The Idol Hotel is a place unlike any other. More than a hotel, the Idol is a sensorial experience that implies your different senses, the sight as much as the touch and the hearing. It provides the emotion of a design hotel but with something else: sound and groove. Composed by Yann Gasparini, jazz, soul and funk music lover and painted by Julie Gauthron, the funkiest decorator in Parisian hotel industry, the Idol Hotel is a joyful hymn to Black Music from the 60's to the 80's. Located in the 8th district of Paris, neighborhood appreciated by the music lovers, near the national Academy of Paris and the Opera Garnier, this boutique hotel offers a musical and original design experience, allied to a comfort and high-end services

Detailed Reviews
This hotel surpassed all of our expectations about a hotel in Paris. The staff are amazing and start you’re trip off right by checking in about any special requests or information that may help you before you even travel .. down to a big smile all hours of the day when you walk in.
The room decor is fun and certainly makes a welcome change from a typical hotel room! The beds and pillows are just so comfy ..the rooms so quiet as well .. you can definately oversleep in this place if you leave your curtains fully closed..
Even the breakfast runs til 11.00 so no mad rush in the morning if you want to pace your day out
For us the location was exactly what we wanted .. excellent connections and easy access to a number of metro lines and the main station RER lines to take you all over Paris within 10-20 minutes ( walk to each station around 5-10 mins) dependent on which one you want to use. But for those more adventurous or wanting to see the city by foot you can easily access the main sites by walking to most of them as well
Had the best weekend made even better by this gorgeous little hotel.. loved coming back to our room every evening to relax ...

We couldn't be happier :) Indeed our hotel is very particular but that's our appeal ;) Our rooms are very comfy so you can relax after a long day of walking into the parisian streets. Indeed our location is perfect for metro people and people who like to walk ;) We are closed to some touristy areas which is very convenient ! Finally, all the staff members thank you for your kind words towards them, it's been a pleasure to welcome you ! Musically yours, Mélodie - Front desk team

A friendly hotel with clean, comfortable rooms, excellent housekeeping and very personable staff.
The breakfast selection is not huge but is certainly adequate for a continental breakfast at a boutique hotel; everything we sampled was delicious and fresh, and we particularly recommend the pastries and juices. There is a free nespresso machine in the room and also a free drinks machine in reception that does coffees, hot chocolate and a nice selection of teas. We made good use of this and recommend taking a hot drink out into the peaceful courtyard.
The room itself was of a good size, and we felt very fairly priced compared to other hotels we had seen in similar locations. We were amazed at how quiet the hotel and surrounding streets were at night.
The location is also very good. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes within a short walk of the hotel, and Montmartre is around 30 minutes away on foot. There are several metro stations nearby, as well as Gare Saint Lazare, and all of the main tourist attractions can be reached on foot / by public transport within 30 minutes. We always felt safe around the hotel, including late at night.

Dear Alice, We thank you for having taken the time to share your experience at the Idol Hôtel :) We are more than glad to see how much you enjoyed your stay with us ! As you said, our breakfast is not huge as our lobby doesn't offer many space, but we do our best to offer fresh quality products witha wide range of options, so everybody can find what they are looking for in a breakfast :) Indeed the coffee machine in the Lobby is very nice after a long walk in the parisian street ! Indeed, we are not far from some touristy sights as Montmartre, Triumph arc and Opera Garnier, and if you need to get to Le Louvre Museum or the Latin Quarter there are many metro lines close to the hotel ;) All the staff members thank you for your kind words towards them, we hope to welcome you back for another groovy stay ! Booked a 3 night stay here as a birthday surprise for my partner. We did Disneyland the first day so didnt arrive for check in until after 10pm. There was no issues with this and check in was smooth and quick. I loved the vibe of this little boutique hotel from the minute we arrived and was super impressed with the room. Clean and quite spacious compared to the size of hotel rooms in Paris. I contacted the hotel prior to our stay and asked if they could offer some balloons in the room, they said for an extra €10 they could provide balloons and some chocolates which I thought was a bargain! The room was clean and spacious in comparison to other size hotel rooms in Paris. The room is stocked with a chargeable mini bar fridge, safe, hair dryer, shower gel and a small bottle of shampoo. There is also a complimentary coffee pod machine in the room which is re stocked daily and a bean to cup coffee machine located in the reception for guests to use.
The hotel is located in a nice area with lots of local bars/cafe’s nearby. We spent our mornings in a cafe called Le Dome which is around a 7 minute walk away. There is also a small supermarket located across the road from the hotel which is really convenient. I will definitely be staying at this hotel again when we return for our next trip to paris. Could not have asked for anything more.

