Our family spent the better part of a week in this lovely hotel during our visit to Paris. What can we say? The location is perfect (across the river from the Lourve), the rooms were well appointed, well lit, very comfortable and we heard no noise from the street nor other rooms and the staff is truly wonderful. Our package included breakfast which was a very generous offering of breads, pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit, meats and eggs. You are 5 minutes walk to the Lourve and it’s lovely gardens and a 10 minute walk to Musee d’Orsay. We found ourselves walking to many venues, although the Arc de Triomphe took about an hour, but was well worthwhile. There are many shops and bistros in the neighborhood so you’d won’t have to look far for great shopping and wonderful meals. There is also a supermarket right around the corner so you can fill in with anything you need. We highly recommend Pont Royal and will stay there again on our next visit.

Dear Sh5fam Thank you for your wonderful feedback and for sharing your experience, this means a lot ! Indeed the main attractions are only few minutes walking distance, you can go by the Quays to reach the Eiffel Tower or - as you did bravely - the Arc de Triomphe by the Champs Elysées ( Impressive !) Please do not hesitate in contacting our reservation and concierge department for your next stay in Paris. Looking forward to welcoming you back to your Parisian home, Pauline

Myself and my husband stayed at this hotel for a weekend getaway to celebrate his birthday.

We booked the deluxe room with a supposed view of the Eiffel Tower. This was the only issue that made me not award 5 stars actually so I wanted the point this out first- our view of the tower was completely blocked due to scaffolding all along the building next door to the hotel.
This was extremely upsetting considering the very reason we chose this hotel and that particular room (which is more expensive than the standard rooms, naturally) was for the view of the tower, which was impossible to see due to the scaffolding in the way.
The hotel staff at reception of course stated that they had no alternative rooms that would allow a view of the tower available (which can’t be helped if they were at capacity) however it would stand to reason that they’d at the very least notify guests of the inconvenience PRIOR to checking in and being taken to their room when they are quite clearly aware of the situation. You can’t label a room as having a view of the Eiffel Tower when it doesn’t…

That being said- their form of an apology was to send up a bottle of Laurent Perrier champagne which we did appreciate. It was a nice gesture.

The room itself was lovely- really vintage looking and typically Parisian. We loved it.
The bed was comfortable, there was enough pillows, sheets, etc and we managed to sleep soundly both nights.

You are facing a road (as you’ll see from the photos I’ve provided. Although all views pretty much are taken to the right of us to avoid the scaffolding to the left) however it’s not an overly busy road in the evenings and we didn’t notice any noise disturbance.

The bathroom had a lovely deep bathtub that was large enough for both myself and my husband to relax in, and a shower that has great water pressure with the bonus of beautifully scented shower gel and soap available.

We found the staff to be polite, friendly and willing to accommodate any requests we had including a coffee machine, coffee and plug adapters.
We really found this to be a lovely way to treat guests.

Location is perfect for access to the tourist hotspots including the River Seine, Louvre Museum, etc as well as a few bars, restaurants, and a supermarket across the road.

All in all whilst it was extremely unfortunate that our stay happened to coincide with renovations that blocked our desired view we would be happy to return in the future to possible stay in the same room again to be able to experience the view we hoped for.

I stayed at the Pont Royal with a group of family members. We are all frequent travellers to Paris and know many hotels, but were very happy with the Pont Royal. The location is absolutely perfect - in St. Germain, near the metro and close to the river. The rooms are larger than in most Parisian hotels. Despite the fact that it's on a main street you can't hear any street noise at all from the rooms. The wifi worked very well, which is exceptional in Paris! The breakfast was very good, and the staff was very friendly. The hotel definitely offered great value for the price. My ONLY complaint was that there was only one bottle of water on the day of arrival and no water after that. The hotel should follow the practice of most hotels around the world and provide water. However, this is a minor issue. I'll definitely go back and recommend to friends who are visiting Paris.

Fantastic location and service at this boutique hotel. The staff was amazing, location within walking distance of Musee d'Orsay and the Louvre and a manageable walk to the Latin Quarter, Eiffel Tower, etc... Rooms were smallish, which is standard for European hotels (that I've stayed in) but the bathroom was big, and it had a nice tub/shower. I can't say enough good things about how polite and helpful the staff was. We will stay here again soon!

My wife and/or I love Hotel Pont Royal and we typically go always go there when we go to Paris. The hotel is very well located (7th district) close to St Germain des Pres and close to the Seine River and many famous museums. It is in one of the best and elegant neighborhood in Paris. Location is excellent.

