We did a two night stay here for a family sight seeing trip. We were able to get a room that accommodated 2 adults and 1 teen (14). The front desk manager, Camille, was amazing! She had an email dialog with us before our stay to make sure that nothing on the reservation was lost in translation. When we arrived, she was warm and friendly, helped us out with any questions, and even takes care of drinks at the bar in the evening. The hotel was very clean, beds were comfortable with full size pillows and windows opened for fresh air. There are at least 3 metro stations (Zone 1) inside of 10 minutes walk, as well as multiple cafe's, bakeries, bars and yes even a Starbuck's within 3 minutes walk. The hotel offers a buffet breakfast with a nice courtyard when weather permits and they do serve drinks in their lobby lounge in the evening at reasonable prices for a hotel. Overall we found this place to be an excellent value and thank you again to Camille for a great experience!

My partner and I travelled to Paris for the June (UK) bank holiday weekend and stayed for 3 nights. We found the room very clean and the hotel staff friendly (there was always someone on reception to help). The room included the usual amenities: tea, coffee (ask reception for milk), shower gels and shampoo. Do note though that the water provided in the fridge is not free! We were surprised to find a bill for the water on check out but we should have checked first. The location of the hotel is fantastic - it’s less than a 5 minute walk from “Vavin” metro station and approx 30-40 minute walk from the Seine, along which you will find most of Paris’ main attractions. We enjoyed the Luxembourg Gardens the most which was less than a 10 minute walk away! There are some great restaurant/cafes/bakeries off the side streets here too. Having explored Paris, we felt we’d picked the best location by staying in Montparnasse for safety and convenience.

My reason for giving 4 stars and not 5 is I felt at €164 euros (£140) a night, the room was good for somewhere to sleep but fairly basic but it is Paris after all! Overall we enjoyed our stay here.

We have been staying at the Hotel A La Villa des Artistes for more than 10 years now, and have always had a great experience there (clean, well-stocked rooms, comfortable beds, quiet but very convenient location in the 6th, near three Metros, the RER B, the Luxembourg Gardens, Pantheon, lots of excellent places within easy walking distance for eating, drinking shopping, and seeing the beauties of Paris.

But after our last trip ... we love it EVEN MORE than before. This time a positive COVID result required a seven-day quarantine and three more days waiting for a negative antigen test. The staff could not have been more helpful ... we were able to stay an extra 10 days more than we had planned, and anything we needed was brought to the room. The staff was always, even with the uncertain duration of our stay, très sympathique! We are so grateful for their help, and recommend our favourite place unreservedly!

I think this was our 5th or 6th stay here. It’s in a beautiful, bustling location but away from the main tourist spots. It’s roughly a 30 minute walk down to the Seine or there’s a choice of a couple of nearby Metro stations depending on where you want to go. One of them (Vavin) links direct with Gare du Nord for arrival/departure by Eurostar.
We had room 106 which backs onto a courtyard and was very quiet. The room was very clean and fresh and beds very comfy. Bathroom was small but fine for us. Maybe a towel rail on the vacant wall could help to dry towels and lessen the need for replacements.
We prefer to have breakfast at nearby cafes and patisseries but it is available at the hotel.
Staff are always friendly and helpful.

"Hotel a la villa des artistes" provides comfortable, air-conditioned rooms that are quiet and private.. Although somewhat small, they are well appointed, and are good value for the cost. Staff are helpful and pleasant. The hotel is located right next to the Vavin metro stop and at least 2 major bus lines (68, 91), so most of the city is easily accessible. Breakfast is ample, but if you are interested in having it elsewhere (and cheaper), The Dome, across the intersection, is great for coffee and croissants.

I booked a family room and we arrived at 10pm on Monday 4th April. The room we were allocated was spacious, clean and well decorated. The ensuite bathroom was also good. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed comfortable beds. The hotel is down a side street away from the main area, so it was very quiet and allowed us to enjoy a good night's sleep. The location was fabulous, extremely close to Vavin Metro station allowing us easy access to all parts of the city. A good selection of shops and restaurants were on the main streets which was a 2 minute walk away. An 8 minute walk away took us to another lovely district full of bars and restaurants which were busy, but the atmosphere was good. We also tried the breakfast which offered a selection of food that kept us going until well beyond lunchtime. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again for any future holidays to Paris.

Villa des Artistes is in the Montparnasse (6th) neighborhood on a quiet side street off Boulevard du Montparnasse. A quick walk to both the Vavin (#4) and Notre Dame des Champs (#12) metro stops. Reception staff was friendly and English-speaking. Our room was a triple; with two twins pushed together as a king bed and a separate twin bed. All were comfortable. There was a large closet with full-length mirror in a separate dressing area which included a safe, fridge and microwave. Bathroom had a shower/tub combination and plenty of counter space. We heard no street noise or even closing doors in the hallway which meant four nights of restful sleep. The breakfast area included indoor and outdoor seating with hot entrees, cereals, yogurt and of course all the wonderful bread-based products that Paris has to offer. Lots of restaurants and a grocery store in the immediate area so we never had to forage far for sustenance. Would definitely stay here again.

We are a family of 4 and spent 4 nights at A la Villa des Artistes at the beginning of July. Both our rooms were much smaller than anticipated with very little room to store our luggage. The photos are deceiving. We tried to get an upgrade without success. From the first night we started to get bitten consistently by what looked like bed bugs. We alerted the staff who did take extra care with the cleaning of our rooms, with no noticeable improvement unfortunately. The Wifi was very unreliable, often cutting out out completely. On the plus side, the rooms were very quiet in spite of being in the heart of Paris during the busiest month of the year.

I was fooled by the reviews. Paid $200+ per night with the belief it would be above average. Unfortunately this recent trip has taught me that reliance on online reviews is useless.

The location is good is you want to be close to Luxembourg Gardens. However, there are a ton of hotels in this same area for significantly less cost that offer same level of basic amenities. My friend paid 1/3 the rate per night at a hotel 2 blocks away and her room was the same size, but without all the constant banging of doors and upstairs neighbors.

This place has oddly located rooms - you have to pass through the rear exit of a main floor to what appears to be the back stairs, then enter another tiny foyer with additional rooms, then into the room. All of this = many banging doors, which can be heard each time someone comes or goes.

The beds are incredibly hard, and I'm a person that sonetimes prefers to sleep on the floor, so that says a lot.

The tub backed up while showering and no cold water could be had from sink, so drinking water was tepid at best.

Between the slab of a mattress and the ongoing banging, I got very little sleep, which for me is the most important function of a hotel: providing a restful place to sleep.

The staff was nice and the room was clean.

Was not worth the price at all.

This was our first time in Paris and we were looking for a reasonable, clean, centrally located hotel that included breakfast. This hotel met all our criteria. We booked a supreme room, which wasn't huge but we're assuming that the cheaper rooms were even smaller, as space is at a premium in Paris. The breakfast was fresh and delicious everyday and included eggs/meat/fruit/pastries/fresh squeezed jiuces etc. The hotel itself was located in an area where you could take the Paris Metro to all the major sites within about 25 minutes. We saved so much time, and money by using our Google navigator and taking the trains. Very friendly day staff - all spoke some english and were very helpful. There were several lovely restaurants within a short walking distance of our hotel and a grocery store (Carrefour). We would definitely come back!
