Detailed Reviews
Easy to check in with staff who all speak English. The room was nice and we had a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower. The hotel is in a busy area with lots of restaurants and bars nearby. Great to find somewhere to eat, but a little noisy (even at 5am!) There are bus stops less that 1 minute away and these go to straight into the city centre, and various other places. Not sure I would recommend this hotel for a family with observant children as you have to walk by some adult shops/venues to get to the hotel. But for adults only, and excellent find!

This hotel is fantastic on many levels, most of which have been listed by other visitors. Great friendly staff, large bedrooms, location excellent for being able to travel around the city of Paris, and some of the most comfortable beds in any hotel we have stayed in (and we stay in hotels every week).
The hotel is no more than 2 min walk from 2 metro stations, and only a short walk from sacre coeur and the vibrant streets of this famous art districts. The streets between the hotel, sacre coeur to the north, opera to the south are vibrant, littered with great bars and restaurants as well as stunning views and architecture.
Within 10 to 15 mins by metro you can be overlooking the Eiffel Tower or at arc de triumphe for a stroll down the champs elysee. And you can do all of the sights in Paris in the knowledge that you have a stunning, comfortable, clean, quiet hotel to return to.
We stayed for 3 nights for my 50th birthday last week, and the hotel was one of the star attractions in our stay. Merck Beaucoup le chat noir

Stayed here with my boyfriend for a city break in Paris - really lovely hotel! Great location and very close to metro stations and bus stops (closest was about a 2 min walk across the road). Sacre Coeur is walking distance away and other key tourist destinations are fully accessible via the metro. The hotel is located on the red light district but absolutely safe and we experienced no hassle/trouble whatsoever! Lovely clean room, comfortable beds and housekeeping was done everyday providing fresh towels. Breakfast was included in our package - continental breakfast which was nice. Best to come down earlier around 8.30/9am if you can, as the breakfast area is fairly small so gets busy quickly with hotel guests. Overall we would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

I booked this hotel through Eurostar back in August for my husband’s 30th birthday weekend away. 2 days prior to Christmas Day Eurostar emailed to cancel our return train due to the strikes and rather than change the train to an earlier one we decided to extend our trip by one more night so I booked the extra night via Eurostar’s website. We checked into the hotel and the lovely lady at reception found my 2 separate bookings and checked us in. The hotel is excellent, location is brilliant and rooms were lovely!
On our last evening we returned from a day out and our key didn’t work, I went to reception where I was told the booking for the extra night was not there and I had actually booked for 30th Jan rather than 30th December for the extra night. Completely my fault however just a human error in a rush to fix our trip 2 days prior to Christmas Day. The man at reception said there was absolutely nothing he could do about this and the only solution was for me to pay again. I explain the night I have accidentally booked for the 30th Jan we wouldn’t be able to use as we live in London and wouldn’t be coming back but he said there was absolutely no way we could transfer the payment I had made for that night at all and I would just need to pay again. I phones Eurostar in reception who were brilliant and after over an hour on the phone to them they could no longer help me as they said they were calling and emailing the hotel and no one was answering the phone. I asked the man on reception if he could answer the telephone as Eurostar we’re calling to which his response was “no the manager is not here so I can’t answer the phone”.
He simply sat at reception and watched videos on his mobile whilst I was anxious that all my possessions were locked in a room I couldn’t get to and was having to pay again for the hotel.
I understand this is my error however I can’t see why the payment couldn’t have been switched to this night rather than one in January. Our room was available and no one else had booked it.
The gentleman at reception was completely unhelpful and offered no help to my stress at all.
To summarise I have a room booked on 30th January that no one will be using.
I was also baffled as when we checked into the hotel the lady at reception found both the bookings and never said anything, instead we were locked out of our room on the 3rd night of staying there and had no alternative option other than to pay.
I see no human judgement that wouldn’t have been able to allocate the payment for the 30th Jan to the 30th December, there was no difference in price and the room was available.
All in all this ended our trip on a very sour note.

Dear Mrs sallyc731, Thank you for sharing your experience on Trip Advisor. My collegue informed me regarding the issue you had at the end of your stay. I do apologize for the inconvenience but as my receptionist explained you, the booking you had with us the last night was already prepaid and the date you choose was wrong . Therefore as you decided to reserve the last night with a different chanel than our, we are not allowed to move you booking in our system. We would have been happy to welcome you if you had choose to reserve your stay directly with us , that would have been no problem because we can be more flexible and the rate would have been more attractive to you. I totally understand that ending your stay wih this issue is not convenient for our guests. Please do not hesitate to contact us directly for you next stay in paris,, so you won't have any issue like that . Best regards, Valentine Lavergne Guest Manager

We had a very pleasant two night stay early April.
The service at the reception on arrival was good and professional: We arrived soon after 11am and left our bags at the reception. The system felt very secure as we got tickets for our bags.
We went for a coffee and a walk in the neighbourhood and came back at about 14:00 when we got our room. We appreciated the fact that we got the room before the official check-in time of 15:00.
The hotel is no frills as far as the common areas are concerned: The reception and the breakfast room are on the first floor. On the ground floor there is only the toilette.
We had room 606 which was a good size for Paris. The window faced Bd de Clichy and the Monoprix opposite. Although it is on a very busy road, the sound insulation was good enough to keep most of the street noise out.
The room had a kettle, a courtesy tray and a minibar. A bottle of water was provided each day. The flooring was laminate and the storage space was adequate. We liked the cat theme of the hotel and the room.
The bathroom only had a shower - no bathtub - but it had lots of storage space for toiletries.
The breakfast had all the standard things you would expect from a 4 star hotel, they were of high quality and the items were replenished regularly.
The area is very busy and not necessarily to everybody's taste: There are lots of "adult" shops in the neighbourhood, but there are also lots of restaurants in different price ranges, lots of shops and cafes, bakeries etc.
The transport connections are also good due to the central location and it is possible to walk to various sights.
We had a good stay and we would happily stay there again.

