Used Credit card points to book the suite with balcony. It is 100% worth getting the suite with the balcony (we were on 3rd floor, think there suites above on 4 too).
Well decorated, large room. Front desk staff were helpful and arranged dining for us at a nearby bistro.
Spotlessly clean
Exceptionally comfy beds.
Super location
In room coffee maker was excellent (from a coffee snob)
Staff had no issues with me bringing in food drink from nearby eateries.
Parking nearby at the ibis bastille (arranged separately for 11eur p/d)

The front desk staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. We had a top floor room with a balcony. The room was very clean and comfortable and the facilities provided were excellent. Housekeeping staff were friendly and very professional in their work. Breakfast at the hotel is very good value for the range of items available. As the hotel is on a pedestrian street only, generally very quiet outside, that being said the first night you could hear people shouting outside in the early hours and street cleaning machine working around 6.30am but second night very quiet

This hotel is located in the center of Grenoble, France, at the historic heart of the city. Easy access to the train and bus station by tram, and to Bastille by foot. The rooms are clean, nice and modern. Good selection of TV programs in various languages. I highly recommend this hotel.

I would sleep on a park bench before I would stay at the Best Western Grand Hotel Genoble. Simply this hotel is not safe to stay at due to the employees and management there.
The first issue I experienced was employees will come in your room for no reason. In my case they came into my room while I was showering, and I was quite disturbed to come out of the bathroom naked to find two men in the room. Supposedly these were repair men, but they seemed to be simply examining my belongings when I came out of the bathroom.
The second issue was the response of the hotel to this egregious invasion of my privacy. The lies and efforts to invalidate/minimize my displeasure with people in my room seeing me naked was horrifying. There was zero reason for anyone to be in my room. I was checking out within the next hour. There was nothing malfunctioning or broken in my room. All my belongings were out in the room. The shower is very loud in this small room. There is no way to come into the room and not hear the shower running or notice when it was turned off. My keycard was in the electrical activation switch, so I had to be in the room. And even before coming in the room- you can hear the shower running in the hallway.

But the response from customer service department was disgusting. Her repeated attempts at discounting or ignoring my questions about why anyone was in my room while I showered were deeply offensive. How someone like her ever got into a position of customer service is disturbing since she seems to not know how to relate to the hotel guests.
The response was that they offered me a $50 pittance for invading my privacy and their employees seeing me naked. This pittance was simply further insulting/hurtful and an indicator of what value the hotel manager puts to the guests.

If total disregard for your privacy is what you want - this is the place for you.

Almost hard to distinguish when almost in front. Positively that is efficiently understaffed. A different world inside. Refurbished in both rooms and lounges. Efficient, characterful, polite, good suggestion and the most propitiously located garage- by the way traffic warden admonished never to leave overnight cars out, try protected parkings-2 minutes walk from the entrance of the hotel

This is a roughly 10-15 minute walk from the train station. Check-in was quick. Advertising said sound proofed rooms but it was easy to hear loud discussions from nearby rooms. Open shower with no door is somewhat annoying as water wets bathroom floor. Standard room barely has enough room for the bed with a counter to setup a laptop. The Samsung TV uses a non-Samsung remote so no way to access the settings to change HDMI inputs if using a Roku/Firestick. If breakfast is not included in your rate, you have option of partial breakfast or full breakfast. I opted for full breakfast the first night and then stepped across the street at the grocery store and purchased fruit for the remaining few days breakfasts. Front desk staff is helpful and speaks English (for the most part). A short distance from the front entrance there is an open square where several restaurants have outside seating.

The location is top and the rooms are really good and adequate. This based on our reservation was a junior suite with balcony.
Breakfast table in the morning was super with fine selections and good stuff, The coffee on cans was thin like water! However, there was an expresso maschine for self service.
We arrived by car, and since the hotel is in a pedestrian street they offer a valet service. Very good.
The staff was very helpfull with anything, and also positive and smiling. We felt very good to stay here.
The internet could have greater power, disfunction in busy hours!

The Grand Hotel is a really charming, well located, comfortable hotel, with some of the most helpful and likeable staff. We were travelling around by train, and staying in the centre of French cities. Our stay in Grenoble was delightful, with a well appointed room, with a (tiny) balcony, and excellent breakfast. We had lots of laundry done, which was helpful if expensive, and we got some good tips for restaurants in the city centre. We slept very well, with good sound proofing and good air conditioning (it was extremely hot while we were there)

First of all, let me say the front of house are very friendly and helpful, with good English spoken if needed. The buffet breakfast was plentiful, with a good coffee machine. We were slightly disappointed with our room, it being a 4* hotel; rather drab and lacking in style, although very clean and a comfortable bed. Although we had a ‘mountain view’, it was also of unappealing buildings. One small gripe, I did ask for the shampoo and shower gel to be topped up, but it wasn’t during our two day stay. The hotel is however in a very convenient location for all parts of the city and despite being so central, there were no issues with external noise.

Loved our stay at Le Grand Hotel! The front desk was so welcoming and we loved our room (which had just been renovated). The room was not large but very standard size for France. The bathroom was bright and clean. The air conditioning worked very well which we were grateful for since it was quite warm during our visit. The hotel is in the city center and a quick 1 block walk to a tram station where you can go just about anywhere in the city (or beyond via the train station). There are also so many restaurants, retail shops, cafes, pharmacy and a grocery all nearby. It is a very short walk to the cable cars which take you up to Fort de la Bastille with sweeping views and a cool museum. If we ever venture back to Grenoble we will definitely return to Le Grand!
