The Villa Royale surrounds one of the most legendary squares in Paris, Place Pigalle, the heart and soul of a district that’s both touristy and trendy. Because of the shape of the building, most of the rooms have a view on Montmartre and Sacré-Coeur.In their time, Toulouse-Lautrec and Picasso frequented the establishment. The décor takes its inspiration from the world of the theatre. Details are numerous and the rococo style is clearly evident. Deep reds, tassels and tufted velvets are omnipresent, as is the decorative gilding, which even surrounds the plasma TV screens. In the Suites, a fireplace adds to the cosy atmosphere and a whirlpool bath invites guests to let laziness take over. Another option: fall asleep below the star-studded ceiling of the de la “Michou” room, blue, of course

Detailed Reviews
Booked for first wedding anniversary as was attending moulin rouge. Location for moulin rouge is perfect. Surrounded by bars, restaurants, supermarkets and underground.
Cute decore- not at all modern but that’s what attracted us to this hotel.
Standard double room spacious enough for 2 adults, TV (with damage to screen but once we figured out how to get everything in English we managed to use) coffee machine with 3 coffee pods, 2 t bags & one bottle of water provided free of charge. Mini bar stocked but chargeable so didn’t use.
Bed was 2 singles pushed together and 2 extremely small pillows (a contribution to my rating) lighting in the room whilst in tone with the decore as a boudoir wasn’t sufficient.
Bathroom was the second let down contributing to the rating. Spa bath - wow yes please. Shower - negative. Well there was a mixer head to the taps but the water doesn’t mix so you get cold via the tap and have to sit in the cold water (as the drain is so slow) whilst burning scalp on the red hot water coming from the mixer head. No ‘hook’ to attach shower head mixer too so no choice but to sit and shower.
Staff was on site and available at all times however booking in wasn’t smooth or informative.
Would I stay again? No, the shower was a big issue having such long hair and reynaulds with a choice of freezing or boiling water to have a wash was not at all pleasant. I should add that we moved from our first room due to bath issues so this was obviously something in all rooms.
Had there been a shower my answer would be different.

A marvelous and charming hotel in a mythic neighborhood of Paris, with an amazing view on the Sacré Coeur and place of Pigalle. The rooms are authentic and cosy, furnitures are very stylish, every object has a story. One of the best luxurious hôtel in Paris, the most unique and charming for sure!

Such a beautiful place. We felt like transported into the times of Luis XIV. Super friendly staff. Fabulous interior design. Even the walls of the elevator shaft are painted . Love for detail. We will for sure be staying here again. Thank you!

This review is written part-way though our three nights' stay.
The hotel is definitely quaint with helpful, welcoming and friendly staff. Our room is very small for the cost, a little worn but the bathroom excellent and well-equipped. The main disappoitment is breakfast. Significant items ordered were missing, such as fruit salad, milk and butter, as well as no salt included. We highlighted the error and the missing items were delivered some forty five minutes later. We had the impression there is no kitchen although an instant coffee machine in use (cappuccino was eventually delivered when americano was ordered). The boiled eggs weren't cooled, leaving green-tinged yolks. With only one chair in the room, it's either take turns to eat or eat standing up or sitting on the bed.
The hotel clearly suits many travellers, but at a cost in excess of £200 per night after discount, this feels very poor value for money. Probably a voucher to use in a local restaurant with chairs and tables would be an alternative breakfast option for the hotel to offer.

The hotel is in a very noisy area--noise, yelling, etc. all night long. The windows are double glazed to block out noise, but it was so very hot in the room with the windows closed. The bathtub is difficult to get into, the hair dryer did not work. There is a small refrigerator but there was no way to plug it in. The decor needs updating.
The breakfasts are very good and the personnel is very helpful.

Beautiful room, beautiful view and amazing staff. We stayed four nights, and every single receptionist was helpful and a joy to deal with. The housekeepers do an outstanding job as well. The location itself was perfect, central and close to public transport. Would recommend.

We booked to be close to Moulin Rouge and were able to walk back after the show. The location was also great for the metro and restaurants in Montmarte. Hotel was quirky which added to the character and really clean. Not used to breakfast in room but actually worked really well as no rush and was exactly as we asked for. The staff particularly Khyri couldn't have been more helpful.
Would definitely return if visiting Paris.

Dear tanbibi16 really it is not difficult to take the RER B suburban train from Charles de Caule airport to Gare de Nord, and then walk through the tunnel at the main station following the signs to La Chapelle, and take the metro line 2 to Pigalle station which is on the big roundabout opposite the hotel at the foot of Montmatre. This is an inexpensive method and much cheaper and quicker than a taxi. finding the station at Charles de Gaule is in at terminal 2. there is a shuttle train which links all the terminals together, but the airport is enormous, and thus not terribly easy to navigate the first time you go to france, but the french will help to point you in the right direction. a taxi trip will cost about 70 euros each way. i hope this helps
Yes i don't see why not...
