Even though the name "B & B" would make you think breakfast is included, it is an extra 8.50 euro a person. The rooms are clean and the location is good. A room code gets you into your room, so there are no keys to worry about. Breakfast was good. Close to the battlefields. Parking lot outside is easily accessible.

Hotel staffed only at precise time (I am not used to) but either. The only positive was the very helpful receptionist as we arrived in the right niche. Otherwise a horde of German cyclists invaded the hotel that day. Loud, ill-mannered... certainly it's not the hotel's fault but the alarm clock at 5:30 with luggage slamming and laughing or other it's not really what you expect as an alarm clock... l isolation phoenique is clearly to be reviewed. With the rating of 3 I am generous at 91€ per night (via our agency) we can clearly expect better in Verdun

The hotel is a very good option for exploring the area. The staff is friendly, the hotel is clean and quiet. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The parking lot is very large and the location of the hotel is very convenient. I would come again.

I don’t like writing a negative review, but I would not stay here again. First, we prepaid for our reservations through a third party site (linked from trip advisor), and we prepaid for breakfast. We received confirmation for the reservations a day before, but they only had one reservation when we arrived. We had to pay for an additional room, and although it has been a few days, we haven’t received a refund for the prepaid reservation the hotel would not honor. The hotel also didn’t recognize the prepaid breakfast and required us to pay again. Second, the rooms are extremely bare bones— equivalent to a very basic hotel in the US. One of our rooms was clean, but the other had hair in the shower and did not feel well cleaned. Given all of this, I wouldn’t risk staying here.

The hotel itself is very basic and in line with what I'd expect given the pricepoint, although the breakfast is way over-priced for its COVID version (six euro for a half-frozen croissant and some yogurt? hmm) and there was a lot of black mold on the ceiling in the shower that looked like they'd tried to paint over to hide. But then I got home and it turned out they charged me twice for my booking! I emailed the hotel twice and got no response; I tried calling and was hung up on when I stated why I was calling. Didn't even have the guts to try to pretend they were trying to fix the issue! I have now appealed to customer service with B&B Hotels in France. Regardless of the result there, I can hardly recommend this place, as at best now it'll be that they overcharged me and then tried to ignore me in the hopes I'd give up and accept them filching €130 from me.

Response from B&B Verdun, Propriétaire at B&B HOTEL Verdun
Responded 6 Oct 2020
Bien cordialement Didier

Very basic room which had smokers in before and was not aired or cleaned (ash still on night table.) Room had no blinds which meant full light at 5am. Breakfast basic: bread a bit hard. Location ok and parking good. Service nice.

Reservation on the internet, but the site presents photos which do not reflect the rooms. Already I didn't see it noted that the hotel was without an elevator. We were put on the 3rd floor without any other offer. It wasn't hot yet, but the air conditioning is imperative (it is there) for this floor and noisy. The reception was closed when we arrived, of course, but the partnerships with nearby restaurants were not noted, a shame for 1 evening. Smell in the sewer chamber? no shelf to put toiletries.
Positive point breakfast, very complete, very good.

The size of the room was good.
Breakfast was okay (not served as a buffet because of Covid-19 but that's fine).
Center of town is in a walkable distance (25 minutes).
We had two towels for two people. One of the towels was dirty so we asked for it to be changed. Either the receptionist didn't understand me or he forgot but when we came back later that evening it wasn't changed and there was nobody to ask for a new one because reception was closed.
There is no lift.
The toilet should have been cleaner.
The bed was very hard.

Superb setting, very welcoming, beautiful room and well appointed, I had a good time. The bedding is also super clean, which is reassuring in terms of hygiene. Very professional, I have nothing to say except that it was really top notch! I will come back !

Basic but clean hotel. Separate way of checking in if reception is not staffed. No elevator available. Doubt whether hotel is safe in case of emergencies if you have your room at the end of the corridor on the 3rd floor like us. Good bathroom.
Breakfast was fine.
