Excellent small hotel. Staff were all very welcoming, kind and helpful. There is a small roof terrace to enjoy. The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. Lots of choice and the coffee delicious. The road was busy but the double glazing the air conditioning worked well.

We stayed in the hotel for a week and from the beginning we were impressed by how friendly the staff is. For me personally, the most important thing is to see the smiling faces of the staff than other material things.
The location is perfect, we could park our car in the garage about 7 min walking from the hotel. Its normal that most of the hotel in Nice do not have own parking, we were not surprised and it was not a disadvantage for us. If you want a hotel with parking, then you will get probably some extremely expensive one.
Our room was very nice and comfortable, the hotel is super clean. Breakfast was very tasty and there was always enough space for guests to find a table.
It was great to see young people there, always very friendly and smiling.
I would definitely recommend Hotel Byakko to everyone who wants to have a pleasant stay in Nice. We will surely come back again!

P.S. Fibi "says" hello to Leonardo from the reception desk :)

We were very happy with Hotel Byakko. We had booked for five nights and were thrilled to be given an upgrade to a junior suite. Beds were super comfy. Rooms very clean. The shower was tiny, so kept bumping the tap off!! Not a big deal though.

Air conditioning provided relief from August humidity but could open full length windows to experience fresh air.

Breakfast was good value, and they accommodated my gluten intolerance with GF free bread and madelines. Plenty of fruit, cheese, sliced meats and salads also.

Sunscreen and insect repellant in foyer were a bonus. Lots of food places and small supermarkets nearby.

Leisurely walk to beach, esplanade, old town and port. Very close and easy walk from Nice-ville train station, so handy for day trips to nearby villages as well as Cannes, Monaco and Grasse. Close to shopping if you’re into that on holiday.

I stayed at the Hotel Byakko for 2 night stay in Nice and as know the city it a good balance in location, easy to get to and in walking distance of all the main sights. Booking process was simple and very competitive and the hotel kept to date prior to my stay. On arrival what stood and certainly justifies the 5* was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, they made me very welcome, outstanding. I was given a double room although I had booked a single which had a contemporary feel, equipped with coffee/tea making facilities, air-con, safe, flat screen TV and a very comfortable bed. There was a small en-suite with a shower which did the job and the room allowed for a enjoyable stay. Breakfast was varied with good quality items and certainly set you up for the day. I really liked this hotel and will not hesitate staying there again in the not too distance.

Good and bad at this hotel. Some of the reception staff were friendly and helpful but one in particular was very offhand. The main problem was the lack of cleanliness in the shower room. Black mould on the walls. Hair in the corners. Cleaning must have been badly neglected for a long time. I managed to clean some of the mould with just water. It should have been a quick job to do it properly. There’s a limit to what can be expected in a 3 star hotel but dirt like this is inexcusable. Management clearly don’t check the rooms. Bed by linen was badly stained. If staying here, look under the sheet! No main light in the room, although there was a switch. All in all, a very tired, shabby room. Management needs to spend some money to make this a decent room. But also, cleaning isn’t expensive. As well as this, if on the lower floors, don’t expect peace and quiet at any time. We were woken one morning at 5am by crashing and banging of plates and cutlery as the breakfast room was being set up. Banging doors, shouting, and generally no consideration for guests. Needless to say, we won’t be back. Recommend think very carefully before booking at Byakko. Also recommend the general manager does a personal inspection of all rooms, shower rooms, and bed linen including mattress protectors. Shame.

Breakfast offered a selection of varieties and again, very friendly staff.

Check out was swift and bags can be stored for collection later in the day.

We had a wonderful 3night stay at the Hotel Byakko, for our visit to Nice to celebrate our 50 wedding anniversary and my 70 birthday. We booked it with flights through Jet2 city break holidays. The 24/7 hotel reception staff are so good, professional, friendly, multi-lingual kind, thoughtful and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel location in central Nice is in a quiet side street, just off the main tree lined shopping street with brilliant access to trams, buses, trains and for the airport. The hotel is only a short walk on the flat to the promenade, parks and the sea. We felt very safe wandering around the area, including in the evening to local restaurants and cafes. The Hotel Byakko food is fabulous, an amazing choice, plentiful, quickly replenished by the lovely staff with fresh and good quality cold buffet food with hot and cold drinks. Housekeeping staff are lovely and are thorough in the cleaning of bedrooms and public areas inc the roof terrace. Highly recommend this hotel and during our stay saw all ages and nationalities staying there.

First room was 102, next to the toilet in the hallway, windows open to some roof, although it was 1st floor, little sunlight, and you can hear all the guests from the stairwell and next to the room was some staff room, which was constantly in use and the door was so noisy . The next day I asked to change room, staff was very nice and helpful, in fact I got new room 01 with a French balcony, but floor -1, almost in the basement, balcony opens into a small courtyard, where everything is happening since 6 in the morning , also any staff room opposite was so noisy that you could not sleep and also no sunlight. There is still no soap in the shower. Breakfast was very good and was always refilled and had enough space for everyone and was very tasty. Wifi is catastrophic, thank god I had mobile internet, actually WIFi was crucial for me when I read good rating in Booking.com, that's why I chose the hotel.

Stayed there for 3 nights to use as a base to explore Nice, Monaco, Eze and Menton.

Location - about 550 m away from Nice-Villa station and 350 m from the tram. Going to Eze, Monaco and Menton is easy. Very walkable to the main shopping street. The Old Town is just 4 tram stops away and Place Massena is just 2 stops away. But the best restaurants are not in that area.

The single room was comfortable but amenities are limited. My room was not facing the main road so there was no issue with noise. The size is fine.

The breakfast was good and most importantly, Hotel Bakkyo has a team of very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel even provided advice and recommendations via even before I checked in. They even offered me a glass of champagne as I checked in on Mew Year’s Eve.

I will definitely return to stay in Bakko if I visit Nice again. Thank you Bakko.

It is nice and clean hotel. The staff are nice and helpful. Only one minus point is that there is kettle in the room but they don't provide enough tea bags and charges the cup daily basis. I am a ecology person if you could provide small recycling bin that would be good.