Dear Guest, Thank you for commenting on your stay. We are thrilled to hear that our central location served you well and that you found the service at the reception to be professional and accommodating, especially with the secured luggage system and the flexibility of an early check-in. It is heartening to know that the size of room 606 met your expectations for Parisian standards and that our efforts in soundproofing provided a peaceful retreat from the bustling Boulevard de Clichy. We are also glad that the cat-themed decor resonated with you and that the amenities, including the courtesy tray and minibar, added comfort to your stay. Our breakfast selection is something we take great pride in, and we're pleased it met your standards of quality and variety. As for the vibrant surroundings, Montmartre’s eclectic charm does cater to a range of tastes, and we appreciate your recognition of the area’s rich array of dining options and convenient transport links. At Hotel Le Chat Noir, we are committed to creating memorable stays, and your feedback is invaluable in this pursuit. We thank you once again for choosing us and for your kind words. We hope to welcome you back. Best wishes, Hotel Le Chat Noir Tel : +33 1 42 64 15 26 - Mail: bonjour@hotelchatnoir.com

First impressions are amusing if you are not familiar with Paris or this district. However, once you appreciate the theme of the neighborhood, you will be able to appreciate the great hotel, huge rooms, inviting breakfasts and great staff. We recently spent a full week here and it was fantastic. We were able to get around the city, to the flea market, and to the train with ease. Day, night...always busy and safe neighborhood. Within walking distance of a huge supermarket and less than a block to a laundry. (for those doing a bit longer stays) The breakfasts are terrific, so plan on eating them every day. The coffee/tea bar is open for use 24/7. Oh, and the bathtubs! My husband is a bath enthusiast and I swear took 2 baths every day. He kept saying he wanted one like that in our apartment. Great views too! Easy to control room temperature, plenty of space to spread out all the luggage and purchases. Highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

The hotel is well situated for Pigalle and Montmartre, the room was a good size for Paris with a modern bathroom. However, it is on a noisy road and the windows do not block out all the sound - if you like peace and quiet. The room was also a little stuffy/dusty, like it hadn't been aired for a while (although I am particularly sensitive to dust), and dark due to the decor and poor lighting. It is not the equivalent of a 4 star in the UK and there are hotels of the same standard that cost less in the area.

Booked a room at the end of May 2020. Of course booking cancelled due to Covid 19 and although promised a refund in an email sent in May 2020, this has not materialised. Have contacted several times by email and phone and fobbed off on each occasion. They have consistently ignored emails. Although now open again and taking bookings clearly refunds are not a priority for them. Other providers have refunded all costs several months ago. AVOID.

Hotel is perfectly located for bars, restaurants and quick access for visiting Sacre Coeur.
The room was clean, stylish and had lots of room to store bags etc.
Only complaint, as others have mentioned, was that the room was quite hot. My husband queried the air conditioning with reception and they confirmed it is not available in the winter months. We tried sleeping with the window open but this was incredibly noisy, so we had two nights of broken sleep. Regardless, we still enjoyed our stay at Le Chat Noir.

We booked Le Chat Noir with our Eurostar ticket and we weren’t disappointed.
Only a 15-20min walk from Gare Du Nord and only a few metres from Blanche & Pigalle stations the location was perfect.
The Moulin Rouge is a stone’s throw away and we also walked up the hill (and 220 steps) up to the Sacré Coeur for a sunset picnic.
We were pleasantly surprised that our triple room had a Juliet balcony and a view of the Eiffel Tower. Perfect to see it sparkling after sunset each evening.
I was a bit wary of the “spicy” nature of the area we were in as we were travelling with our 11 year old daughter. Other than a bit of embarrassment, on her part, there were no issues.
The room was large (we had a double bed and 1 single) with a fridge, a kettle and a desk. A really large bathroom with a huge bath (room for two easily) and a shower. There wasn’t a shower screen or curtain which did mean the floor got a little wet but it wasn’t too bad.
Check in was seamless and we were able to check in early around 1pm. Checkout was midday and there was no problem or charge to leave our bags whilst we had one last day exploring before our train home early evening.
The hotel was very quiet and we barely saw any other residents. Outside was a bit noisy at night but it didn’t disturb us with the windows closed.
We enjoyed lunch on our last day at the Chat Noir restaurant downstairs. An added bonus.

Dear Katie, Thank you for taking the time to let us know your opinion of your recent stay. We are thrilled that your stay at Hotel Le Chat Noir was a memorable one, and we appreciate your kind words. We are delighted that you enjoyed the spaciousness of your room, including the convenience of a fridge, kettle, and desk, as well as the large bathroom equipped with a bath that comfortably fits two. It is wonderful to hear that the check-in process was seamless and that our staff accommodated your early check-in needs. Additionally, we are pleased that the check-out flexibility allowed you to make the most of your last day in Paris. The quietness of the hotel interior, despite our vibrant location, also seems to have contributed to the enjoyment of your stay. However, we note your comments about the absence of a shower screen, which led to water on the floor. We understand that this can be a concern, and we will certainly take your feedback into consideration as we continuously seek to improve our guest experience. Finally, we are pleased that the view of the Eiffel Tower from your room added a sparkling touch to your evenings, and that the hotel's proximity to iconic landmarks like the Moulin Rouge and Sacré Coeur provided you with an authentic Parisian experience. The bonus of having the Chat Noir restaurant on hand is certainly something that many of our guests find convenient and enjoyable. We all look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
