed & cooked eggs.. and so on).
We had our privacy. You will get 2 keys: house & room, when you come or leave you don't pass the reception, its behind the closed doors at the first floor, together with the small bar and the cosy but domestic dining room, the rooms are at the upper floors. Gives a feeling of having your own flat.
Free internet.
We payed in cash.
Note: I would recommend (if you want to eat near the guesthouse) the small Greek restaurant "Diogenes" in Olgastrasse (street parallel to Blumenstrasse - where the guesthouse is). The food is great, prices as everywhere in Stuttgart (circa 13 euros is a huge mixed plate called Diogenes Plate for 1 person, and 25 euros the same plate for 2 persons, 10 euros is a complete meal: suvlaki & giros with French-fries, tzatziki and the salad). Its on the corner, hardly noticeable place. There is another Greek restaurant "Korfu" (hotel at the same time) couple of meters further, but skip that one, the prices are too high.
The room, as many have said, is spotless. Nice little touches were added everywhere: from toiletries to little packets of gummy bears and chocolate and a note of welcome and basic instructions... You will feel very well taken care of.
Breakfast was basic but very sufficient. Herr Ziegler prepared eggs and coffee for us too. I'm definitely coming back here again.
