I stayed here for 3 nights with my sister on a short break to Paris. The hotel is in a quiet but safe area of Paris and we were happy to walk around the area in the evening and found a few nice places to eat nearby. There is also a supermarket very close. The rooms were small but were adequate for our needs as we were out most of the day and they were clean and comfortable. There are two metro stations very close by as well as being a 15-20 minute walk from the Notre dame. For us, the hotel was in a manageable location to visit the city but it is a little out so the good public transport links help. I would return as it was well located but quiet so we could get a good night's sleep.

Dear Carjf5, Thank you very much for sharing your experience and impression on our Hotel des nations Saint Germain. We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay with us thanks to the friendliness and the attentiveness of our team. Everyday in Paris is a discovery and a little street can hide a beautifully cultural gem. Such as the Arènes de Lutèce that actually are a poorly known monument of Paris. Constructed in the 1st century AD, this amphitheater is considered the longest of its kind constructed by the Romans and could welcome 15000 persons at his opening. Free and across the road, why not go check it out, or just eat some Baguette sandwich on one of its stairs. We would be happy to welcome you back during your next Parisian getaway. We will make sure to share with the team the delightful comments. And surely see you next time. Best regards. The Team of the Hotel Des Nations St Germain Paris.

We stayed for 6 nights during a recent trip to France. The reception staff was very welcoming. The hotel is in a great location close to both the Cardinal Lemoine and Monge stations. So very easy to get around Paris. There are great restaurants within walking distance to the hotel. The hotel and our room was spotlessly clean. While not overly large, compared to the rooms of friends who were also staying at the hotel, it was decent size with a large bathroom. Two things keep this from being a 5 star review - the noise that carried over from other rooms on our floor. It seemed that the walls were paper thin. The other thing is that the mattress was super firm which is frequently the case in Europe, but still after 6 nights, we were ready for a change. It would have been nice to have a chair in the room rather than the 2 upholstered ottomans. Given the bed was not comfortable to begin with, having it as the only sitting option wasn’t too wonderful. As we booked on the hotel website, we did have breakfast included. It was fine and not dissimilar to other continental breakfasts offered by other hotels.

Very good hotel in a wonderful area of Paris. Rooms are small (which is pointed out perfectly in the description), but very clean and you even have a small minibar. We were given a room on the 2nd floor with no view at all, but when I complained about that at the reception desk they immediately gave us a room on the 5th floor with street view. It even had a very small balcony from which you could see the Notre Dame and the Sacre Coeur!! The breakfast is very good but you have to be early to get something warm like eggs, bacon etc. These items did not get a refill, which is the only negative thing I can say. Lovely cappuccino!

We would not stay at this hotel again because the service is terrible. The front desk does not respond to emails regarding existing bookings. When you reserve a taxi, the front desk does not inform you about booking and luggage fees. The carpets in our room were stained and old. We found a large spider on our bed. Fortunately, we spotted the insect so it wouldn’t crawl on us when we were sleeping. Hotel Monge across the street looks much better (we will stay there next time). Hotel Fabric is also a great choice in Le Marais. Hotel positives are 1) good location, 2) two Metro stops nearby and 3) breakfast lady was friendly and helpful (she should be in charge of the hotel).

Liked · good location and good wifi

Disliked · Tiny room 250 cm by 350 cm, bed only 180 cm long and 145 cm wide, shower only 60 cm by 60 cm, cracks in wash basin and toilet hood. space for wash basin too tight to spread your arms. not possible to fill the watercooker under the tap. a drinking glass had to be used. No printed or video channel guide in the room with telephone numbers to call in emergency and nowhere a mentioning of the telephone number of the reception desk. We one evening ran out of toilet paper because the cleaning lady had forgotten and had to go down to the reception desk ourselves. Outside of the building looked neglected While checking out the reception did not enquire after our satisfaction with the stqy.

Dear Sir, First we apologize for troubles, we really sad to learn you did not enjoy your stay in our hotel. Room size is well in the average of three-star hotel. In Paris, hotel’s rooms are small. The bed you had Is well 190cm*140 cm. Reception desk number is well indicated in the room directory, and emergency number is well indicated behind room’s door. Actually, we were able to give you another room. Reception desk is opened 24 hours, for any assistance or finding solutions to make your stay more comfortable. For information our building is historical one and protected by city of Paris. We can’t renovate the outside wall as we want. We are sad to read your disappointment after your stay, myself and the staff were at your disposal to make your stay great. Grégoire Manager

We did not enjoy our stay in this hotel. The quality of the room was extremely poor and unclean. The carpet, bed throws and pillows all had stains on them.
The room itself was very small. As we had baggage, it left us feeling extremely cramped. We asked for an upgrade for a larger room, which we would pay for, and the concierge was not very accommodating and declined.
The air conditioning didn’t work, so the room was very hot which was not comfortable in any way.
The concierge upon departure was lovely however, and greeted us with a smile. This was the only positive to our stay.
Very unhappy with the overall stay and cleanliness of the room.

