About 2 minutes walk from Gare du Nord station. Very convenient if you are travelling via Eurostar. Restaurants and supermarkets located nearby. Can be a bit noisy during the night from the music outside (maybe just the side I was staying in, can not speak for all rooms). Staff were friendly and helpful. Our return train was in the evening, so after checking out at midday; we were allowed to leave our luggage in reception and collect it in the evening.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your comment. We are very glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. Actually we recently had our windows change to improve sound proofing from surrounding disturbances. Would you stay another time with us, do not hesitate to let us know if you still hear sounds from the outside as we can also request the people playing the music to turn down the volume.

Completely satisfied with my stay here. The location couldn't be more convenient. Practically right across the street from the Gare du Nord, so easy connections around the city and to the airport. Rooms are small, which will shock many Americans, but welcome to Paris. I was totally comfortable in my single room, with everything I needed. And the staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful, from accommodating my unexpectedly early arrival, helping me orient to the neighborhood, and storing my luggage on my departure day.

My only warning to travelers is that the hotel possesses a seriously tiny lift, the smallest I've ever experienced. It's so wedged into its tiny space that it's even triangular, so, fair warning to anyone traveling with large luggage. I can't imagine being able to fit in the lift with big bags -- you might have to send your traveling partner up, then send the luggage in the lift alone after? On my own with my carry on I was totally fine, though, if a mite claustrophobic :)

Brilliant staff who were very friendly and helped us have a pleasant stay as a family. Even though there were transportation strikes, they helped us navigate Paris and ensure our child was very well taken care of during the stay. The rooms were good and the breakfast was nice for a family with a child

Highly recommend this hotel as one of the very best in the area.

comfortable, clean hotel with pleasant staff and short walk to different metro lines for getting around the city. However ! on checking in i paid the city tax and it was confirmed my stay was fully paid for, i didn't have breakfast or any additional charges ! a few days after returning home and checking my credit card bill the hotel had charged me again for my room, i emailed the hotel via Ebookers and got no response, Ebookers again were rubbish as apparently they couldn't get through to contact the hotel. A week later i did get a refund which after currency charges wasn't the same amount and have had no apology or reply from the hotel.

Dear Sir, We are really sorry for this issue. We would have contacted you directly but Ebookers works this way and always is the middle for all exchange with you. We did send our apologies through them but it seems they did not reach you. As soon as Ebookers did warn us, we refunded your card with the exact amount that was charged in euros. It is a shame that the currency change was not the same then. We would like to compensate you for this loss as well as for the inconvenience with a commercial gesture for your next stay in Paris, please contact us directly for organization. We hope to get the chance to change your mind about our establishment.

I usually travel via Paris with my wife, up to 8 times a year, normally booking via another well known hotel booking site. On this occasion, we liked the look of the Albert hotel which was available on the Expedia site, having only used Expedia on one or two occasions before now with nothing ill to report. Then again, there was no unusual circumstances where we needed any support. On this trip, due to the French strikes our planned train was cancelled, meaning we had to change our hotel booking. Unfortunately, we only had 24 hours notice of this from SNCF. On attempting to change our booking on Expedia we were greeted with the news that although we paid for the cancellation option, the hotels policy was that we had to cancel 48 hours before the arrival date. This is quite unusual as most bookings with cancellation options allow you to cancel right of until the day of arrival. We missed this when booking here so we had no real recourse for a refund in the terms of the contract. No argument here, in any event the terms were that we paid at the hotel. However, given the extenuating circumstances and the fact that we did not want to cancel but simply move our booking I tried to contact the hotel by phone, with no success, I then contacted the hotel by message using the link on the Expedia site, explaining the situation. This resulted in a standard computer generated reply instructing me to contact the hotel. I went onto the hotels website and emailed them, to my frustration the returned message instructed me to contact Expedia. The only other actionable option for me was to cancel the booking via Expedia. However, this came with a warning that if I cancelled, this would be regarded as a “no show” whereupon my credit card would immediately be debited. I tried to speak to someone regarding this as my messages were clearly becoming computer files but with no success. On the planed day of arrival, my credit card was debited the full cost of the stay plus tax. I will of course take this up with my card issuer and my travel insurance but my main problem here was the enormous frustration and uncertainty generated by the hotels, and Expedia’s lack of real communication and empathy here. I will not be using either again.

