The original palace hotel in the heart of historic Paris on rue de Rivoli, Le Meurice is the very epitome of quiet elegance, the ultimate in the French art of living and alive with the artist's soul of wit and magic. It is an inspirational and fascinating place where 18th-century splendour and the most innovative modern comforts sit happily side by side. So much more than a luxury hotel, this is a gallery, an adventure, a living work of art.

We spent one night at this 5 star hotel and it was a very nice experience. The hotel is old school and quite ornate in a lavish way. The bar serves very good drinks in a clubby atmosphere and breakfast was delicious. Our superior room was not large with a king sized bed, 2 night stands, a desk with chair and two chairs and a small table. There was a little hall entry area and a very well equipped bathroom with shower (great fixture), separate bathtub, a separate toilet, and 2 sinks. It was so nice having a hand towel rack with special hand towels. All plugs are international plugs and the room is well lit. Each nightstand has controls at bedside of lights in the room, charger, telephone, reading light and night light. This room is very high tech…in fact we couldn’t figure out how to turn off the tv. The only improvement I would suggest is a lighter blanket insert or a top sheet as well as duvet because it can get quite warm when you sleep at night. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I had stayed several times at Le Meurice over the years and always felt that no other Palace in Paris (except maybe Le Bristol, more recently) came close to the best location and a true, classy Luxury establishment.
After arriving from Israel, we checked-in for 2 nights before heading to our little gastronomy tour across France. From the very elegant and efficient valet team to front desk /check-in and getting to our room, everything was handled perfectly, the room with view over the Tuileries was as booked and a personal welcome note, flowers and gift were awaiting. The concierge Bertrand was very helpful and room service as well as cleaning were excellent.
Our stay was great albeit short and we only got to enjoy the bar, as we had before, with a couple of Parisian friends who met us there. The restaurant seemed as beautiful as the last time we dined but we had too many plans across town to squeeze a dinner. And I hated that we didn't get to taste one of the pastries of the talented Resident Pastry chef Cedric Grolet....!
I had soon the opportunity to be greeted by the GM, Franka, as well as the main managers who each introduced themselves and were ready to assist in any way possible. One of the signs of great Leadership is always how a team of managers and client facing employees handle themselves and address questions: in this hotel, you can tell that the GM has empowered them to perform at their best level and lets them shine while she, rather reserved, stays in the background and available if necessary: it is a rare quality of a true , humble and effective Leader that should be celebrated, especially in a Parisian palace where GM can sometimes act like “in your face” King/Queens of the castle 
Bravo Franka Holtman and thank you for making this stay as great as possible, this is why we will always return to Le Meurice, an institution that , over the years, stays true to its standard and roots.
When in doubt when it come to choosing a great palace in Paris, go for Le Meurice that will always deliver.
The one thing I would note as a possible improvement is that maybe the bar and lounge areas are a bit small for an hotel of that caliber: I know that real estate in this block is challenging but having more areas where guests can mingle and enjoy the atmosphere of this exquisite place would probably allow a higher level and sense of hospitality for the guests and their party…Maybe something that The Dorchester group can consider and could afford, even in this in-demand rue de Rivoli location 

So many positive reviews here and I struggle with how to provide new information other than to validate these experiences. I tend to contact the concierge desk some months before arrival to get tickets or restaurant bookings and this was no exception. The Concierge desk was prompt and so helpful. I'd like to especially recognize Astrid. She is lovely and fortunately on duty for much of or New Year's Eve celebration stay.
We were warmly greeted by Manon at the font desk. Our room was ready and was upgraded and she personally escorted us up.
The room was exceptional and that bed!
Also at check in one of the customer experience personnel - Gabriel - introduced himself and gave us his card - same when we left when Florence took a moment to say goodbye. These are all touches that make a guest feel so welcomed!
The room service was yummy. We did not try the restaurant but will next time. The Bar of course is phenomenal and the only down side was that the lovely older gentleman (bartender) from when we stopped din for drinks last May has since retired. There was one brief snafu on Dec 30th when we were asked to wait (we were there for a nightcap) and it seemed we were somewhat forgotten about in the lounge area adjacent tot he bar. Really that would be my only criticism. Actually the other one was that the unpacking service was not what one would expect.
I do recommend having the John Lobb special shoe service. It's 25 euro but well worth it!
I can't recommend Le Meurice enough.

A great location with some amazing views, but nothing to compare with Plaza Athénée. Feels more like a regular overpriced hotel, where you are just a nameless guest, we’ve been even asked once by the doorman if he can “help us”, as in “wtf are you doing here?”, as we were entering the hotel, this would’ve never happened at the Plaza.
Upon the checkout, the lady at the reception ended up blocking my card by charging me twice due to her lack of knowledge of the hotel’s system. She kept insisting that she is right instead of apologizing, until one of her colleagues showed her how to confirm a pre-authorization, but it was too late and my card got blocked till the end of November.
A huge inconvenience.
We’ve booked the “Chef’s Table” at Alain Ducasse restaurant for one of the dinners, where we got to sit in a private room overlooking the kitchen, while the overall experience was great, the food was not amazing for a 2 star restaurant, but it was very good.
The breakfast was mediocre at €62.