Agatha and Melodie, the extremely helpful and friendly employees, made our stay exceptional. Both ladies answered all our questions, had great suggestions for shopping, dining transportation etc. They both speak and understand English very well and that is greatly appreciated. The award for best employee under pressure must go to Melodie and here's why... the night before we left Paris we could not open our room safe to get our passports. I went downstairs to the desk and told the gentleman that was working that we needed help to open our safe because we needed our passports we were leaving first thing in the morning at about 8. He said he couldn't help us it was a girl in the morning that had "the key" to open our room safe. I took him at his word and at 7 in the morning I went down to the desk and ask him when the girl would be in so that we could get our passports and immediately get a taxi to the airport he said she would be in at 7:30. I sat and waited in the lounge area. At exactly 7:23 Melodie came into work and at 7:23 the man working the night shift sprinted out of the door. I explained to Melodie what I needed. She immediately started looking for any other employee because the need 2 people to open a guests safe, one to stay at the desk and another to open the safe. Since the nigh guy (Ranain) had run out of the door even though he knew I needed my safe opened Melodie was all alone. She looked for the housekeeping staff but they weren't in yet so she asked if she could take my safe down to the desk so she could do both jobs, which she did. We got our passport she call us a taxi for the airport and all was well! Thank you Melodie!!

Excellent hotel with really funky and groovy design, great staff and a good location. The room was a bit smaller than I expected but the decor more than made up for this. Everyrhint from the colour scheme to the lighting was different - groovy is the best word for it. There were still covid restrictions in place when we visited and breakfast was available in the dining room, in the courtyard or they would take it to your room.

Dear Brian D, We thank you for having taken the time to share your experience at Idol Hotel. We are more than thrilled to see you enjoyed your stay as much as we enjoyed welcoming you :) Indeed the rooms might appear "small" when you are not used to it but most of the parisian hotels in old haussmannian buildings have small rooms, therefore we really tried to make the room funky and groovy so you can enjoy your room after a long day of walk into the parisian streets. We are very glad that you appreciated it ! Regarding the breakfasts, as you mentioned there were still restrictions during the dates of your reservation so we tried to offset this inconvenience. We hope to see you soon for another groovy stay ! Musically yours, Mélodie - Front Office Manager

My wife and I stayed at the Idol Hotel during the Olympics and we were really pleased with the service and the quality of the stay at the hotel! Our room was quite large, clean, and it was quiet! The music motif throughout the hotel was a pretty cool decorative touch. The hotel let me drop our bags off the morning of our stay before we checked in and after an extremely long and exhausting day, we found our bags already in the room when we returned late that night -- what a pleasant surprise as I expected to have to lug the bags upstairs that night. The elevator was a huge benefit, however, it is too small to accommodate a full wheelchair with a seated guest (we had to collapse ours) -- so that could be an issue for anyone needing full accessibility. The only other issue we had was the breakfast layout. We didn't purchase breakfast but thought some light pastries and juices that were out in the lobby were for all guests -- they were not. There should be signage that those items are only included with paid breakfast and not for every guest.
The location of the hotel is conveniently located nearby the Saint-Lazare train station and Metro stop, which is one of a few fully accessible (from street to train) stations in Paris. There is a nice little pizza shop around the corner along with a few restaurants.
Overall we would definitely stay here again if we return to Paris!

