Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

First the positives: a very good, if small, shower. My room, a triple, was a good size with hardwood flooring. bedlinen was spotless, towels lsrge and fluffy, location excellent and off the main thoroughfare. The negatives: as others have said, poor soundproofing, hall carpet is stained, toilet is tiny, no wardrobe just a hanging rail. But does any of that really matter? I found the hotel clean and safe. Yes, I'd stay here again.

As yearly visitors to Lille around this time of year for the Christmas market and shopping, this time we found it very difficult to find an affordable place to stay that wasn't either miles away from the centre or wasn't room only (no breakfast). When we spotted this place with it's marvellous location (A stone's throw away from Lille Flandres station/ the main shopping mall) we booked without hesitation. We expected it to be basic. After a horrendously delayed Eurostar trip, we arrived at reception 3 hours later than scheduled just in time for the football. We walked into the bright reception area, was greeted by a friendly member of staff who gave us the key and we took the lift up to our room on the 4th floor. So far so good. Opened the door to the room popped our cases down and switched on the tv - Modern wall mounted set with a great picture. Two beds in the room one double, one single, a desk and chair small alcove with a couple of shelves for clothing and hanging rail with a few hangers, there was plenty of lighting, the room was lovely and warm thanks to a very efficient heater - Then there was the "bathroom"! I opened the door to what I thought was a cupboard to find a toilet, sink, and a very basic shower (which was a slightly recessed dip in the floor for drainage and a pull across curtain). There was a cigarette paper's gap between them all. It reminded me a lot of the sort of facility you mind find in a small caravan, or on a boating holiday, there was a slight step to get into this room and if anyone knows what I mean, you did get that weird sense of vertigo you get with this sort of cabin! Unfortunately, there was also a fairly mild aroma of drains, I sprayed some perfume around which kept it at bay somewhat, however, this smell did intensify as the stay progressed (only stayed 2 nights thankfully) and by the second morning, the smell had worked its way into the main room. Breakfast was extremely basic, coffee machine (lovely coffee though), orange juice, yoghurts, bread, brioche, baguettes and sachets of jam, no plates, so you had to eat straight from a tray which I wasn't that keen on, there was a couple of dispensers of cereal (no bowls?!) Ok I guess I could've found someone to ask but it was only corn flakes, and cheap looking choco flakes, so I didn't bother but it was something to set you up for a couple of hours. Would've liked to have seen some fresh fruit and some croissants, but never mind. There was no tea/coffee facilities in the room which was a bit disappointing too. In all, the hotel's in a convenient location, the beds are comfy and the room is warm - but the bathroom facilities were absolutely awful and because of that, I most certainly wouldn't consider staying there again.

The worst hotel ever. This should not be in booking at all. The receptionist gave us a room where we could hear all the toilet flush from all the other rooms. I have a kid with 7 years and we didn’t sleep well. This staff member has no empathy. fortunately was only one night. -100

The location was excellent, near the station. The toilet and bathroom was very small. The window was just in front of the wall. The room was a bit hot at night. Thank you for letting us the microwave.

The place was quite low-key, a few steps from Gare Lille Flandres (which was the reason I picked it in first place). The hotel is not the newest one, and the interiors are tired. The staff spoke English, I was checked in no problem and was given advice around town. What surprised me is that the room was much less tired than corridors. The worst part was the tiny shower, which was fit so snugly into the bathroom that I think if I were a few kilos heavier, I might not have made it. The bedroom was actually comfortable and I had a very nice sleep. The soundproof was not the best though. The breakfast was included into the price and it was alright (well, ibis Budget in Krakow fared better in this aspect, but the Premiere Classe Lille Centre's breakfast it was ok to survive till lunchtime). I do not recommend this place for the people with mobility issues.

The personnel was very helpful. The breakfast was OK. The room needs to be renovated, but you get what you pay for. The hotel is located in the city center, just a few steps from the main square. It's only 10 min walk from the bus station.

Good deal for the service location and service received. The rooms are not big but the cover the essential needs for a decent stay and the center of Lille. Wakable distance to the train stations and old town

While the property is conviently situated close to the centre and train station it is situated in a particularly unpleasant street frequented most of the day and evening by groups of youths. On entering the hotel there was a strong smell of damp that was present throughout the hotel including the room. The room was basic, the bathroom tiny, you couldn't shut the door when seated on the toilet. There was no wardrobe, just two small crates hanging on the wall, fortunately I had no clothes in need on hanging. Having stayed in French hotels previously I brought my own travel kettle and coffee as like most French hotels, there seems to be no facilities for tea or coffee. The Wifi would not connect at all during my stay. I used the free Wifi at Flandres Station when I was out. I paid very little for the room so accept all of the above. According to the price list at the property they charge 88 euros per night which is certainly overpriced.

Our stay was not premiere class but just for a one night with a cheap price, the hotel is okay. Location is ideal and very easy to find. If you are looking for a quiet stay, I do not recommend this hotel for you. In the end the hotel offers you the breakfast and basic facilities. The staff is multilingual and very helpful. I think this would be ideal for one night stays and backpackers, like we were.

Great location, unfortunately the hotel is very poor standard filthy carpets throughout, stench of blocked toilets permeates the whole property. Rooms although clean are very tired and again blocked drain, shower tray filled up to almost overflowing.