To sum up - an overpriced place in a great but severely overcrowded location with some excellent views, but not recommended for romantic trips for young couples. Do yourself a favor and book at the Plaza.
The team at Le Meurice, please learn from your sister hotel.

My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting Paris for our 20th Wedding Anniversary, and we couldn't have asked for a more desirable hotel. Our room was beautifully decorated, comfortable and quiet and immaculately clean. The staff at the hotel is courteous and professional and very friendly. Everyone speaks English. The hotel itself is exceptionally elegant and historically rich. Breakfast was delicious, served daily from 7 to 11 am in one of the first floor rooms. And evenings at the hotel are extremely pleasant. The bar is gorgeous, and there was live music every night. The Louvre is a mere five minutes walk away from the hotel, and next door is one of the finest bookshops in Paris. In short, our four days stay at Le Meurice surpassed all of our expectations.

I’m very disappointed with the interior of the room, we saw the pictures on booking.com and google maps and it looked 100% different and lower grade although it's a Dorchester hotel one of the top hotel chains. The room is not convenient at all there’s no mirror in the room not even a space to plug your phone to charge it they got us an old fashion extension to plug it in the closet so we can charge our phones. We paid this amount of money for nothing, although we stayed in the ritz and everything was 100% amazing! Historically the ritz is way older than le Meurice yet they changed a lot of things to make their clients happy and comfortable.

Covid has prevented us from travelling abroad so we have experienced staycations at Palace for the last year and a half now.
Hotel le Meurice has been the last one tried and really gave us that feeling of "a home away from home".
Of course, its challenging for them because of Covid and having to adapt to new ways of service. But they have a very well trained staff that do a fantastic job.

we chose the Executive room with balconies overlooking the Tuileries garden on the 6th floor...its just amazing, being able to see paris from above like that from sunrise to sunset, is unbelievable, even when u do live in paris.
enjoying champagne on your balcony with such view is a treat we should all enjoy.
the room is beautifully decorated, there is a huge bathroom and all amenities you need.

the service is perfect, whatever you need will be brought to you in a heartbeat as everyone there is eager to make you happy.
The food is incredible even served in room service. but the real deal, are the desserts from Cedric Grolet, one has to try them all because they are all dying for!

we have enjoyed every second of our trips there, and are very happy to be back soon.
we can't thank them all, but every single person we interacted with during our times there were professional, nice, caring. Special thanks to Julie (guest relation manager) who goes beyond what's expected to make the guests happy .

My wife and I just returned from a one-week stay at Le Meurice in celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary. The hotel itself is a work of art with beautifully decorated interior spaces, but it was the service and professionalism of the staff that was truly noteworthy. From the front desk staff to the concierge service to the staff in the bar and restaurant, we were always treated kindly and with utmost professionalism.
We were also impressed with the efforts of the director of front of house services and guest relations, Francois, who personally greeted us when we checked in. Due to an early arrival, our room was not quite ready but Francois arranged another room for us to have access to so that we could relax and freshen up after a long flight, which was greatly appreciated. When our actual room was ready (Executive Park View with Balcony) we couldn’t have been more pleased. Beautiful room with sweeping views of Paris, including the Eiffel Tower. There were also fresh flowers, a bottle of wine and a chocolate cake waiting for us.
We have stayed at other 5 star hotels in Paris and the training the Le Meurice staff have undergone and executed to perfection puts it in a class by itself. As devotees of Paris, we will never consider staying anywhere else in the future.

My husband and I stayed at Le Meurice for 5 nights in August.

Hotel is located in the heart of Paris with most sights and restaurants within a walking distance.
Louvre is only 5 mins walk away and famous Angelina cafe frequented by Coco Chanel is right next door.

We arrived early afternoon and our room was ready. We were also upgraded on arrival to a delux room on the third floor. The room was well appointed and hotel left us lovely wedding anniversary gifts of chocolate cake and a defuser.

We had breakfast included in our rate, and during August, it was hosted at Alain Ducasse’s Michelin restaurant.
Food was exceptional with a choice of a la carte dishes such as eggs cooked to order, pancakes, French toast, salads, charcuterie and pastries.

We had lunch at Le Dali our first afternoon and it was one of our favourite meals in Paris.

We used hotel spa twice during our stay and it was very good. It was a nice way to relax after full day of sightseeing.

Overall we had a wonderful stay at Le Meurice and will definitely be back when in Paris.

The service is truly first rate and immediate at all levels. However, for the ultra luxury price , this is a huge letdown. The place feels sterile and cold. The restaurant is the main common space with lobby being a side show akin to an uninviting airport lounge. Remarkably, the food -room service and breakfast — are marginal to bad. Even breakfast breads are substandard. This is quite a shock for a hotel whose restaurant is supposed to be a destination. The hotel is dated. Rooms feel stale and furniture is old. They are ill equipped for the computer age with insufficient outlets. Will not return. For their prices there are numerous better alternatives that are true luxury and perfection in all areas.

Stayed at both. Le Bristol scores on the grandeur factor, has a swimming pool and has more rooms facing the Eiffel Tower. But for impeccable service, I would choose Le Meurice anyday. Plus their location is fantastic (bang on Rue de Rivoli - five minutes walk to The Louvre) and their Pastry chef Cedric Grolet’s patisserie offerings are to die for!
