Detailed Reviews
This hotel deserves a 5 review.
Once you find it and get parked.
Being right opposite the main train station there are a lot of people wanting to park all day so it is extremely difficult.
After 1900 is a good time to try because people are going home and freeing up spaces, I was lucky enough to find one just up the road as someone left it.
This was 1850 and after 1900 parking in these bays are free, so for 1€ I parked all night.
On to the best bits, staff reception, room were all very good, location was ideal loads of restaurants you can walk to and all for 40€ so I left in the morning feeling extremely pleased with my stay. Shame about the parking.
And yes my Labrador stayed too.

It took me a few minutes to locate the hotel, despite the fact that it is very close to the main railway station. When I arrived, late at night, they had run out of key cards so the receptionist had to escort me up to my room. I didn't mind, and I got my card in the morning, but should something like that really happen? The room was small but clean and suited my needs. Breakfast was very simple, to say the least, and could definitely be improved, especially the choice of bread and cereals. And If I stay another time, I hope they have plates :)

After an experience at the Ibis hotel in Prague, where hospitality was definitely not the highlight, I decided to try again in Bordeaux. The professional but not empathetic staff, attentive but not to all difficulties such as language, precise but hasty. The exception was Marie who was even the only one who noticed that I paid 3 extra breakfasts and returned the money ...
The room small but functional, quiet and clean. Hearty breakfast and well served. Strategic location to take transport So, recommended structure but it would be perfect if only there were "more" Marie...

We used this hotel as an overnight stay for onward travel to Toulouse. I chose it because I've stayed here before. It's centrally located for the main station, trams and buses with decent bars, cafes & restaurants locally.
Each room fits 3 adults with an unusual arrangement of a bunk bed above either a double of twin arrangement. The shower is a pod type affair but works well and the rook has a separate toilet.
Breakfast is a typical continental affair and is perfectly adequate.
All in all this hotel offers exceptional value.

We booked two nights, from 17 to 19 of June, in Bordeaux and when we arrived there was no one at the front desk to check us in. We had to wait for while, we also had to work, so it was a big issue for us to have to wait that long. Finally, after we checked in, we found out the air conditioner was broken for the entire building, except for the reception for some reason. When we went down to inquire, the receptionist said it was going to be fixed but that she couldn't make any promises - it's literally 40 degrees Celsius in Bordeaux.
So we can't work and cant sleep in this conditions, and had to find another place last minute, which cost us a lot more than what he had planned for our stay.
When we came back to talk to the manager next Monday (when he supposed to be working), he wasn't there. And we found out that our reservation was not cancelled. And employee told us that this is very strange and if the other person would cancel it we would get our money back. And we were advised to send email, which we did, numerous times, we called but it has been already almost 4 month and no one replied.
Never seen such ridiculous service in my life, we still didn't get refund and still could not contact a manager. What kind of hotel it is that stuff blames everything on a manager that is never there?

It’s called Budget for a reason. Visited for the Rugby World Cup. Shared a twin room with another fan who thankfully was a mate, or it could have been a bit awkward squeezing round the bedroom furniture and sharing the facilities. Good point - fresh towels every day. Bad point - they were only slightly bigger than tea towels. Clean but not very comfortable bed with highly mobile mattress topper and the worst pillow in the world. Weak and cramped shower with a wall mounting which fell off. Air con? Not working initially and not exactly arctic after we complained. Repaired promptly however. Everything cheap when it was new and it isn’t new any more.
Breakfast also basic and self service / self clearing. Same every day. Staff tried hard, though.
Summary - served a purpose but wouldn’t use it again despite it’s convenient location. OK for a couple of days but you’ll need to set a low bar to avoid being disappointed.

Location close to the old town is very good. The room is functionally furnished. The toilet and shower are separate. Unfortunately, there was a very unpleasant smell in the toilet all the time. Underground parking is available for an additional charge. Small breakfast buffet. Shopping facilities are in the immediate vicinity.

I've stayed in ibis hotels before and generally been impressed for the price. Sadly though this one fell well bellow par. We stayed during the heatwave in the middle of June and the air-conditioning stopped working, supposedly in the whole hotel. We weren't told about this when we checked in, so we dropped our bags off and were out of the room within a few minutes. When we got back late in the evening the heat was unbearable, it must have been 40 degrees in the room We were hoping for a good night's sleep after being up early for a flight but no such luck. We were given an email address by the friendly staff to contact about this afterward. Having written to that email address and to Accor we have received no reply. And so I must warn visitors that you will boil alive in your room.
