Took my wife to Paris for her 40th and decided that we’d stay somewhere that we normally wouldn’t. PDG has wonderful reviews, and offers a great location. The property is brilliant and guest rooms are very well done. Staff overall is very accommodating as you would expect at this level hotel.

Couple issues we had were housekeeping and service. Twice dirty glasses were left sitting in our room. Also multiple requests for very simple things just weren’t competed. We are not complainers, but what is the point of spending big money on a hotel if it’s not all done perfectly.

Also, while I understand things are expensive at this type of property and Paris in general I take exception to the feeling of being bilked after having paid so much for the stay. To charge €23 for a simple drink and €16 for a bottle of beer is in poor taste.

This hotel is lovely overall, however for the money I’m convinced there are properties that will provide a 5-star experience to match the 5-star rates.

My husband and I just returned home from five nights at the Prince de Galles. I booked on points and used suite nights to upgrade to a king room with a balcony. The point value for the hotel is excellent, and we were treated no differently than if we had paid full price for our stay. Every employee we encountered was friendly, accommodating and efficient. They all spoke very good English, and were all patient with my very poor attempts at French!

While our room wasn’t ready until an hour and a half past check in time, that was the only glitch during our time there. We enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine and ordered a delicious lunch on their beautiful patio. The room assigned to us was worth the wait – a very nice king room on the top floor with a large balcony and a beautifully appointed bathroom with a tub, gorgeous tiled shower, and plenty of storage for our toiletries. We had planned on having a picnic one day in a park, but we changed plans and instead brought cheese, baguettes, fruits, vegetables & nuts, desserts and wine back to the room so we could enjoy it all on our lovely balcony. We also sat out there a couple of times in the evening with a glass of wine.

Breakfast each morning was included with our titanium status, and it was spectacular. In addition to the generous variety of pastries, fruit, meats, cereals, teacakes and juices at the buffet, we could order hot food off the menu. Their scrambled eggs are quite possibly the best we’ve ever had! The staff at breakfast was amazing, and we looked forward to seeing them each morning, almost as much as we looked forward to the wonderful food! They greeted us warmly and remembered our coffee and tea preferences by the second day.

We like to walk and the hotel is well situated for most of the places we went. When we needed a taxi to go longer distances, the valets out front were quick to hail one for us. Housekeeping worked like magic – we almost never saw them, and yet our room was always cleaned and re-stocked when we returned from breakfast, and turned down in the evenings when we came back from dinner.

We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here on our next trip to Paris and have no reservations recommending this gorgeous hotel to anyone traveling to this beautiful city!

We stayed here for 10 days. I cannot say enough about the comfort, elegance, and, especially the service. To start, because we were off-season, we had an upgrade to a suite which meant we had a lot of room to relax. Every step of the way, the service was exemplary: check-in, concierge for dinners, flirty bar staff (lots of fun). Special shouts out to the chamber staff for cleaning up a broken bottle of wine (tipped out when I opened the fridge) and the charming breakfast team who indulged our requests, snuck us some pain perdu to try (oh so addictive), and responded kindly to our halting franglais.

Stayed at this location after having to abandon our "boutique" hotel in the middle of the night due to a plumbing issue. I'm not sure how this hotel never came up in our pre-trip searches but nevertheless it was a great place. The staff was very accommodating with sudden check in. The room was a balcony room. The room as huge for Paris. The bathroom was great. The location was great. My only complaint was the breakfast. The pricing was all over the place. We chose the buffet as we needed a good breakfast for a day of walking. The servers asked us if we wanted anything special made for us like eggs or other and we declined. The buffet was already 87 euros which was nearly extortion level pricing but the menu also had prices for eggs and other stuff. I didn't want to have a $300 breakfast. In the end, we ended up paying 87 euros for what ended up being the same as a 5 euro breakfast at a local coffee shop. I'd say maybe skip breakfast there and go out. Otherwise a good place. Not taking a star as the breakfast was our choice.

