A 6 Nations rugby weekend was enhanced by our stay at Hotel Darcet. Located in a fun filled area but is on a quiet side street the hotel offers spotless rooms with a decent amount of space and good ensuite facilities.
Free teas and coffee are available 24/7.
No breakfast, but the hotel invite you to bring in food from any of the local establishments to warm up and eat in the dining room.
Free WiFi that actually works. Metro station 2 minutes away.
All in all, an excellent and affordable base to enjoy all that Paris has to offer.

We have stayed at the Darcet for three years running - about two and a half weeks each time.

It's a marvellous hotel - good location (two minutes to Metro or twenty minutes walk to the Montmartre area), good sized rooms for a two star hotel in central Paris, wonderfully friendly and welcoming owners and clean throughout.

I have never come across before - and it's an incredible asset, a hotel which, although it doesn't provide breakfast, provides a large room with free tea and coffee where you can eat your own breakfat/lunch/evening meal (there's a patisserie for breakfast opposite and a supermarket within a minute's walk). Not only the super dining room but a kitchen with microwave, oven and fridge for guest's use. Brilliant!!

Going back for 4th year next year and wouldn't really contemplate anywhere else!! Yes, it's that good.

Hotel Darcet is not located in the main tourist attraction in Paris. In fact, it is quite far but easily accessible by public transportation (near Place de Clichy Metro Station). If you landed in Gare du Nord train station or CDG airport, you must examine in advance on how to go to Place de Clichy. There are many option. If you are or may be confused I strongly advice you to install apps G7 (taxi) and apps Bonjour RATP (mass transportation). Register yourself before departure would be easier.

Hotel Darcet is located in a nice neighbourhood. The staff were nice and helpful, and mostly can speak english quite fluent. On the ground floor they have a common space to have meal or work, and provide coffee and tea machine 24 hours for free. Can get them anytime you like. Also a computer for browsing. There is also a kitchen with facilities you can use for free. Microwave, refrigerator, utensils, etc. just make sure to clean them after use. For those who love to make their own breakfast, this facility is perfect. Not always available in many hotels.

Access to your room upstairs can be done through elevator (quite small, only fits for two persons) and stairs. The room itself is huge and good condition. Everything work properly, including heather (since it’s winter) and bathroom. No noise from outside is heard, which is also perfect.

This hotel do not have many amenities, but three items it had that were important to me, location, cleanness, and price, and Hotel Darcet hit all those items. Location is near to Metro, Moulin Rouge, Galeries Lafayett, and many cafes and restaurants. Also a bakery next door, and across the road is a large supermarket which was convenient. Getting to the main tourist points using the Metro or bus is very easy, and the staff was helpful, especially Ziane who was always at the main desk. When I checked in, we discovered I had booked for July instead of January, big mistake, fortunately Ziane was able to find me the last room for three nights, but found me another hotel for me mast night, so I was thankful. My room is very small and bare bones, but clean with white sheets etc. The shower had a door, I do not like when the shower/toilet has no separation and the entire bathroom gets wet. I was lucky to get a room with a small balcony, so was bright. The only negative issue, would be that they do not offer breakfast, there is a small room you can use to eat in if you brought in your own food, and a very small kitchen and fridge which was open to everyone, did not really like that. So the price was good for what you paid for.

Great location in Montmarte. Close to Moulin Rouge and Sacre-Coeur. Many restaurants and patisseries in close proximity. Room comfortable. Bathroom has a good hot shower and permanently installed hairdryer has a towel drying rack. Housekeeping everyday. Free tea, coffee and chocolate in the communal area. 24/7 reception enables you to come and go as you please, you need to leave your room key with reception when you leave. Our room opened on to a lovely terrace, where we enjoyed a vin rouge. Recommend this hotel.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel for a girls trip and the man who worked at the front desk was very disrespectful and extremely hostile. There was a part of the stay where we felt very unsafe and worried about our stay there.

On one night we had gone out, we returned around 9:30 pm to find the front lobby doors were closed shut with no way for us to enter. Admittedly, this was our first time in France and we did not know if this was customary or not. We panicked and began knocking on the doors repeatedly and calling out, for fear of being locked out all night. This mentioned man came and yelled at us, “I heard you the first time!” he continued to berate us was very hostile. This same man interrupted our breakfast in the patio the next morning when one of us was on the phone, and told us to hang up because “he was trying to work.” I have NEVER been to a hotel in a European or Asian country where they tell you this while you’re in a public space of the hotel. One would think that I was yelling, but no, I was speaking in a normal tone. It was such a rude and disrespectful intrusion . Less than 5 minutes later, the wifi was turned off and the call disconnected. We payed our money to use this wifi and it was purposely disconnected in spite. This man singled us out and approached us in a threatening manner that no hotel attendant should ever do to a guest. If I could, I’d get a refund for this place. I would never recommend for anyone to stay at this hotel.

