The hotel is small but it offers all you need for a nice stay in Paris, especially the location, which is excellent (literally 3 mins walk from the Louvre) for visiting the main museums and central area. The room was very clean, small but enough for a single person, the shower quite big cosidering the bathroom's size, the tiny sink was almost cute and the Occitane toileteries a pleasant surprise. Bring earplugs though, because they have the thinnest walls!! definately they should work on soundproofing the rooms; the area is very quiet thus the only noises you hear come from the other rooms.I didn't have the breakfast included in my room but they offer you unlimited access to filtered water and teas/coffes. The staff is very friendly, always with a smile and checking in-out has been smooth and quick. Overall a positive experience, I'll definately come back.

Hotel Crayon is a fantastic option for solo travellers, friends or families looking to be in the heart of Paris but away from all of the crowds. The hotel is clean & comfortable and the staff was attentive & friendly throughout the course of the stay. Subtle yet thoughtful touches including l'Occtaine products can be found, as well as coffee & fruit in the lobby throughout the day, ultimately making Hotel Crayon feel like a home away from home.

On the hotel site you will find written: "More than a hotel, the Crayon Rouge is a cozy private home, the home of a Parisian artist and a passionate Hotel Owner."
This is what is most important; you will find passion, hospitality, relaxation and attention to the person.
Then you can say that everything is clean and cared for, with an original and pleasant style.
The location is central and convenient to most attractions within walking distance.
My room could not be said to have ample space but I found everything I was interested in.
If you are not interested in large hotels, highly recommendable solution!

Solo traveller staying in a one bedroom for five days, which was quiet, comfortable and cleaned daily.

It also had air conditioning which was a luxury during the summer months.

Central location within walking distance of the metro and The Louvre.

What we liked:
The comfortable bed and pillows
That we could store our luggage on arrival and departure
The L'Occitaine toiletries
The room and bathroom were clean.
The efficient air conditioning.
The location - very convenient for walking to so many Paris sights, and close to transport options.
The complimentary tea and coffee facilities in the foyer.

What we didn't like:
The small size of the room. We were in a small double and there was barely room for our two small carry-on suitcases. Even by Paris standards the room was minute.
The lighting in the room was terrible - it was like getting dressed in the dark! The bathroom had great lighting but the room itself did not. By mid afternoon on a rainy day, we had to have our phone torches on to see our clothes in the (very small) wardrobe.
The room was very tired and the bedside cabinet looked shabby with split wood and broken fixtures like the plug above it.

In conclusion, if you're only staying for two nights, like we were, the room is fine but any longer and with larger suitcases, it would not be a comfortable experience. You couldn't relax in the room other than lying on the bed, which is fine for sleeping, but not great otherwise.

I was traveling to Paris for the first time on my own and right from the moment I arrived at the Crayon Hotel, I felt extremely welcome and at home. I was greeted warmly and was even provided early access to my room which was very unexpected but appreciated. The room was tight but very comfortable and warm, with everything I needed for my stay. I valued the focus on sustainability and also having access to tea, coffee, and refillable water throughout my stay as well as the communal lounge area downstairs where I could chat with others but also do a little bit of work. The staff were incredibly helpful and the location was just perfect to get around from. There was a wide variety of great restaurants close by. Thank you to the team - I will absolutely come back next time I am in Paris.

It is an old hotel tastefully renovated a few years ago.

There is every comfort in the air-conditioned rooms, attentive staff and you can walk almost everywhere.

Big downside for the bread for breakfast: please change the baker! (but I think this is done on purpose so as not to tempt customers to take more and it works); you have to have good teeth :) We are in Paris after all so there is a choice.

I take away one star for the insulation between the rooms and/or the corridors, that is to say: non-existent.

We stayed at Hotel Crayon for 5 days in one nice room. From the first contact on, the staff was great and very supportive and everything went very fast. We were able to deposit our luggages before check-in and after check-out at no extra added cost which really reinforces the 5 starts we gave.

The breakfast was also tasty and had some option to choose from but after having the same food each morning it can get a bit boring. I wish the menu was more diversified and maybe there were vegetables too. Non the less this wasn't a major issues just a suggestion.

Our room was on the 5th floor and I couldn't be happier for the elevator we could easily use instead of the stairs. Be aware that if you are more sensitive to noises you should bring some earplugs. We could hear every movement of our neighbours - which got annoying when it happened in the middle of night when everyone was asleep.

The location is the best you can get in the city and if we ever return to Paris we'll for sure come back to Crayon!

I stayed at the Hotel Crayon for a week with my son. We had a great time exploring Paris - the location is excellent, with many things to see just a short walk from the hotel, and many restaurants, bars, cafes, and pastry shops within a few blocks. The hotel was nicely appointed, clean, with good breakfast, and helpful staff.

Hi I'm in Paris several times per month so I'm sure I can suggest you other choices even when the hotel Crayon is a good one. I guess you are not going to spend a lot of time in the room, so H.Crayon will work. It is placed in a quiet street close to the metro (5mins walking) and it's not far away from le Louvre, la Magdaleine, Opera... but there is also another good option: l'hôtel Le Pradey. It's a little more expensive but it's situation is amazing (it's a charming hotel) and the breakfast is really good. Close to the congress center there is another nice hotel "hôtel résidence imperiale" but please ask for a room at the first floor. They are new and charming. The rest are old fashioned. the line 1 of the metro is 50m far from the hotel and it's the same metro line taking you to the louvre. I can recommend you some nice places to have dinner around the hotels as well. Close to: - Hôtel Crayon: fromagerie Danard or le Comptoir de la Gastronomie (the last one was closed last week) - Hôtel Le Pradey - there is a nice Bar à Vins called L'Ecluse Saint Honoré. Good French food and wines. Or Chez Claude. - Hôtel Résidence Imperiale - Monsieur A, Restaurant De Luca, Chez Clémence, What I would do: - if you want to have a very good breakfast to avoid lunch (very expensive in Paris), 1st Le Pradey, 2nd Résidence Imperiale - if you want to be in the city center to visit the city by food, Le Pradey or Le Crayon. - if you don't mind to be at the city center and you prefer a nice hotel with a nice breakfast, Residence Imperiale. (It's just 6 or 7 stations from Tuileries - Louvre). I hope it will help you. Don't hesitate asking me for additional clarifications if you need them. I can also give you some other advises when you finally chose you hotel.
