I wanted to spoiled myself so a bit of last minute adventure to cote d'azur from South west uk:
The receptionists, breakfast ladies, concierges , Lucas ( despite hurting his arm , he still being fabulous) and Christophe, Nathalie, the Italian gentlemen and ladies at the bar, all were welcoming, professional and 5 * customer service.
My room was spotless, shame I had the one facing the road and building.
The high price represents the high quality of service and little touches in the room that stood out of the other chain hotel ( Travelodge, premier Inn, holiday Inn) .
There's a bus numéro 6 , nearby taking you to the town centre, train station and Vallauris
Although t was heavy rain the whole time I was there, it was so peaceful watching and listening to the rain , little things we forget to do in nowadays sometimes.
I had virgin mojito and mojito, evening meal and absolutely yummy.
Someone was playing piano in the evening, at the bar/restaurant, very lovely.
Thank you to all the staff, stay awesome and kind . thumbs up guys!!!

Antibes and the Riviera is known for eye watering prices for accommodation and food/drink. Clearly not cheap, but in the luxury end of the scale this was great value. The BR is a quirky Art Deco hotel with so much character and history. Service is excellent, location could not be better and a day at the beach club or lunch at the restaurant is hard to beat. Not many better places for breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea! The only downside is that despite receiving an upgrade, the rooms are a bit small and our bathroom was not only very small, but really disappointing. At this price point, you expect a separate shower (not having to stand in a small bath!) and something better than a 1980's hairdryer fixed to the wall - so rubbish it would not blow out a candle! - something the hotel should think about. Overall we would come back again, just for the view, food, service and overall character of the place - but please improve your bathrooms!

Dear Guest, first of all we would like to thank you for your visit as well as for your review. We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your time with us. Your words are very important to us ane we really appreciate them. It is true that Belles Rives is a historical property and sometimes it is difficult to combine modern facilities with these "Grandes Dames". Rest assured anyway that we are upgrading our rooms and bathrooms and, in the newest ones, there are true modern hair driers! :-) We look forward to welcoming you back whenever your travel plans will lead you to the South of France. Sunny greetings from the Cap d'Antibes, The Management

We have stayed at Belles Rives every summer for several years. We can’t wait to go back every year! The hotel is beautiful with a gorgeous view of the sea! We usually select a sea view room which never disappoints but have stayed in others with lovely views. The beds are comfortable and the decor charming.
The staff are always warm and welcoming from arrival to check in , beach and restaurants .
The concierge is always helpful to make restaurant reservations, beach chair reservations and car services.
We love the restaurant La Passagère with interesting local fish, cheese and wine.
My favorite part of Belles Rives, in addition to the staff( now I feel friends) is sitting on the jetty , swimming in the sea and watching the people water ski !
Belles Rives is a must stay! It’s a special place with many special people .

On 5 June I booked a three night stay at the Belles Rives for this coming November. I received confirmation from the hotel and was debited a 50% deposit. On 31 July, I discovered, purely by chance, that the hotel will be closed for the dates of our booking. I received no warning from the Belles Rives. On 31 July, when I discovered the closure, they still took bookings until 1 November. Now the season has been shortened to 26 October.
I immediately wrote to the hotel but did not get a reply until two weeks later!
We have booked airfare to Nice because we had relied on our confirmation and would not have otherwise gone to the Côte d'Azur at that particular time.
The hotel has made no apology, no gesture, no attempt at conciliation, nor offered compensation for this great inconvenience and disappointment and the fact that we booked airline tickets because we relied on their confirmation. After many emails back and forth in the course of an additional two weeks, the Belles Rives has now offered to transfer our booking to a four-star hotel in Nice. Not quite the same thing as the five-star Belles Rives or its location in Juan-les-Pins. To make matters worse, the room category we are being offered as a solution is one that faces a cliff wall two meters away. I am definitely not satisfied with this "solution." A month after our first email, we still don't have a satisfactory solution.
We have previously stayed at the Belle Rives' sister hotel, the Hotel Juana, which has the same owners. We liked the breakfasts, staff, and service and were expecting a similar relaxing experience or better. We did not expect to be treated this way by a five-star hotel! So be prepared for unpleasant surprises if you book this hotel!

Dear Guest, first of all we would like to thank you for your interest towards the Belles Rives as well as for your review. It is true that you wrote a review without staying in Belles Rives and we are sorry to read your words as they do not reflect the situtation in the right way. Belles Rives is usually closed on January and Februrary. This year some major works are planned during the winter and these works will require a longer closure time. As soos as we realized we would be closed in November and December we have informed all the guests that had already made some reservations for the Autumn months, trying to find a solution. We did this with you too. Your review is actually not correct as, since you booked through The Small Luxuty Hotels, we proposed you some alternative accomodations in some other hotels of our beloved association. To be more precise: the Hotel La Perouse in Nice and the Hotel Chateau Eza. You could have this way the choice between two charming properties of the same caliber of Belles Rives. You were not satisfied with that. To be even more precise you booked the entry level room here in Belles Rives, at a very promotional rate. When we informed you about the possible move of your stay to one of these properties you asked for a guaranteed upgrade which we were unfortunately not able to confirm. You asked for a room at Le Negresco, which we found. But we also informed you that Le Negresco will have some works going on on the facade this winter. Therefore, there would not be any sea view. These words just to prove that we tried to find a solution but you were not satisfied. You have been emailing with our Director of Sales and Marketing, who is at your disposal to find a way to end this incovenience in the best possible way. Yours Sincerely, The Management