The hotel itself is great and beautiful. It boasts a 5 star and is adjacent to l’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, one of the finest restaurant in Paris.

The staff at the hotel is wonderful and very helpful and nice. Very friendly and attentive to make sure that your stay is great.

The rooms are nice and cost with all the amenities that are needed. Bathroom is very nice. Some rooms have a view on the Eiffel Tower or the Sacre Cœur. All rooms are quiet as the hotel is in a relatively quiet neighborhood despite its great location.

Breakfast is very good as well and service is great and attentive. Pastries are excellent.

Overall this is an excellent choice if you want to have a great stay in an elegant and stylish hotel close to many famous museums.

Highly Recommended!!!

We loved this hotel! Steps away from the Seine and everything you want to see in Paris. The friendly staff made it the best stay ever! From the front desk, Pasedalina makes you feel at home, helps you with your wifi and makes great suggestions for dinner. The cleaning staff puts cookies in your room every night and the bartender remembers your favorite drink in the warm, cozy bar. Wonderful place!

Leaving Paris yesterday was not as sad because after our 5th time visiting Paris, we realized we found our hotel. We are counting the days until we return to Hotel Pont Royal. The view is breathtaking of the entire city. It is the quintessential view of Paris rooftops seen in photos. And if that isn't enough, this view includes all the highlights Napoleon, the Eiffel Tower, Grand Palais, Louvre, Sacre Coeur. The staff is warm and welcoming and very thoughtful. Lena was very helpful with any request we had, even arranging a great car service at the last minute to ensure we got the airport early to avoid the closures due to the planned strike the day of our departure. The breakfast room has sky lights for great natural light and a complete spread with large cups of black coffee not often found in Paris. The young man that runs this breakfast room is so gracious. We also had the pleasure of having drinks several nights in the bar, and a late meal after a full day. After our first visit, Margaux greeted us by name with her big smile and took such great care of us. The rooms are the typical size in Paris, however they have lost of room to put away luggage and clothes (although there could be a bit more room for hanging clothes) so that we were able to enjoy our time there without feeling cramped. The oversized bottles of water on our night stands each night was a super nice touch. And our balcony was our favorite spot morning and night. Also if you visit, make sure to get a reservation in the restaurant next door, L'atelier de Joel Robuchon. Watching the kitchen is something to see, and the food is tremendous. Thank you Hotel Pont Royal! We will be seeing you soon!

Made in what I would call the Pretentiously Onanistic style. Lots of fancy fittings and shiny glitz, poor on comfort.

The bathroom especially is awful. As best I can tell only one room in the whole hotel, the penthouse suite, has a walk in shower. The ordinary rooms, strangely names "Superior", have a bath with a silly hand shower. If you can get into the bath without breaking your neck, you are guaranteed to get the whole bathroom floor dangerously slippery wet. You will then have trouble with the hot and cold taps to get the right temperature. The slightest turn on the cold tap will choke off the hot water. Once its has been adjusted it suffers hot and cold flushes for the rest of the trime.

They provided a bath chair for my wife, but it doesn't work for her, so with limited mobility she will have to make do with sponge baths while we are here. And this at north of EUR700 per night!

The service on arrival was very good. We were shown to our room and the bags were brought up moments later. Much fuss was made of the bottles of complimentary water.

The TV does not work. WiFi is throttled to 5MB/S.

Our room was ready when we arrived at 12:30 in the afternoon which for any long distance travel is deeply appreciated. The room was immaculate and comfortable. The staff helped us book a restaurant at Didon the first night. We had had no reservations anywhere. Didon was a wonderful surprise. It was excellent. The ladies at reception were always willing to help us and booked additional reservations for us throughout our 5 night stay. I am planning on staying with them in the future.

Does anyone have experience with ease of getting two rooms next to each other for a family?
Answer from Nancy T
1 contribution2 helpful votes
Hi, I would request it and see if it can be accommodated. We found the concierge to be very, very helpful. However since we made requests WITH bookings you may have to do similar via the hotel via Trip Advisor. We were able to cancel our reservations within a reasonable window if they responded and could not accommodate our request. We actually did book and then added a day to our multiple nights stay and were able to arrange have one billing not 2 separately. Again, Trip Advisor provides a window of cancellation without penalty. Just stipulate to the hotel what requirements you have. The floor we stayed on (8th) only had 801, 802, 803. It is a boutique hotel. Really a marvelous experience for us in 801 and next time we will stay even longer! Good luck, you won’t be sorry staying there!
