Hotel Rochechouart captures the essence of Paris with its art deco elegance, receiving compliments for its clean and charming Parisian rooms. The prime location is a highlight for many guests, placing them close to attractions. However, opinions on value are divided; some find it reasonable, while others are taken aback by additional costs.
The amenities, including a rooftop bar and restaurant, are generally appreciated, though availability can be an issue. Service quality mostly garners positive remarks, albeit with occasional lapses. The vibrant music during dinner, however, may not be to everyone's taste.

First of all, location. Very close to the Gare du Nord (practical when you come from Lille to spend a weekend!). Close to the metro (lines 2 and 12 in front of the door) Montmartre accessible on foot in less than 10 minutes. The art deco atmosphere (sober, classy and refined decor). Can be a little dark at reception. The restaurant room is very beautiful. Breakfast is good. The bedding is very good and I really liked the soap and body lotion toiletries which smell very good. I even bought some on the way out 👍 We were lucky enough to be accommodated in a suite and it was a great experience. Very beautiful and calm. Very good sound insulation. I will return without hesitation to this charming hotel where the staff is very kind and attentive.

This hotel far surpassed expectations. Staff were absolutely amazing, nothing was too much and Lucie spent a long time explaining the areas to go (and not!) within the local area with great clarity. The standard of food was excellent and the hotel had a really luxurious feel. Beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable and had a sumptuous feel. The hotel is a strange mix of really quiet when you need it to be and with a sassy bar on the roof. When I first went up to the roof bar, it took my breath away- not for the faint hearted! But wow what an unforgettable view of the city, whilst you enjoy a drink. It is in the heart of Pigalle with 2 metro stops close by. We much preferred to use Anvers, it had a safer feel. There is a great little supermarket about 200m away, useful for buying drinks that you can store in the fridge. There is also the option of leaving luggage with them for safekeeping before you check in or out, which tops dragging bags around Paris. If you love the Sacré cœur, it's the place for you, access to this unique landmark is close by (although it involves a lot of stairs!). Montmartre also boasts lots of choice in eateries especially around Place de Tetre, food is reasonably priced for tourists. Within the hotel, there are quiet spaces to enjoy and relax as well as enjoying an old world splendor with its graceful decor . Showers in a wet room style- en suite were powerful, lots of fluffy towels and beautiful smelling toiletries. Really not one to miss!

We arrived at the Hotel mid afternoon and nothing was too much trouble. The tariff included a classic French Breakfast which I always enjoy. Our room was very comfortable and by Parisian standards quite spacious. We took full advantage of the roof top bar which was quite nice to enjoy a glass of wine while admiring the vista before us. Tip get there early as it can get full very quickly as it is also popular with the locals. We didn’t use the restaurant as there were so many local options but the menu looked appetising and if breakfast was anything to go by……. The hotel is in a great location and close to Public transport - it’s kept very clean and a lot of effort is made to ensure the comfort of their patrons - I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel highly

Stayed for 6 nights for the Rugby World Cup. This hotel could do so much better with a few simple changes.
The room was small and lacked any proper storage space but the bed was extremely comfortable, the room clean, and staff friendly - overall it met our needs.
Our toilet roll wasn’t replenished during the daily cleans (even when both empty tubes were in the bathroom) so we ran out and had to call the reception - it’s pretty basic to ensure there is toilet roll in a room.
Our tv didn’t have any channels tuned on it but connected to YouTube, not sure if that was on purpose or a fault but it was annoying.
Breakfast was a selection of croissants, breads, and a couple of hot items but the worst of it was that if you arrived at the start (7am) or within 40 minutes of breakfast ending there was no hot food at all so we ended up not bothering going on a couple of days!
The rooftop bar is a great place for a drink, with views over Paris, but it was closed for 2 whole days for private events, with notice only given on the day of each event itself.
The hotel was in a great location, lots of bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
With a few simple improvements, this hotel would be fantastic!

I am giving a "moyen" rate mainly because of the bedroom deco. The brown carpet might be nice when it is brand new but it just doesn't age well. It doesn't feel clean which is not what you expect from a hotel room at this price. The bathroom floor really could do with some under floor heating. There is no towel rail or radiator. The whole bedroom felt rather chilly. We had to ask for a radiator which Reception arranged promptly. We stayed for 2 nights and unfortunately they forgot to clean our room after night 1, it was very disappointing to come back to wet towels and unmade beds. They apologised and came whilst we were out for dinner. I was expecting some kind of compensation when we checked out but nothing. The big selling point for this hotel is the view over le Sacré Coeur from the top floor bedrooms which we had and the view from the roof terrasse over Paris. The playlist in the common areas and breakfast are also very good! And the shower gel smells divine!

Friendly staff and in a good location for the metro and places to eat. Great views from the roof but no staff on duty when we went up for a drink late afternoon. Bathroom had a bath with shower over the bath but no hook for shower head on the wall and shower screen too narrow. Coffee machine pods/sugar were not replaced when used. Art Deco hotel but additional lighting is needed in the corridors. We enjoyed our stay in Paris but the hotel is not quite 4 star - we booked it as part of a Eurostar package from London.

Dear Annie, while I read your impressions on your stay , I find myself to be very bitter of that , even if the sweet welcome nosta has left you indifferent . The hotel is historic, no doubt , and it is the charm that brings it since the 30s that characterizes it , this but also involves what is a very simple and historical decoration that may not be suitable for all pleasures . I chose this hotel for my partner's 40th birthday because of all the positive reviews. Unfortunately, I couldn't see what inspired such high reviews.
The rooms are incredibly dark and dated, and though I expected the room to be small (it is Paris afterall), the suite could have done with a lot more space.
Housekeeping left a lot to be desired, there were strands of hair in the sheets on the night we arrived , unfortunately we arrived late and night and couldn't get housekeeping to change the sheets. We had to specifically ask that the room be cleaned daily and even then, a poor job was done. I had spilled coffee on a surface and returned to the same spilt coffee even after the room was allegedly cleaned. The shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom was never replaced either despite housekeeping attending.
On the plus side, the hotel did a wonderful job arranging balloons & flowers to surprise my partner as per my request and the area is wonderful for good transport links, a short walk to sacre coeur and nice little cafes all around.