Dear Sir, We thank you for sharing your experience with us and we are deeply sorry for this misadventure. This note however should be on Expedia's page and not ours. When you make a reservation through a third party website such as Expedia, you have to understand that we, the hotel, have no control over it, all modification has to go through them. Given that fact, we have reviewed all bookings from Expedia impacted with the strikes and for all of them we have agreed for a modification free of charge. We hope that with all those pieces of information, you will consider changing your mind and give us another chance booking directly with us (our website always offer the best rates).

We travelled by Eurostar holidays to Paris, hotel recommended by Eurostar. Literally 5 minutes walk from station, check in was simple and straightforward, reception staff, very welcoming and informative. We had room 17 facing the Main Street, very busy street but the hotel has triple glazing and there was no issue with noise. Room was ideal for the two of us and was spotless, maid cleaned everyday and fresh towels, plenty hot water , safe and secure room and environment, all hotel staff have been magnificent, metro just across the road and easy to use, we would stay here again , ideal hotel and base for exploring Paris,
Thank you for looking after us,

I’ve just checked out after a week staying here and I have zero complaints. Ignore the nonsense that inexperienced travellers have posted about credit cards and the like. They don’t have a clue how Hotels work.

Paris Hotels are not American Hotels so get used to it. It’s part of the experience. The lift is hilariously small and will fit you and your luggage. This is called “charm”. The rooms are small which is why you are in Paris in the first place. Go to The Louvre or have dinner at a fabulous restaurant. Don’t sit in your Hotel room.

The housekeeping staff are delightful and so are the front desk staff. You check out at 12 and they will store your luggage until it’s time to go home.

Yes, there’s street noise (triple glazed windows and A/c deals with that) but this Hotel is a real find in a city that can break the Bank if you let it.

I didn’t have breakfast at the Hotel. I walked across the road to the Patisserie every morning and have Coffee and Croissants.

Travel tips:

Be nice
Learn some French
You are on their turf and it’s rude not to act like a guest
Explore the city by foot or use the metro
Ignore the night manager - he’s not happy.

The night manager let’s the rest of the fabulous team down which is sad. He doesn’t engage, is more interested in his phone and slams your key down on the front desk. I don’t think that hospitality is for him. Don’t judge an entire Hotel by one person having a bad day/week/month/year. Everyone else makes up for him. Just smile at him and catch the lift to your room and move on.

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The front desk staff were particularly helpful and courteous when we had to extend our stay after Cathay Pacific lost our luggage and failed to deliver it on time, which meant we had to extend our time in Paris. The Hotel Albert staff went the extra mile to assist us. The rooms are a little bit on the small side but have all the amenities that you need. The location is great, with easy access to the Gare du Nord station and Metro, with Gare de l’Est also nearby. We also appreciated the included breakfast, which had simple but enjoyable cereals, pastry and breads. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is great for anyone looking for quick access to Nord Station and is about 20 mins from some of the major sites via the metro system. The rooms are small but I knew that when booking. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel so I am not able to comment on that service but the hotel staff was kind and helpful. I didn't give it 4 stars mainly because I felt that the room needed some refreshing. Marks on the wall, the tub/shower was old and hard to get into. The bed was comfortable.

Do not under any circumstances give these people your credit card information as they will charge you in advance for services they do not provide. We booked through hotels.com and selected the option for PAY AT HOTEL. The hotel pre authorised the money on our card without permission and despite cancelling the stay they still hold the authorisation which renders the money unusable to us. Shocking behaviour.

Dear Sir, We are sorry that you were unhappy with your booking experience with us. Some of your statements are however not true. As we explained to you, a pre-authorization is not a charge. On hotels.com (as on all our partners) it is clearly noted that when you choose the "Pay at hotel" option, we proceeed with a pre-authorization in order to verify the provided credit card details. It is unfortunate that we have to do that but we have no choice because otherwise we would receive too many fake bookings (mostly for visa purposes) that would prevent from booking people who are really willing to come. Regarding the cancellation, as we sent you the proof several times, we did released the pre-authorization as soon as we received it. The delay for acting on the release depending on the bank, it is not fair to hold us accountable for it. We hope that everything is back in order for you now and that you found an hotel where you'll spend a good stay.

Buffet breakfast is not automatically included in our room rate, but for example on our official website we do have special offers including buffet breakfast served from 06:30 am to 10:30 am (11:30 am on the week end).