What makes this hotel : the people who work there-always smiling, happy to serve , working hard ; the views- they are incredible.; the food is also excellent here, we ate at 3 restaurants and loved absolutely everything.
On arrival me and my husband were really seduced by the vibe of the hotel- having dinner on the terrace, listening to a pleasant quiet music surrounded by respectable well dressed people.
Unfortunately, this vibe is only in the morning for breakfast and late in the evening for dinner. During the day there is a different story…the hotel allows anyone from the street on their very small beach as long as they pay for the sun loungers. We encountered quite unpleasant local people with lots of small badly behaved kids who came for the day and quite frankly didn’t give a damn. There are also salesmen with sunglasses and other cheap rubbish who come and bother guests. Not something I would expect from an upmarket hotel with a private beach.
Unfortunately we also encountered a wedding during our stay. This meant that the bar area was completely closed off for the part of the evening ( it is quite small) and the guests were shuffled to one corner and had to put up with a party atmosphere for the rest of the night. There was no fashioned vibe that evening in the hotel.
The beach bar closes at 5.30pm (!) , exactly when we wanted to sit on the beach and have a drink. Not for the convenience of the guests, clearly.
Upon our departure we also noticed a strange” boat trip” added to the bill worth over €1000. Surely if someone had a boat trip they would have had to sign for it , not just give a room number? The receptionist did not bother to check any records and just removed it from the bill . This was not a mistake I would expect from an upmarket hotel.

The hotel claims to be five stars. Beautiful photos on the website and booking don't quite match reality. In fact, it's three stars. 1. The service on the terrace - waited 20 minutes for the waiter, asked to bring matches no one brought, eventually had to go to the reception. But the bill comes in very quickly. 2. On the pier in the hour we spent there, no one came near the waiters. But when we left, we asked if we had paid the bill. 3. In the room are paid capsules in the coffee machine! Well, that's level 3* of the hotel. 4. Breakfast. The only time they'll take it off the table is when you come over and ask. The Swedish line is very scarce. If you want an omelette or eggs, pay. At the same time, the room rate is 1500 euros/night. The hotel itself speculates on its name and history, without making renovations or following the service at all. When checking out, they wanted to take money for breakfast, which was included in the price. On the plus side is the beautiful view from the sea view room.
In summary - our money is absolutely not worth it, let's not stop anymore.

We booked a “superior sea view” room, which turned out to be tiny! The bed was short (even my wife at 5ft 6ins had problems with her feet over the edge) and we had to get them to take out two chairs so we could move around the room. The bathroom was so small that two people could not squeeze past each other and the shower (in the bath) did not stay up and leaked onto the bathroom floor.

We spent a day on their “beach” and were charged €6 per beach towel (this was the only hotel on our trip to charge for beach towels) on top of €70 for two beach beds.

It is a special hotel but seems to be relying on past reputation to attract guests.

Dear Guest, first of all we would like to thank you for your recent stay as well as for your review. We really like hearing from our guests as their comments are very important to us. We are sorry to hear that your stay was not up to your expectations. It is sure that our rooms, due to the age of the building, are not very spacious and that our superior rooms, either sea view or not, are the entry level ones. And also we try to specify and make clear that our beach services are not included in our hotel rates a little bit everywhere. Finally, let us say that we strive to keep Belles Rives at the highest hospitality standards despite our history and reputation. We look forward to welcoming you back. Yours Sincerely, The Management

Hotel not worthy of four stars! Underground bathrooms! Wobbly toilet bowls! Bathrooms under water after showering! Only the most basic cleaning utensils. TV from prehistoric times. Balcony overlooking the sea tiny with no chair. Water only on the first day. Minibar super light, prices only via QR code. No hotel shoes or rugs for going to bed in the evening. Breakfast OK. Everything you need on the beach costs extra, even a towel at 8 euros is a joke for a room price that high. 10 hours of parking on the street costs 50 euros. Beautiful sunset in the evening.

A magnificent experience for this first night at Les Belles Rives! The welcome of the whole team was particularly pleasant and professional! We enjoyed a dinner at La Passagère which was excellent with a very nice wine association proposed by sommelier Aymerick (Italian white then Corsican red). We also recommend this beautiful room with sea view, on the 3rd floor facing the pontoon! Beautiful colors in the late evening!

Fitzgerald wrote part of the Great Gatsby here as well as the Tender is the night. Here he and his family managed to be happy which did not always come easy. This Riviera hotel keeps everything perfect, the food is of the best quality and the beach ponton so beautiful to just relax at. Lunches here at the ponton right by the turquoise water is my annual treat!! Don’t miss the fantastic pastries by one of France’s master pastry chefs. The one Michelin star restaurant on the beautiful terrace has come to great levels the past two years and combines refined food with a lovely setting. Sun downs here are the perfect back drop. The staff is just the best, always remembering your name and who you are. Sister hotel Juana is close and a great five star alternative if you cannot afford the high room rates, still including you in the atmosphere.

This is not normal in my experience. The only failure (in an impeccable service) was when the bar was booked for a function and hotel guests took 2nd place. Not good but not a problem if guests are happy to eat elsewhere on that occasion. Otherwise, service was very good.

Hi, there is a fantastic laundry & dry cleaning business in the town 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Cannot think the name of the road but come straight up from the sea where the little train cabin is, cross the road, walk up past the Bank and turn left at next road it's then the second shop on the right. I've not heard about the cottage, sorry. There is also a do it yourself laundrette but that's further away from the hotel
