Detailed Reviews
Stayed here for one night for a stopover en route to Spain.
The hotel is in a very run down area down a derelict side street. You have to ring a bell to get inside and there's only one receptionist working. Our door would not lock so we got given a different room but the bathroom smelled very badly of drains so had to keep the door shut.
The hotel has a snack menu and due to arriving late we couldn't get anywhere to eat as all places either bars full of students or run down kebab houses, along with super expensive restaurants where nobody wanted to go. The hotel menu consisted of various hot snacks but we were told only pizza was available. Very pricey and undercooked, very disappointing.
Room had one coffee sachet and one tea bag for two people, no water.
Breakfast very expensive but varied and tasty. Wouldn't go again it's in a horrible area.

Hi Jandiherts, We are very sorry to read your feedback. Some of the points you mentioned could be for our hotel, but a lot of them don't actually sound familiar for us... for exemple we are not in a side street but really in front of the train station. We never had problems with doors not locking and we sold pizzas until september 2022 then we stopped. Did you come before september 2022? This really surprises me that we only proposed pizzas and anything else. In our rooms you always have 2 coffees, 2 teas and 2 bottles of water. I ask you to check if you really were in our hotel and to please tell us then the date because we are a little perplexe about this comment :) Best regards,

Pros - great location next to train station, trams and airport bus
Great service from the front desk, helpful and friendly.
Cons - the carpet is badly stained in the bedroom and I hated being barefoot in the room.
Housekeeping - the beds are “tidied” and not made properly.
The toilet needs to be cleaned properly, it was stained.
The curtains have come out of their hooks so it’s messy when you walk in.
For the price I paid, I was expecting a higher standard as the photos look amazing on the site.
I don’t think I would stay there again.

A very nice little hotel near Bordeaux train station.
I received a very friendly welcome and immediately felt at home. My room was on the 3rd floor, with a lovely view of the courtyard. The room was as described, the bathroom was clean and modern, the bed was very comfortable. Adequate and very good for a short trip.
The breakfast is very tasty, lovely tasty little things with cheese, ham and baguettes, plus eggs, cereal and yoghurt.
Someone was always available and if you felt like having a snack at night, someone was ready to help straight away. The connection to tram, bus and SNCF is great, you can be in the city center in 5 minutes. And they are also happy to help you find the right train.
Thank you very much to the whole team 😘

Above and beyond service,
an incredible breakfast buffet, and stunning views of the beautiful Gare Saint Jean can all be found at Hotel BDX. This is an incredible value. I will be returning if I have the opportunity. I felt so welcome! There is also a wonderful patio in the rear courtyard.

The location of this place is probably its best feature, right across from Gare Saint-Jean. You can walk to local restaurants and bars as well. The staff were friendly and breakfast was fine but it has a downstairss bar come gambling place which gets quite rowdy and the waft of cannabis plus arguing entered our room during the night. This affected our sleep quality which was why I only gave it three stars. The location however, is hard to beat.

We stopped for breakfast before our train. Very friendly welcome, smiling. Breakfast was delicious, fresh homemade juice, small pastries all on a board. We recommend if you want to have breakfast one morning towards Saint Jean station.

Location is OK - but knew that it would be a little distant from centre (its okay if you like walking - if not the tram stop is close by). Room was dated - smelt of damp. Was SO much smaller than anticipated. Stains on floor and mirror was not cleaned properly. Bed was low but pretty comfortable. NO AIR CON! but an annoying noisy fan was in the room.

Hi Aneesh! Thanks for leaving a feedback on Tripadvisor too :) We are really sorry that your stay was not satisfying. You had a nice room with balcony, we don't have air conditioning, that is in fact not mentioned when you reserve the room, it is necessary to check, if you judge that this aspect is fundamental to you. If the fan is noisy we can change it, you should have told us BEFORE departure so that we could have solved the problem. Claudia

Does the job, well located near the tram and restaurants, clean and well appointed rooms. Be careful for people with mobility difficulties, there is no elevator. Early check-in for a fee, and room not ready on time.

+1
Great location, good value for money, it's clean and the night was quiet (my window overlooked the back so not facing the station).
No air conditioning which is a shame because that night it was hot, the room was however equipped with a fan which I did not use; I preferred to sleep with the window open.
The breakfast is not bad frankly, no photos available because I was not alone at the buffet.
The point that I will remember the most and which tilted the opinion to excellent is the friendliness of the staff, Team afternoon, night and morning really very pleasant. This kind of detail that (me) pleases!

The hotel is directly opposite the main railway station and there are several restaurants nearby, and shops not far away. The light rail is also directly out the front to take you into Bordeaux's city centre; it's also within walking distance. On our arrival, we were greeted by two great young guys who took our luggage up two flights of stairs to our room - the only one with a balcony! Nothing was too much for the staff, including finding us two wineglasses so we could enjoy a nice bottle of French wine on our balcony. A comfy bed and not too noisy, even though the hotel is located in a busy area. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room and the bathroom has all the necessities. A thoroughly delightful stay.