Some renovations are planned and we really hope to welcome you again to show you them. Best regards

A minute or so to two different subway lines, this hotel is in an excellent location for those wanting an authentic Parisian feel. It's close to the Parthenon, Sorbonne and dozens of restaurants, plus it's just across the street from some Roman arena ruins, which makes for a nice, contemplative green-space. The rooms are fairly small, but typical for the Haussmann design. The carpeting is a little worse for wear and the modern shine is starting to fade a bit; probably in need of refurb in the next couple of years, but for now, it's part of the charm. Street noise was not a problem with my back-facing room but the hallway conversations could easily be heard through the closed door. Fortunately, the other guests were quiet and respectful. The staff were helpful, professional and efficient, The breakfast was delicious, just make sure it's included or not as that wasn't entirely clear upon check-in.

Although the staff was friendly, my overall experience was unpleasant. The room (#55) was small, and the bathroom was tiny and unclean with moisture on the walls! The worst part was the overpowering smell of moisture or sewage in both the bedroom and bathroom, forcing me to keep the windows open when the temperature was as low as 3°C - and getting no sleep at all.

I do not recommend booking a taxi through the hotel as the driver will charge you an extra 7€ without prior notice from the hotel.

Rooms very small and shower almost unfit for purpose . Hotel clean and tidy BEWARE . If hotel call a taxi for you 7 EURO SURCHARGE and fare verges on extortion . Not informed by hotel of this fact and short trip to Luxembourg station doubled in price as a result . Good price food available nearby and it’s handy for getting around .

Dear VincentB, Thank you very much for this review and for taking the time to share your impressions and personal experience after your stay with us. The location of the hotel is indeed, perfect. The area of Quartier Latin is truly safe and feels like a real “slice” into the Parisian lifestyle. In between the beautiful Lutece Arena and the Rue Mouffetard full of shop and restaurants, the hotel is beautifully located. Within 15 minutes walking to Notre Dame and 20 to the Luxembourg garden it is always a great place to visit Paris from the centre. We are sincerely sorry to hear about the disappointed memory you kept of our hotel. To come back on the issue, it is true that any taxi in Paris, when booked in advance or called up other than on the street or at a taxi stand is resulting in a fare of 7 euros. Even if you book it yourself over the phone or on your mobile. We are sorry that we didn't inform you of this before hand. It is standard and is not a commission of some sort for the hotel. It is how the parisian taxis opperate. That is why we try to tell our guests as much as possible and for short trips we direct them to the nearby taxi stand or help them hail a cba on the street. We took great interest on reading your comment to make sure that any matter of this sort, rare or not, will never be poorly handled again. We are sorry for that and are hoping that this experience will not be the last one, because this doesn’t reflect our true service and spirit, and that we can turn your opinion around. Usually, we have everything you could wish for, and all requests are taking into account as much as possible. But in that unusual case, the receptionist was reprimanded and the matter greatly taking into advisement by the head staff. We are nevertheless truly thankful for your feedback. Helping us to improve and develop our services is priceless. And we will be happy to welcome you again, any time. We will make sure to share with the team the delightful comments. And surely see you next time. Best regards. The Team of the Hotel Des Nations St Germain Paris.

Bonjour! Lovely to hear that we will welcome you in March. At the airport you'll have to be extra carefull cauz there are a lot of fake taxis and private drivers that scam tourists. So you'll have to follow the sign for the taxi stand and wait in line (do not follow guys that take your luggage and tell you they are taxi and will take care of everything and will charge you a fixed price). By law all official taxis have the prices fixed and are for CDG 55 euros (1 or 2 pax). Uber will be cheaper, something more like 35 euros but it's hard to get one from the airport (but for the way back it's super easy). Hope this helped. Will see you soon. Best regards!

We took the trains. There is a train just a couple blocks from the hotel and then you pick up the RER train to CDG airport. It takes about 45 mins for the trip, and somewhere around $10 euro per person.