My husband and I stayed here for five nights, and had a great stay. This is a modest hotel, but our room was extremely clean, quiet, and comfortable. It had several large windows, so was very bright, but also had electric window shades, so it was very dark for sleeping.

The air condizionino worked well and was easy to operate. The hotel is managed by Samir, and he or his sister were often at the reception. They were always friendly and often offered us a free bottle of water when we came in after a day of walking.

Breakfast is not offered, but there is a great pastry shop right across the street, and a kitchen with a fridge available to all guests. They also provide tea and coffee, but if you like good, strong coffee, bring your own Nespresso pods.

The hotel is very close to a metro stop and we found numerous excellent restaurants nearby. I heartily recommend the Hotel Darcet to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and safe hotel at a very economical price. The only negative point that I can think of is that some of the staff (especially the cleaning ladies) did not wear face masks, which made me a bit uncomfortable, but I just tried to stay away from them.

The real star for this hotel is its location within Bagnoilles district of Paris with its great array of restaurants and cafes, and 40 minutes walk from the Louvre. The hotel itself has small rooms and does everything well, just enough and politely. If you after a good value bargain then great. If you want any hotel amenities then not so good.

3/29/23 - 4/6/23; We stayed there 8 days and liked the convivence to the Metro, the grocery store/s were across the street as the bakery was on the corner. The restaurants were abundant. The three or four desk clerks were friendly and spoke good English. Housekeeping did a great job. Our room looked into the courtyard so the view was not great. We could open the window for fresh air and the windows had outside shades that close/opened at the push of a remote. More on the Metro, that is my first choice in a hotel along with ratings, then price. The Metro was a 5 to 8 minute walk and we traversed all over Paris but got the 5 day passes for 30 euros each (Sunday to Sunday). We got there on a Wednesday morning and purchased that pass, then another one on Sunday. You must have photos ( go to the photo booth 8 euros each person) and get the photos so the attendant can apply them to your pass. That total with out the photos came to about 75 euros for the initial setup, then 30 euros each after that. No more tickets to fumble with!!!

Good evening, from Orly airport it's better to catch a regular taxi with the sign TAXI on the rooftop of the car, the cost it's between 32 and 35 euros in total by the law. You will need a car + a van as your are 9 persons. It takes approximately 40 minutes. Thank you and have a good travel. Regards. Samire. P.S : we are open 24 hours a day.

Yes, I found it to be safe. The entrance is on a quiet side street, But just 30 feet away from a Busy main street, where you can find many restaurants, fast food places and Place De Clichy Metro. I was a solo traveller and was very conscious of the same concerns as yourself, but I walked around the main streets at night shopping, and getting around, and but was not out later than 9.00 pm, mainly because I was tired. I did not go to bars etc, but because because it is two of you I think it would be ok, just be aware of your surroundings at all times for pick pockets. This is a great location to shop, Galeries Lafayette is a 15 minute walk, and a wonderful building that has a beautiful glass dome, a must see, and many other sites. Moulin Rouge is just 8 minutes walk away, nice to see if you are interested into shows, I was not, but night time is best to see the lighted building. I also took pastry classes at a small but cute school nearby the hotel about 13 minutes walk, Les secrets gourmands de Noemie, which I really enjoyed, and even took another class two days later.

How much is it in a taxi from Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport if anyone knows? Thank you.
Answer from jackie155019
Toronto, Canada31 contributions29 helpful votes
Hi Katie, it is about 50 euro, that is a government fixed price from that airport. Do not take a taxi from inside the airport, go to the taxi stand outside the airport. I made a very bad mistake when a man asked me if I wanted a taxi, this is inside the airport, and he told me to follow him, we got to his car, it had a taxi sign on the top of the car and a meter, and my intuition bell went off, but unfortunately I ignored it , when we had driven about 15 minutes, the meter said 75 euro and I questioned it, then started a big argument and nasty verbal abuse from him, I told him to stop and when he finally did, he refused to give me luggage, after more arguments and getting no help from the local people, I took his photo, car license, and brand of car, he panicked and gave my luggage and left. This incident left me scared for two days. I was told later, he was not a real taxi driver, it is illegal to approach people from inside the airport. Just wanted you and others to learn from my mistake.
Answer from hotelDarcet p
