Detailed Reviews
The atmosphere, decor, and especially the staff are so fun here! Hotel has good food, a nice variety of drinks, and of course the rooms were clean. Location is 2 blocks from the main pedestrian streets and within walking distance to SOOOO many places. It is a ped only area, so arriving by taxi is no issue, and there is probably parking close by. I mention only as a awareness. Love love love this place and will definitely go back while in Bordeaux!

Thank you Mama Shelter Bordeaux for a great 3 nights stay in Bordeaux. We loved your hotel. The location is ideal and very central to almost all tourists spots. The hotel has a nice room, very eco friendly with great mood lighting. The room was spacious and had more than enough space for 2 people. We stayed on level 1 so didnt have much of a view but there was the rooftop bar and restaurant which had amazing views and food. The staff were all friendly and everyone we interacted have a big smile on their face.
We had breakfast once and enjoyed it, the restaurant downstairs feels underrated and could be utilised more. We also enjoyed the nice touches of ping pong games area although i probably would prefer it to be a gym instead
We only encountered 1 hiccup during our stay which was the time we checked out. As our flight was at 7am we booked a taxi the day before for 5am through the front desk. Exactly at 459am when we came down to the lobby, it seems the front desk in the morning wasnt aware we had booked a taxi so instead of waiting for us, they let the taxi go. When the guy realised it was for us he tried to run for the taxi but it had already left. We ended up waiting for another 20 minutes before anoter taxi arrived which left us a bit stressed and unsure if the delay would be compounded at the airport (it didnt so we were lucky that we booked the taxi early enough to buffer potential delays)
So this was unfortunate but i was confused why the front desk would just let go of a taxi without at least waiting for a bit longer OR why there was no communication noted that we booked a taxi. Hopefully this wont happen again to other guests
on a side note: the hotel room comes with free porn! so just be aware to avoid potential awkwardness if you are not travelling alone :-)

Very nice home. Hotel with an atypical style. Nice atmosphere in the evening with DJ. Very complete, diverse and fresh breakfast. The staff are adorable and caring. Functional room, clean with its touch of originality. The hotel has parking charged at 20 eur, this hotel is in a pedestrian zone, close to rue Ste Catherine 200m away, ask how to get there and get out because it can be dangerous with the tram. From 9:30 p.m. the rooftop is no longer accessible even for a drink. The pizzas are very good, worthy of those you can eat in Italy. This hotel is a 30-minute walk from the Chaban stadium for rugby fans.

I would like to give rating 4 but the bathroom really lets this hotel down. The shower tray was full of black mould and it smelled really bad. I don’t expect this for a hotel that charges the rate they do.
Other than that, I liked the hotel, nice firm beds and a lot of fun details in the decor. The staff were friendly and efficient. I did miss power outlets on both sides of the bed. In this modern time, both people in a room ought to be able to charge their devices bedside over night.
Breakfast was superb. Lots of choices and well looked after.
Hotel is located in the centre of Bordeaux and we could easily walk around.

Parking possible. A cold welcome, an original room with little gifts and sexy humor. A shower room divided into 2 parts, a shower/toilet, and another sink/kitchenette open to the bedroom. A single lighting source for both parties...A pee at night, either in the dark or light in the room! meh
A very good breakfast in a very pleasant lounge atmosphere.
Access to the rooftop, a welcome as cold as ever but a nice view. the bar deserves to be reorganized for efficient order taking.

The hotel is cool but the room was absolutely boiling! We put up with it for one night and then reported it to reception who told us the a/c worked but it clearly didn’t as they’d put a dyson fan in the room (which made no difference). The second night we spoke to a nice man on reception who kindly transferred us to a smaller room which was fine but we’d paid for a bigger room.
On leaving we raised the issue again to which the receptionist again insisted there was a/c (despite the receptionist the night before being honest and telling us there was a problem in that level -level 3). To blatantly lie to customers is not acceptable. The customer service from the two women at reception was very bad.
If we go again I’d rather pay a little more for a hotel with real air con and honest staff.

Hello LauradV5953ZP, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm so sorry you had problems with the air conditioning. None of my employees lied to you: on sunny days, the rooms on the west side have trouble cooling despite the air conditioning which, I assure you, works. We moved you to another room on the second evening, which indeed was smaller. We compensated for this by giving you a 20% discount on the 2 nights! Once again, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience. But I repeat, the receptionists didn't lie to you, the AC works, but has trouble cooling the rooms on the west side at the end of the day. Do not hesitate to contact us directly during your next stay, I have put a note in your cardex Laura ;) We will offer you breakfasts and we will upgrade you. See you soon, I hope! Mama loves you :)

This hotel is very well located within the Bordeaux pedestrian area just up from the cathedral. They do have limited parking and the staff were very helpful in navigating us through the traffic controls. The rooms were comfortable although a little small, and there was a fridge and microwave.
Breakfasts were good and there was a pleasant roof top bar and restaurant. Hotel is very close to restaurants and shops and it is not too far to walk down to the main part of the old town.

Stayed there for 2 nights. The usual Mama Shelter hype of which I am not a big fan to say bluntly. Rooms are decent but the buidling feels like an office re-furbished into a hotel. There was no shampoo or conditioner and the soaps were really tiny. Breakfast was nice but the staff at the breakfast was really rude and unhelpful.

Absolutely loved our stay at Mama Shelter Bordeaux. This was our first time staying at this Accor affiliated chain, and would definitely recommend. We stayed in a “Large Mama Double” room with a charming view of the historic city centre. Loved the creative room lay out (and the playful design flourishes - like Star Wars masks in the room), the lighting options in the room, and the charming service. The rooftop terrace had great drinks and awesome city views, and the lobby restaurant was bumping at night - but the sound didn’t travel to the room. Only complaint was no in room coffee (who likes to go down to the lobby all groggy to grab something), but it wasn’t a dealbreaker.

We were a group of seven ladies celebrating a special occasion, and this hotel was perfectly located. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with great bed linen. The buffet breakfast exceeded all our expectations and nothing was too much for the staff, who remained friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning soon! Thanks Mama!

Hello Kelly,
From the airport to hotel it is around 40-45€. If it's too expensive you can take a city bus. It’s Line 1, the bus stop is Gambetta and it's 1.45€ per person.
Have nice day.
Mama loves you.