Hotel is nice until you get accused of staining the carpet when you did nothing wrong. 3 days into our stay, we get a lovely hand written post card accusing us of staining the carpet for a stain that was already present when we got to the room. Management was very unwilling to accept our side and ended charging $750 for carpet cleaning. The hotels quality control is sub-par if they allow to give a room that has a stained carpet and the worst part is accusing a guest of the damage when we did not do. This hotel should get ZERO STARS for this type of experience. Will never ever stay in this hotel and I recommend that if you do end up staying here, make sure you identify any room damage and bring it to the management attention so they don't end up accusing you of damage and then make you pay for it.

The team at the Prince de Galles in Paris provided my husband and I with a spectacular experience during our 8 night stay in November 2022. Staying in this property may have ruined all future hotel stays for us. As a couple who travels quite a bit, we could tell the bar here is set to, and maintained at, a very high level.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were promptly greeted with a big smile by Lauriane Villate. Laurine has a warth about her that is noticeable before she even speaks. We came to find out she works in the main office and she is only at the hotel lobby for one hour each week. We feel so lucky to have arrived during that hour. Lauriane walked us to the front desk and when she was notified our room was not ready, she accompanied us to the bar for a glass of complimentary champagne. We did not want her to leave us so we stole as much of her time as we could before she had to go back to her duties.

Lauriane left us in the great hands of Paulo, our server at the hotel bar. Paulo is a refined, friendly and poised long time hotel employee whom we quickly got to know as well. We discovered that after 40+ years at Prince de Galles, Paulo was set to retire in a few weeks... I am certain he will be equally missed by the hotel guests and employees alike. Paulo, if you get to read this, enjoy your retirement to the fullest, wishing you many-many games of tennis.

When our room was ready, we were so pleased to have the fantastic Ellis Gutierrez escort us to our room. I had emailed the hotel prior to our arrival and had mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary. When we entered our room (which she had upgraded for us) we were so surprised by seeing our photo in a frame that the staff had planned for us along with a delicious dessert and champagne. Ellis Gutierrez and her team's sweet gestures were really touching, what a lovely way to start our magical time in Paris.

We enjoyed dinner at  Akira Black, the hotel's restaurant, the first night we were there. The food is scrumptious, the decor is classy and the service we received from Yosesein was flawless.

Our stay was during the Thanksgiving Holiday. The staff, knowing we are Americans, had a treat and note for us in our room on Thanksgiving day, so thoughtful.

The housekeeping is meticulous and the room service my husband ordered one evening was very yummy. We never made to breakfast... I blame the amazing bed partially as we never wanted to wake up early enough for it. :)

During our extended stay, we encountered only the best, from the guest relations team prior to our arrival to the lovely front desk team including Rayan, Matthiew and all the others. The bellmen are also very polite and friendly.

The hotel's location is excellent, so close to luxury shops, restaurants, transportation and a very short walk to the Eiffel Tower or to the Arc de Triomphe.

Greatness is a collection of smaller gestures. This is shown in everything the staff at this hotel does. Congratulations to management for putting and keeping together such a strong team.

We booked our first ever stay in Paris at this property and everything from calling with questions to the stay to checking out was perfect! Their customer service is EXCELLENT!!! The staff were all very helpful and spoke great English as well!

The moment our Uber pulled up at the front door, two door staff dressed perfectly, started removing our luggage and another staff member met us at the door to walk us to the check-in counter. Emma, the lady who checked us in was flawless at checking us in! I’ve never experienced such a thorough check-in process, which included describing amenities, the property, welcoming me and acknowledging my status, and then actually taking us up the elevator and to our room to ensure we were happy with the room – This was OUTSTANDING service!!!

The concierge staff is friendly and was very helpful during our stay, providing great suggestions for food and handling other questions we had, such as how to best handle the train we needed to take, etc.

The location of this hotel is perfectly walkable and is an equal distance to the Eiffel Tower or the L'arc de Triomphe. It’s a block from the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. We only needed to use Uber to get to an area a few miles away, but otherwise, we walked everywhere.

The room was very comfortable, perfectly adorned and nicely embellished with great attention to detail… including the mosaic tile in the bathroom! Everything was clean and spotless and stayed that way throughout our stay with housekeeping taking care of it daily and offering turndown service.

Such an excellent stay was had here, we will definitely stay here when returning to Paris!!