Dear Mario P, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re delighted to hear that you and your wife enjoyed your stay during the Olympics and that you were pleased with the service and the quality of your room. We’re glad you appreciated the music-themed decor and the convenience of having your bags in your room upon your return. Regarding the elevator, we understand that it may have been inconvenient for your wheelchair. Unfortunately, the room you booked was not our accessible room, which is designed specifically for guests with reduced mobility. This room is located on the ground floor to provide easy access and is fully equipped for wheelchair users. As we were not informed in advance that you would require wheelchair accessibility, we were unable to allocate the appropriate room. We encourage guests to inform us of any specific needs at the time of booking so we can ensure the most comfortable stay possible. As for breakfast, we apologize for any confusion. The breakfast layout is designed to be straightforward, with all items available in one central location. The pastries and juices you mentioned are part of our paid breakfast service, which was communicated during the check-in process as being available for €17 per person. We appreciate your suggestion for additional signage and will consider this to help avoid any future misunderstandings. Thank you again for your feedback, and we’re thrilled to hear that you would choose to stay with us again on your next visit to Paris. We look forward to welcoming you back! Musically yours, Mélodie Front Office Manager

Room was as pictured, reception staff were extremely helpful. There was a problem with our room - we were meant to have 2 twin beds and instead had a double but within alerting staff they changed it and apologised within 20 mins. The room was really clean and I liked that you got a private wardrobe each. The only issue I had was the room I originally booked had a shower in the centre of the room - no private bathroom. As I was travelling with my gran this wasn’t suitable and they wouldn’t change my room without paying for an upgrade for a private toilet and shower which I thought was a bit strange. If you were travelling in a couple this isn’t an issue but if you are travelling with family it’s something to consider. Even when I paid for the upgrade, the toilet was in a separate room from the sink which again was a bit strange. The bed however was really comfy and the location was great. Great for a couples trip, not so much family.

Dear Sophiemac21, We thank you for having taken the time to share your experience at Idol Hotel :) All the staff members thank you for your kind words towards them, we hope you enjoyed your stay as much as we enjoyed welcoming you :) Indeed the Room you originally booked (the Moon Blue room) has a see through and opening shower into the room as it is a standard room. In order to have some privacy we prefer to warn our future guests and request them to change the category of room for more privacy, indeed the Light My Fire room is a deluxe room with a private bathroom. As the category of room is not the same the rates are not the same, this is why there's an extra charge :). Regarding the toilets, they are all in a seperarte room in all our category of rooms. Some hotel rooms are like that some are not, it depends on the hotel. For families, we ususally recommend to book our suites, a communicating room or the Light My Fire rooms, for couples we usually recommend the Lady Soul room, Moon Blue room and the suites so everybody can find what they need and what they want depending on their taste and expectations. We are thrilled you found the bed comfy ! Bedding is very important to us as we know how exhausting Paris can be ;) We hope to see you again for a better experience and a more groovy stay with us ♫ Musically yours, Mélodie Front Office Manager

The hotels pictures and location speak for themself. What sets Hotel Idol aside is the attention to detail. From simple room offerings such as a boot brush to keep my suede boots clean, to little beauty products beyond just the usual toiletries. The hotel has a charm and soul befitting of its groovy decor (we loved the room numbers on the doors, check those out if you can).
To top things off though the staff were thoroughly attentive, any questions were speedily answered at the front desk, and the room was cleaned immaculately upon our return each day, ensuring a relaxing evening and sleep each time.
All in all you will struggle to find a more charming boutique hotel in Paris. Thank you for having us!

This hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood. It’s very cute, as you enter the concierge desk on the right, I saw a sign ‘Paris is groovy’ on the left there is the dining area.
Nadia who assisted us was very helpful and friendly and arriving early, she checked whether the room was available since their check in hours @4pm. But hubby and I were truly lucky to be given the room @8:30 am which we were able to rest.
The hotel is accessible to transportation, shopping, restaurants, church which is just walking distance for 20 minutes( just make sure to have good walking, comfortable shoes).
If you are a high end shopper go to Galleries Lafayette, you will enjoy your day there.
Our room was well kept clean daily, including the bathroom and toilet, there’s small fridge and safety box and A/C.

I thank you for your question and we look forward to welcomig you too !
Following your request, the Give Me The NIght Suite do not have a balcony, however it has an attic roof and a very disco decoration. As SteveB15 mentionned, we do not have any particular view, and the Suite you are in will face the Haussmannian buildings of Rue d'Edimbourg.
I remain at your disposal for any further requests,

Dear Sara L,
We have hairdryers in each rooms indeed, but the iron and iron board are one request (for free). There is a minibar in the room but only to maintain ours drinks at cool temperature. It is not a mini fridge to store food for hygienic reasons, this is not possible I'm sorry.
