I’m not sure what planet some of the previous reviewers are living on but it certainly isn’t earth. To call this hotel “adequate “ is an overstatement. Sure it’s clean (as it can be given how out dated everything is) and the staff are nice enough but that’s where adequate ends. The rooms aren’t “unpretentious “ they are simply old, tired and quite uncomfortable. Old bed, old hard mattress, old patched linen, old knocked about furniture (I think you get the picture). We were on the third floor and carrying bags up those stairs was a trial (there was never going to be a lift in a place like this). The toilet was in a cupboard like room as was the shower. There was ample application of silicone to prevent leaks! To charge 75 Euro for for a room like the one we had is close to a crime. We stayed on a Friday night and their restaurant was closed ( and so was every other eatery in walking distance that hadn’t been caned on TripAdvisor). On the plus side there is free on street parking. However the area is very seedy and I was glad we only stayed one night. We certainly wished we had gone to the Ibis!

We were driving from La Spezia in Italy to London and planned a stop in Annecy. The hotel is in a residential part of Annecy a short drive from the town centre and the lake. Free parking is available on the street right opposite the hotel. On arrival the hotel restaurant was closed but there was a excellent trendy burger bar in the vicinity. The hotel in unpretentious but adequate. Our room overlooked a children's playground but it was still quiet even on a Sunday morning. The next day we drove into the town centre and the lake- parked free because it was a sunday - luckily we were there early because the parking areas filled up quickly - we toured the pretty medieval part of the town and cruised the lake. We then visited the cathedral on a hill and drove on to our next stop which was Épernay.

Basic, clean & quite comfortable place, with the excellent value for money. The hotel was full of business people both times I've stayed there, which is also a quality sign for me, If you dont need a place right in the heart of Annecy (old town is 15-20 min walk away from the hotel), that's a nice place to stay! The room was clean, the bed quite comfortable & big. The breakfast is diversive & good. I've been here 2 times & find the place highly recomendable

The hotel is located in a mixed shops /residential area and has major roads into Annecy both at the front and close to the back of the hotel
We hired a car from the airport and used it for our trips into the old town area – it would be a lengthy walk if not using a form of transport Car parking in the centre is very reasonable compared to many Uk Cities and we never had a problem in finding suitable parking places – albeit we were slightly out of main season
The hotel consists of nearly 30 rooms -we were in room 33 on the side of the building The beds are firm and the room was very clean but basic. There is NO lift to the floors Staff are exceptionally friendly with no request too much trouble Breakfast was cold buffet only ham / meat / cheese / rolls / yoghurts but fine for what we required to start the day. Free Wi FI available
Annecy and surrounding area:
If you are able to hire a car then the whole area consists of lovely lakes / mountains and towns to visit including the Old Town area within Annecy We stayed for 7 nights and covered about 400 miles – plenty to see There are many nice areas / ‘resorts’ on Lake Annecy – we also visited Lac du Bourget / Aix Les Bains / Chambery / Albertville and Chamonix/ Mt Blanc amongst others

Parking - free and available close to Hotel Private hotel car parking costs 5 euros per night

Restaurant - We had a couple of light evening meals at the hotel - food was excellent

We spent one night in Annecy and chose this hotel per the reviews here and the apparently reasonable cost. We had no particular complaints, and the hotel was clean and the staff pleasant. Still, I am glad we spent only one night here as more than one night probably would be too many. The room was quite small and reminded me of a college dorm room. Our window faced onto a parking lot, and around 11:00 PM a group of teenagers pulled in and started blasting music and talking/laughing. Thankfully, someone must have told them to leave, because this lasted only about 10 minutes, but I was starting to worry.

The major problem with the hotel is that it is a rather long walk, more than a mile, to the old part of the town and the lake. The immediate neighborhood is fine but charmless -- really, you visit Annecy for the lake and the charming historic district, so it makes sense to stay within easy walking distance of those attractions. I was under the mistaken impression that this hotel was, in fact, located close to these sites. It is not. One positive to the neighborhood, however, is that there is a fantastic bakery/pastry shop just a few blocks down the main street (Avenue de Geneve), on the right as you head toward the lake. We stopped one morning and bought WARM croissants (the first time, I believe, in all my travels to France that I have been lucky enough to get a croissant still warm from the oven) and a few pastries characteristic of the region. They were fresh and incredibly delicious. Should you stay at this hotel, I definitely suggest you visit this bakery, which also has tables and chairs inside so you can eat there and not just take your baked goods to go.

All in all this hotel was adequate but located in a not-so-convenient location with cramped rooms.