From the moment we landed we were taken care of, the hotel arranged for someone to meet us as soon as we deplaned and whisked us through customs. The concierge was very responsive and met every need. Hotel is located in a very beautiful neighborhood with plenty of high end shops and restaurants, a short 15-20 minute walk to Eiffel tower. There is a beautiful terrace you can dine at. Wonderful experience for our first time in Paris, definitely going back.

As a lifetime Titanium Member of the Marriott program I am well familiar with Marriott rules.
Upgrades are based on availability, so I did not get one, even though I was not waiting for a free upgrade, but tried to use suite night upgrades from my Marriott account (were denied). I got the Art Deco room, only the view from my room (see picture) is way different from the view on the PDG website. There is no indication on the PDG website that my room window will look into the narrow shaft with windows on the other side looking straight into my room. This really should be mentioned on the PDG website so that the guests don’t expect the view shown on the PDG website.
I have a “high floor” marked up in my preferences for over 25 years ever since becoming a member of Marriott. But “based on availability”, I got 1st floor room. This combined with the shaft view makes the room quite claustrophobic – in order to see the sky one needs to strain their neck and look up.
Early check-in is available upon request. I informed the hotel 1 week in advance of my arrival at 14:00 (normal check-in is 15:00). I ended up arriving at 15:00 which is hotel’s official check-in time and was informed that my room is not ready. In my vast experience, in those cases when the room is not ready for normal check in, the hotels usually send people to the bar with a drink voucher in hand. But PDG guest services just told us to wait in the lobby. The lobby has 8 chairs, which by that time were filled by about 15 travelers also waiting for their rooms. Very classy indeed.

To my fellow Marriott Bonvoy members – do not waste your money/points on this hotel. You are not going to find recognition of your status or recognition of the money spent to support Marriott over the years.
To PDG management – you should modify the website description for the Art Deco room to describe the “narrow shaft” view and “no privacy” setup and you should include proper pictures (like mine), so people are not deceived by the picture on the website.

Dear jetlaggedinseattle, Thank you for your review posted on TripAdvisor. We do value all guest feedback as it helps us to improve our services. First of all, I regret to read that you encountered some challenges during your stay. Please note that our loyal Bonvoy customers are extremely important to us, however we are going through a very busy period and it is therefore not possible to provide upgrades to all esteemed members at all times as we do not have always the necessary availability. Raving reviews from other loyal Bonvoy guests on this site prove that we gladly provide upgrades whenever these are available. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and It is very disappointing for us to read that we seemed to have missed this important objective in your case. We duly took note of your comment about the view from your room. We regret that for this time we were not able to provide you higher floor room with view, but I can assure you that we do have a range of nice views for our guest rooms to choose from. Should you chose to return to our property please reach out to me directly so that I can make appropriate arrangements for you. Kind regards, Gerald Krischek, General Manager

My husband and I wrapped our 5 week trip to France with a 5 night stay at the Prince de Galles Hotel. It was truly one of the most lovely hotel stays we have ever had. Though our room was not ready when we arrived they apologized and graciously asked us if they could buy us a drink in the bar while we waited. Absolutely! That gave us some time to decompress from our train ride to Paris and plan a bit more what we were going to do over the next few days. Our room was worth the wait as they had decorated the room with rose petals and flowers and left us a lovely dessert and bottle of champagne to acknowledge our wedding anniversary. I had used my Marriott Suite Nights to upgrade our room so we had a stupendous suite with a terrace overlooking the rooftops of Paris. The staff at the hotel were also fantastic. The concierge staff booked reservations for us at the cutest bistros as well as at the Picasso Museum. Also based on a recommendation from the front desk clerk we ate at Akira Back, newly opened in the hotel, and it was delicious! I didn't know I wanted sushi in Paris until I was sitting in Akira Back eating it and it was crazy awesome. The location of this hotel is super convenient as it is close to two Metro stops, numerous shops and restaurants, and a short walk to the Seine and the Eiffel Tower. The staff, the service and the rooms of the Prince de Galles are so wonderful that I can't imagine staying in any other hotel when we have the chance to return to Paris.