How did this hotel receive a Travelers' Choice award? We just returned from 3 days at the Hotel Rochechouart and this is the first review I have been inclined to write in over a decade. I was traveling with my husband and 11 year old daughter. We stayed in a Grand Junior Suite. Before writing this review I read the summary "combines modern comfort with distinguished services" I laughed out loud. The hotel rooms are the darkest I've ever experienced. Even my husband said "this place is a dump" and he is not picky. Didn't help that the walls are dark brown and so is the carpet. Old paint, old carpet. The toilet is in a small closet by itself, European, I know. They provided only one functional USB port which obviously provides challenges. The extra bed in our room was not made up. When I asked for sheets, I was told housekeeping had left until the morning, it was 8:10pm. When we returned at 11pm there was no one at the front desk, zero staff to contact until morning. Less than pleased that we paid for a "Grand Junior Suite" only to all sleep in the same king bed. Additionally, anyone could access the staircase in the lobby to the hotel rooms, no room key needed. This seemed unsafe since the front doors to the hotel were unlocked. A room key was required for the elevator. Pros: The surrounding side streets were charming, the view of Sacre Coeur from the room was impressive and if you are visiting during warmer months the rooftop has a wonderful view of the Eiffel Tower. We passed a number of hotels as we enjoyed the neighborhood and I kicked myself that I hadn't booked one of them. Stay in the area, just not here.

Dear, thank you for expressing your opinion and feelings about your stay . Opinion which I am very sad to read . I am truly sorry that the decor and layout of the rooms were not to your liking . The Rochehcouart is a hotel renowned for its historical beauty in its decor and choice of classic colours of a '30s Paris . Given the busy area in the Sacré-Coeur area, we take great care to maintain security; there is authorised access only for staff working there and our dear guests. I would, however, like to contact you in person to clarify your curiosity and resentment and above all to regain some stars in your eyes . I hope you might give us a second chance in discovering the Rochechouart , I am sure you will not be displeased . See you soon . Dounia , Guest Relation manager

If available I would probably give it a 3.5. When we checked in Frédéric was outstanding. Really quirks to get us settled seamlessly and went the extra mile. Other staff interactions were also very good. The rooms were a bit dated but comfortable. Bathroom was small, shower was tiny and hard to turn around in without bumping into the shelf or moving the shower handle to hot or cold. Air conditioning was adequate. Biggest problem with the room was sewer gasses occasionally vented in the room. That was really bad. We told management but they probably couldn't do anything in the short term. This problem has to be fixed, the odor at times is awful. The highlight of the hotel is the rooftop with a fantastic view. The hotel is on a main street so a bit noisy. Lastly we prepaid for breakfast for 4 mornings which started at 7. We had tours scheduled which required we eat at 7 two mornings and the breakfast was not ready either morning so we paid over 20 euro each for a croissant. If you stay at 7, be ready at 7. The hotel was okay, but you'll be happier a couple of streets up the hill in Montmartre, closer to cafes. Staff 5 Room comfort 4 Room condition 3 Rooftop 5 Neighborhood area 3.5 Convenience to dining 3 Bathroom 3

We stayed for 3 nights, arriving on Friday afternoon with a very easy walk from Gare du Nord. Lovely welcome at reception and delicious madeleines in the room.
We had an executive room on 8 floor (809) as we knew the rooms would be small. This room, whilst styled beautifully was cosy and narrow. Lovely comfortable bed situated under a sloping ceiling which had to be negotiated carefully. Lighting is very subdued. Could have done with lighting at the mirror as this was the only place for hair/ make up, no room for two in the bathroom!
Ah the bathroom! Very small indeed, the big issue with it is that there is no ventilation or extractor fan, it become very damp and smelt, this was noticeable as you walked into the room, not what would be expected for this star rating.
We requested a quiet room and it was at the back of the hotel, however it seemed to be opposite an office and through the night there was some kind of buzzer that went off 2-3 times, we couldn’t work out what it was, it was disturbing.
The roof terrace was directly above and was a lovely place to watch the sunset, all was well on Friday and Sunday, however on Saturday night and into the early hours, people visiting the terrace were constantly moving furniture, the scraping sounds carrying through as it is directly above and completely disturbed our sleep.
We would have expected filtered water in the room each day, this was only provided on the first night.
The bar is lovely with great service and we ate in the restaurant with our family on Saturday evening ( there is a club also so the place becomes lively) Very good menu and wine.
Breakfast was ok, slow to top up hot foods but good choice available.
Great choices to eat and drink locally, well located with two metro stations reached within a few minutes and of course walkable from the Eurostar. Transport was a factor for us as we were visiting Aubervilliers for the festival and it was a very quick and easy metro ride.
Lots going for it, lovely spaces, sleep ( although bed was very comfortable, noise was an issue) and comfort were compromised and lack of attention to detail especially in relation to the bathroom, that really should be resolved

No, 17 euros for breakfast is not worth it and deluxe room that I had was tiny size so I can just imagine how classic/ standard looks. I hit myself several time because it was hard to walk around in such a small place.
I stayed in a room with one other person and had two twins. We had a small tub and shower combination (small by American standards, not sure about European ones).
