The hotel is stylish and feels very french. All the staff we spoke to were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good, my only criticism was that the hot food (sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs) were always cold or lukewarm. I suspect the hot plate wasn’t working. The croissants and pains au chocolat were lovely. The cheeses and cold meats were also very good. There was orange juice, bottled water and tea/coffee was made to order. A selection of cakes, yoghurts, cereal and fruit finished off the breakfast spread. Overall, it was very nice.
The hotel is less than 5 minutes from the Censier-Daubenton metro station, so getting to all the tourist sites was very easy. Nearby there are cafes and restaurants. Again, less than 5 minutes away is a busy market street, Rue Mouffetard. This is busy with loads of produce sellers, takeaways, cafes and restaurants. It has a local feel and is well worth visiting and great for dinner in the evening.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the Monte Cristo, with its very helpful and pleasant staff and great location it’s an ideal base for a Paris stay.
The hotel location makes getting into the city centre super easy by metro, bike or even a 30min leisurely wall.
Thanks you again to all the staff at the hotel!
2. Room layout, The toilet and bathroom are separate so you have to walk out of the toilet to the bathroom sink to wash your hands.
3. Swimming pool issues, you have to book and it’s always fully booked not available the staff make no effort to manage this well
4. Bad room service, really wanted to use room service but there is only a set menu of 10 plates available with wine, for €70, no possibility to change the plates or choose. Very strange.
5. Noise, the rooms are not sound proof you can hear street noise and the other guests slamming doors and walking around above you, I’m a deep sleeper but was woken several times
6. Poor comfort, the cushions are either very hard or very soft you get one of each and there is not additional cushions available the room, the rest of the bed is ok
7. Connectivity, there’s no speaker, way to connect your phone to the Tv and a limited number of channels all in French
For the reasons above I was very disappointed with this hotel
Highly recommended to book directly with the hotel to catch the best deals. Hotel restaurant is very exclusive and also bar 1802 is the biggest Rhum club in France where you can find so many selections of distilled Rhum from every part of the world, enjoy the so many cocktails or simply go for tasting. Exclusive 5-7 pm happy hour only for guests of the hotel.
Lovely SPA open until 2 pm and you can book private slot of 45 mins, it is very rare to find all the right things in one hotel in Paris and still being able to afford it.
Staff deserve a big thumbs up as they said yes to all our requests and they made us feel as royalty. They really made it look so easy to look after us.
This place is a 4 star hotel but for us it really shows a bit more quality than that.
We would have loved simply the pool water to be warmer but in the general count of things this is not a big deal.
Excellent breakfast which for hotel in Paris is absolutely amazing. We booked superior room with a last minute non-refundable deal. Next time I will book the same room but to have also the balcony on the main room. Very peaceful neighbourhood and still close to beautiful landmarks.
A very romantic getaway. Thanks 🙏
Silvia
Only negative was having to wait a short time for our room to be ready, being offered a coffee for the inconvenience then being handed the bill for said coffee, as check in was delayed it would have been good service to offer the drinks as complimentary.
A great hotel and already looking to return in Summer.
"As much as it’s nice to have a balcony the view isn’t very nice and the room is tiny so I’d just opt for a bigger room without a balcony"Read full review

"Make sure to try the pool out ! It’s very close to a metro so easy to get around but walking is the perfect way to see the area to be honest"Read full review
