We stayed here for two nights in December, right after the stressful Eurostar strike resolved and we were luckily able to make it to Paris from London. This hotel was very accommodating as I had called the night before to ask them to hold the room in case we had to find other means of getting to Paris. When we arrived at the hotel, the daytime receptionist was very sympathetic with our situation of getting ripped off by the taxi drivers at the train station. She gave us helpful tips and advice for getting around Paris. We were a few hours early before check in but our room was ready after a few minutes’ wait in the lounge area. Our room was very clean, and we had searched every nook and cranny for signs of bed bugs and there were none! The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was an adequate size. The view off the balcony was like the movies and gave European vibes. We had an early check out and the nighttime receptionist was so nice as to help us reserve a taxi to the train station. Overall, we loved our stay in this hotel and would highly recommend it!

Great hotel within walking distance of Gare du Nord. Really welcoming staff and good room. Location was everything and we were able to explore Paris on foot really easily from here. It was also really handily situations close to a couple of metro stations for us to get to Gare de Lyon to catch our onward trains. Hotel lift is a bit of an old fashioned one but it worked fine and was safe. Room was big and comfortable and the windows opened to give a lovely view on the street below.

Stayed here for 2 nights to explore Paris.
We were extremely pleased with our choice of hotel. It was less than 10 mins walk from Gare du Nord Eurostar station and restaurants nearby and we walked to all the sights from the hotel.
Rooms clean and staff very nice and helpful.
Could leave luggage at hotel on last day which was amazing.
We would stay there again as it's a good find.
Our request for a room on top floor was given to us and we had a great room.

The hotel is a lot run down, particularly the entrance. Breakfast is poor, with low quality food. The showers have either a partial door or none, means that the small bathroom gets flooded. Had to ask to have enough shampoo, as they provided a small bottle for 3! Staff a mix of pleasant and rude people.
Great location.
Think for the same price, can find a better option, and I will do this next time.

I found this hotel in Booking and I phoned them to make sure that the information in Booking that says they admit animals is correct. The woman who answered the phone was very rude and repeated lots of times that they DON'T accept dogs, when I was just trying to tell her that they should tell Booking about it. Clearly she didn't speak english and she was treating me like if I was dumb. I would never go there, with or without my dog.

Dear Olwis , I am very surprised to read your comment and I think you mixed up the hotels. We are a group of four hotels and the Résidence du Pré is the only one accepting animals with open arms and paws. I sincerely assume that you contacted one of the others hotels. In fact they do not accept animals. We would be really pleased to welcome your furried friend and yourself. With kind regards

My wife and I have stayed in this hotel twice. We select this hotel because it has a good price and a good location for people travelling in and out of Gare du Nord and going to the Stade de France. The neighborhood is not the best, but it is convenient with the metro very close as well. The people at the front desk were friendly and helpful for the most part, especially the late night workers. We arrived much later than expected and this was not a problem. The rooms themselves are adequate and what you would expect for a relatively inexpensive hotel in paris.

The problem with this hotel and our room is that WE ARE CONFIDENT THAT WE LEFT THERE WITH BEDBUG BITES. We have some experience with these miserable creatures and know how to spot the warning signs. We both had bites that showed up a few days after we left the hotel. We also found small blood stains on the sheets in the mornings. We checked the room and there was no obvious sign of infestation and we were very careful with our clothes. For most of the time we were speculating that there was a problem but on the final day we woke up at 5am to catch and early train and there was a live, large (well-fed-looking) bedbug crawling on the wall right next to the bed. This, of course, makes us very sure that the hotel does have bedbugs.

Please be very careful staying here. It is a shame to have to report this about the hotel, but its the truth. For anyone who does not have experience with these insects, you are lucky. Please believe me that you don't want them hitching a ride home with you.

My wife and I, along with our 17-year-old daughter, stayed at the Residence du Pre for a week in April 2017 and very much enjoyed our stay there.

The hotel staff was exceptional—they were professional, friendly, helpful, and made us feel very welcome. All the front desk staff speaks English very well, which was helpful as we only speak a little French.

The hotel is conveniently close to two metro stations. We usually used the Cadet station when headed to central Paris, but also occasionally used the Poissonnière station. We always felt safe walking between the metro stations and the hotel, even when we were getting back after dark.

The hotel breakfast is very good and well worth the 7€ price per person. On days we had the hotel breakfast we felt we could get by until dinner with only an afternoon snack in between. The breakfast has a nice variety of pastries, breads, meats, cheeses, yogurt, cereal, juices, coffee, teas, and hot chocolate. We did feel the breakfast would benefit from the addition of fresh fruit.

The rooms are on the smaller size, but are clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and modern, but our shower stall didn't have a curtain and it was difficult to keep the floor from getting wet. The wi-fi always worked well.

There's a park nearby and many cafes, restaurants, bakeries, fresh produce shops, and small grocery stores within 3 minute walks from the hotel.

We would definitely stay at Residence du Pre again.

Dear Ben A, I am delighted to see you had a great experience while staying in our hotel la Résidence du Pré. I am glad to see you enjoyed, the cleanliness of your room, the breakfast and the neighborhood of the hotel. You pinpointed the lack of curtain in the shower, this is a decision I have due to hygiene reason. Hygiene in the bathroom is really important for every client, and having no curtain allows us to clean them very effectively every day. I will share your satisfaction with the entire staff, I am sure they will love to read your comment. I am looking forward to welcoming you once again in our hotel. I wish you a pleasant day, and remain at your service. With kind regards

I won't tell you that Paris is lovely, becouse it is and you know that. But I will tell you that our second time in Paris (2007-2008), we stayed in this hotel and we found it really nice, according to the room price.

Breakfast was plentifull and good. The staff was ok, helpful. There was one receptionist who tried to make us speak French, not English, once he knew that we know a few words.

The best thing about this hotel is the location, near the Opera, you cand just walk up to LaFayette.

Quite excellent! And the concierge was very interested in my having a pleasant stay... Bathroom imaculate, fresh air through large window. 100 steps from major Metro line #7 and sweet city plaza square Montholon Plaza on corner. Everything was excellent and safe. Had 24 hour concierge coverage and a nice elevator with lots of light and bright ... all you can hope for. You can lock up your extra cash in the hotel safe-- your traveling papers, etc... you are actually encouraged to do so even though the area was extremely safe and friendly. Lots of cafes and eating establishments within one block. All in all it was a most marvelous choice... the other 3 du Pre "chain" of sweet hotels visible nearby incase any one of the 4 are booked, try one of the other three. Grocery store within one block which came in handy and this street, Rue Pierre Semard, has an bridge that goes across above the street so that you can always just look for that cross bridge to tell you your hotel is right there. I used that as a visual to find my way back from the Metro station. All in all excellent, excellent. If you come in from CDG airport... take the RER to Gare du Nord and when you get off it is three blocks south to the hotel. And... on the way...near Gare du Nord check out a pastry shop called Pastrie Naturale on the street in front of the BIG CLOCK... (has the word naturalle in the sign)... as you walk those three block they do a good delicious everything at low prices. Remember to get your money-EUROs in your home town because if you start changing your money near the Louvre or other famous sites, it is major mark-up penalty. There are places with no service charge (found one near L'Opera) on changing your money, so look for them... ALL IN ALL...WONDERFUL STAY...If I were to come again, I would choose this hotel. I cannot recommend it more highly. Choose a hotel with the name "du Pre" in it especially if you are traveling as a single person.
