We stayed at the Montecristo for 4 nights in February. We had a deluxe room which for Paris was a decent size. The separate bathroom was a good size too. The room had a safe whilst a hairdryer was also provided but there was no mini fridge. The rooms was air conditioned.

The hotel is stylish and feels very french. All the staff we spoke to were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good, my only criticism was that the hot food (sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs) were always cold or lukewarm. I suspect the hot plate wasn’t working. The croissants and pains au chocolat were lovely. The cheeses and cold meats were also very good. There was orange juice, bottled water and tea/coffee was made to order. A selection of cakes, yoghurts, cereal and fruit finished off the breakfast spread. Overall, it was very nice.

The hotel is less than 5 minutes from the Censier-Daubenton metro station, so getting to all the tourist sites was very easy. Nearby there are cafes and restaurants. Again, less than 5 minutes away is a busy market street, Rue Mouffetard. This is busy with loads of produce sellers, takeaways, cafes and restaurants. It has a local feel and is well worth visiting and great for dinner in the evening.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the Monte Cristo, with its very helpful and pleasant staff and great location it’s an ideal base for a Paris stay.

My fiancé and I got engaged in Paris and stayed at Hotel Monte Cristo. We have returned a year later and have not been let down. This hotel is the very best and the staff are supper friendly! We stayed in the suite Edmond which comes with a steam room built into the bathroom. We used this every morning and night as it heats up super quickly!
The hotel location makes getting into the city centre super easy by metro, bike or even a 30min leisurely wall.

Thanks you again to all the staff at the hotel!

Nicely decorated hotel in a quiet street a few steps from the charming and one of the oldest streets in Paris: rue Mouffetard. We had a superior room which was on the small size, but with a very comfortable bathroom. For a four-star, I find this hotel very limited in added value for guests. Service at the front desk was lukewarm, some people who showed up after us were given a room before us. The person who checked us in did not really take time to go over what the hotel has to offer (e.g., the swimming pool). There was nothing offered in the lobby like other hotels in this category (free tea/coffee), and breakfast was below expectations. The hotel overall has some nice details but it was more in the decoration rather than real value that could add to the comfort of guests.

1. Small room, we booked a superior room - it’s very small (you can’t put your suitcase down anywhere other than the bed).
2. Room layout, The toilet and bathroom are separate so you have to walk out of the toilet to the bathroom sink to wash your hands.
3. Swimming pool issues, you have to book and it’s always fully booked not available the staff make no effort to manage this well
4. Bad room service, really wanted to use room service but there is only a set menu of 10 plates available with wine, for €70, no possibility to change the plates or choose. Very strange.
5. Noise, the rooms are not sound proof you can hear street noise and the other guests slamming doors and walking around above you, I’m a deep sleeper but was woken several times
6. Poor comfort, the cushions are either very hard or very soft you get one of each and there is not additional cushions available the room, the rest of the bed is ok
7. Connectivity, there’s no speaker, way to connect your phone to the Tv and a limited number of channels all in French

For the reasons above I was very disappointed with this hotel

Recently returned from a wonderful visit to paris, stayed at the monte cristo hotel. Arrived around 12pm, no queue so greeted by a lovely pleasant young lady that informed us our room would not quite be ready until 2ish which is never a problem having experienced this many times before, but then to be offered an identical room that was ready for 70 euros extra seemed slightly insulting for a first impression of a hotel priced at 250 euro plus a night. We declined the offer and had a stroll around the local area (latin quarter) stumbling on the pantheon after 15 mins. Returning to the hotel around 3pm we were greeted by the same young lady and informed of all the hotels amenities and breakfast times, the room was just fantastic very chic and parisian exactly what we were after. Breakfast the next morning (7am-10am) was nothing less than marvellous something for everyone from smoked salmon scrambled eggs, cereal, freshly baked pastries yoghurt, fruit salad, assorted hams and cheeses and more. After a full day sightseeing we returned to the hotel to visit the pool and sauna (45 mins free each day or night depending on your room tarrif) a superb addition that not many central paris hotels offer and so relaxing. The next few days we experienced nothing but 1st class hospitality friendly faces with any questions or queries answered and resolved immediately, to finish not on a bad note i personally had an important birthday during our stay which was not picked up by any member of staff, its the small things that guarantee future bookings not chasing a few euros. Thanks to all the staff that made our stay so memorable well done best wishes gary and sarah x ps pls give the rum bar a try during happy hour great cocktails.

this quiet hotel has very helpful staff and excellent beds. Unfortunately the rooms (we had the upgraded boudoir room) are very small and their are very limited interesting food or small owner run shops in this area. The bar is limited to rum based drinks or house wine. For the price it is on the expensive side... unless you like rum and dont plan to spend any time in your room.

Dear Paul T, Thank you for sharing your experience. First of all, we are glad to read that our staff lived up to your expectations during your stay with us. Nevertheless we are sorry to find out that you did not appreciate your room, neither the Bar concept. Due to very old parisian architecture, our boudoir rooms has the standard size for the city. The Rum bar has more than 500 different rum references, and our barmans are always glad to make you discover various tastes. We are located 3 minutes away from the mouffetard street, which is full of restaurants, bars and shops. Our front desk team could have helped you with recommandations. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you back at the hotel Monte Cristo in order to introduce you to our bigger rooms, they might suit you better. Best Regards, Virginie BESNARD

My partner and I had such a beautiful weekend and Hotel Monte Cristo really exceeded our expectations. This place is all about the details and they know how to make you feel at home without renouncing to touches of luxury.
Highly recommended to book directly with the hotel to catch the best deals. Hotel restaurant is very exclusive and also bar 1802 is the biggest Rhum club in France where you can find so many selections of distilled Rhum from every part of the world, enjoy the so many cocktails or simply go for tasting. Exclusive 5-7 pm happy hour only for guests of the hotel.
Lovely SPA open until 2 pm and you can book private slot of 45 mins, it is very rare to find all the right things in one hotel in Paris and still being able to afford it.
Staff deserve a big thumbs up as they said yes to all our requests and they made us feel as royalty. They really made it look so easy to look after us.
This place is a 4 star hotel but for us it really shows a bit more quality than that.
We would have loved simply the pool water to be warmer but in the general count of things this is not a big deal.
Excellent breakfast which for hotel in Paris is absolutely amazing. We booked superior room with a last minute non-refundable deal. Next time I will book the same room but to have also the balcony on the main room. Very peaceful neighbourhood and still close to beautiful landmarks.
A very romantic getaway. Thanks 🙏
Silvia

What a lovely hotel in a well located area! The perfect blend of parisian charm and modern utilities. The Nespresso in the room was a nice touch and the breakfast was variate and delicious. If you're looking for reliving the athmosfere of Paris from the 19th century and still benefit from high class modern utilies this is the place to be.

This little boutique hotel was in really nice area and only a few minutes to a metro station. The rooms were very well decorated and very Paris we loved it. As a bonus it had a rum bar that will make you a drink to you liking, it’s a little expensive but worth at least one drink c’mon your in Paris! Overall very good hotel

Stayed at the hotel for two nights with my friends and was delighted with our visit. The staff are so helpful the hotel is clean and stylish in a great location.
Only negative was having to wait a short time for our room to be ready, being offered a coffee for the inconvenience then being handed the bill for said coffee, as check in was delayed it would have been good service to offer the drinks as complimentary.
A great hotel and already looking to return in Summer.
